Lit just had messages from UC saying they are back dating care element on my UC claim and she posted a letter saying £941 owed to me and they have updated all my past statements from January to the new totals but she’s totally ignoring the question to when I can expect it and when will the child element be done…. Any have the message and new statements and get the back date fast ? I’m just curious to if I will get it with my regular UC that is due on 27th !?!?!?!?

I updated UC the day I found out I was awarded 11/06. They decided on th 10/06. I had a message back within 20 mins telling me the carers element was verified and they sent the back payment which I got in my bank 2 days later 13/06 (actually on the same day as my backdated dla award) I am still waiting for the disabled element to be verified which they said if it isn't done by the end of this period I can message for them to escalate it. My award period is the end of the month. I've heard it takes longer because they have to accept special circumstances as to why we haven't notified them straight away ( obviously because of the long wait for Dla to make a decision) but they have to go through the processes I suppose

It took 1 hour 17 minutes to be told it’s with DM and expect a letter in a few weeks. I said I don’t know where I will be living in a few week due to being made homeless so I have to ring to ask. More stressing and sleepless nights.
i hope you get to call and get the award you deserve tomorrow x

1 hour 17 minutes later and finally a voice spoke to me!
it’s with the DM so look out for a letter within the next few weeks … explained again I won’t have a home in the next few weeks and will be homeless so where is the letter going? I don’t think trave lodge will except my mail 🤦🏻‍♀️ he said I will just have to ring back weekly if I don’t get the letter …… and the stress continues!

What's your scan date I was on hold for over an hour and the fne cut off I then rang the quick way and was told completely different to wat I was told ...that its now taking 20 weeks after bei g told it will be with a decision maker come friday lmao

Congrats on getting the awards and ty for sharing … hopefully it’s fast likes yours then and I get carers back date pay in my account on Friday or possibly Monday :) … oh I guess that makes some sense …. It should be kinda obvious though as everyone knows DLA take mths …. UC took almost 4 mths there self to do my claim after I had to quit my job. ( was more of a mutual agreement)

Ljstar · 19/06/2024 18:29

@Matilde08 call back tomorrow and ask for a complete breakdown of your award because that cannot be right!

The back pay should go in by the end of the week and the letter should arrive next week but don't wait for that, you need answers!

SendProsecco · 19/06/2024 17:18

We was awarded on 6th but I didn’t call and know until the next date ( 7th ) as was on holiday so waited til the Friday incase it was bad news lol … I told UC the same day … it wasn’t until Tuesday last week that I filled out all the changes though and then I saw a post about how to word a not on the journal so I copied that and edit the dates/names … today they changed all my past statements back to end January and the care element is back dated to 17th Jan same as the DLA … I’m praying the back pay owed goes in around same time or before 27th when my normal UC money goes in . But I’m none the wiser for the disabled child element as she’s not even mentioned it.

I’m still waiting for them to tell me. I’ve waited a month so far. Got told someone will message me by 6pm today and surprise surprise no one got back to me

Kell85 · 19/06/2024 18:41

@Mez2024 im still waiting. I told them a month ago, they awarded me the elements and got that last payment but still nothing in either backdating

Matilde08 · 19/06/2024 18:57

Thank you all for your care, encouragement and kind words ♥️🫂 makes me so emotional here 🥹
Will see how I feel following days mentally and physically..those calls today drained me till level I couldn't focus on my duties properly plus additionally I'm still poorly tested Covid and coughing like crazy. If I'm able to recharge and feel fit enough mentally..I will give them call. But meanwhile like @Fee89 recommended focus on that letter and then next steps.

@Matilde08 you definitely should call back and ask for this!
Your award doesn't make any sense and after all they've put you through you definitely deserve a full explanation. ❤️

After no one actually answered to me in Blackpool.. I gave a call to DLA and 512 option and after all the security questions I been told decision has been made and I will be transferred to the decision maker office to let me know what's the decision. They put me on hold but I don't know if I accidentally cut of the call or something. Anyways..so stressed I called again and other person asked the same questions, I said I have literally 5 min ago been told decision has been made. She was..oh, OK, then I'm transferring you to them to find out..put me on hold for a while ..me stressing and shaking, and she suddenly comes back with sorry no one is available at the moment and asked me to call back a bit later 🤦🏻‍♀️🤯 I'm passing out here.. what the universe is doing with me here

I have been following your journey for a while, when you call about if the rates are correct press 1 for English then press options 5 2 3 this is so important they can give you so much more information on these options I had a nightmare with the other options so went for the 5 2 3 options after seeing this on hear they must have the permission to give more information X

I changed my uc stuff on 7th and the 10th they said it’s been send to a specialist dm but still haven’t heard anything from them, I’m wondering if they do it in line with when your next awarded? Last time I had to do this though it took 10 days and they sent money to bank 2 days after they told me the backpay amount

Yes i believe so , this is where I have sent things on a couple of occasions and a week or two later then have scanned it and added it to my claims for both boys . Just sent extra bits from PAEDS and SALT yesterday for youngest MR claim… Will leave it til end of mth and call to see if they have it.

I have done both options 512 (for the ones waiting more than 20 weeks) being connected straight away, but they can't see almost nothing about updates, history calls, why delays.. while when calling 523 they can see much more, all the notes being left, e mails being sent etc. Strange

Just wondering if the DM always call the school regardless of how much information from the school has been provided?
My son has suspected adhd/autism (waiting for an assessment) and tourettes (also waiting for a paediatrics appointment) However his vocal tics had calmed down a lot in the last month or so, he's still having a lot of motor tics though, and the school seem to be very pleased with his progress concerning the vocal tics. When they were at their worst they were extremely loud and painful to hear for my son and everyone around him causing him a lot of stress, headaches and anxiety. However I've noticed in the last two days his vocal tics have started appearing again, starting as the usual grunting and throat clearing and today have escalated to the really high pitched loud ones once again. I'm just worried that if the DM has contacted the school in the last month and the school have said his tics aren't so bad at that very moment will that affect the possibility of him being awarded? Even though I have been told by his doctor that he can have flare ups of his tics and sometimes they can be less frequent. I'm just worried they won't assess him accurately even though I have sent off all school and senco reports, all our taf meeting notes and all reports of assessments he's had/waiting to have. Has anyone else had any experience with this?

SB1994 · 19/06/2024 21:21

I forgot to add his tics were first noticed in 2020, they started off as subtle vocal and motor tics and then progressed as the years went on to full blown sentences. I took him to the doctors for the first time a few weeks after I noticed them in 2020 ( I first assumed it was asthma due to the grunting, throat clearing and wheezing noises ) so the doctors will have all the appointments over the years on record too.

We were awarded with them contacting the school, my son is 10 not sure if that helps

jazzyruby · 19/06/2024 22:05

Rang for the first time today and surprised I didn't get a brick wall.

COC
Scan date 13/03
Lovely guy on the phone said it's been with the DM from the 14/06 and he could see that it's been worked on since then because there had been notes added to it, whatever that means.

Crossing my fingers I hear something within the next week because boy is this a stressful wait

Without them contacting the school that was meant to say sorry
