At least middle.. he goes through autism assessment, ECP at school, has eating disorder, allergic eye condition.. all the evidence from school, educational psychologist, CAMHS, hospitals, GP...

Did you go into detail of how much care he needs more than a regular child not just what was wrong with him? I’ve heard them be completely funny and not award just on how things are worded! X

Yes... my SEN teacher helped me to fill the claim, so much details about how much support he needs at school, at home.. all the sensory issues..eating problems.. bunch of evidence. It's like all of that has been ignored like it's nothing. I don't get it.

1 hour 17 minutes later and finally a voice spoke to me!
it’s with the DM so look out for a letter within the next few weeks … explained again I won’t have a home in the next few weeks and will be homeless so where is the letter going? I don’t think trave lodge will except my mail 🤦🏻‍♀️ he said I will just have to ring back weekly if I don’t get the letter …… and the stress continues!

What’s your scan date? Hopefully not long x

Fab that you have an award of something but I’m very shocked it’s only low rate of mobility and not at very least low care as well … I hope you have put in a lengthy complaint and high lighting that awful women’s remarks and comments to you what a Moo she was.

So it means just because his dad passed away and he has that extra support from his father's country till his 18, he's not eligible to both components here. It doesn't make any sense. It's nothing about his special needs.

Oh gosh what a complicated situation… it seems almost everyone that does get the mobility side are getting low… I’m not seeing many at all getting anything higher then the low…. Wish I could give you a hug hun this has been such a hard slog and stressful for it to come back as this outcome. :(

SendProsecco · 19/06/2024 16:15

Lit just had messages from UC saying they are back dating care element on my UC claim and she posted a letter saying £941 owed to me and they have updated all my past statements from January to the new totals but she’s totally ignoring the question to when I can expect it and when will the child element be done…. Any have the message and new statements and get the back date fast ? I’m just curious to if I will get it with my regular UC that is due on 27th !?!?!?!?

I have never seen anyone who gets ONLY mobility component. And for autistic child with care plans at school, eating disorders and sensory issues. I don't get this

I'm deep down hoping for it but they have dragged me around so much that I'm afraid to think about it positively.

I think they pay it separately to your payments as they've owed me money before and paid it after a few days of getting a message on UC journal, can I ask when you updated uc and how long it's taken them to update yours please ☺️

OneTiredMumma84 · 19/06/2024 16:30

@Matilde08 I would call back and ask for clarification on the award and question how a child can have mobility needs but no care needs? He struggles with mobility so who is helping him if he has no care need?!? Doesn’t make one bit of sense x

Exactly... and it means I can't be his carer or apply for Carer allowance then at all.

Oh wow @Matilde08. To wait all that time and be awarded that! I hope its a error.i would call back via the long way and see if they can explain it more

I've just informed UC and they said it'll go to a DM because it's classed as a late report if change, anyone else get told this?

Told them I didn't know he was awarded until today so not alot I could of done🤦🏻

I asked for a backdate on 3 bed allowance, I've just been awarded it but my son has been in his own room because of behaviour since August. I didn't know we were entitled to 3 bedrooms until the told me and they have passed mine to a dm it'll be 2 weeks Friday and I still haven't heard

I didn't know that there's even possibility to be eligible just for one component. Well, would make sense if you eligible for carer component and not for mobility..but when it's opposite. And for child going through assessment and having EHC plan.

I have just come off the phone from seeing if their is any updates on my sons claim (new claim) scan date 7th March. He told me it is still awaiting to go to a desicion maker and should have a decision within 3-6 weeks so I learnt nothing really after waiting an hour to get through 😫

We was awarded on 6th but I didn’t call and know until the next date ( 7th ) as was on holiday so waited til the Friday incase it was bad news lol … I told UC the same day … it wasn’t until Tuesday last week that I filled out all the changes though and then I saw a post about how to word a not on the journal so I copied that and edit the dates/names … today they changed all my past statements back to end January and the care element is back dated to 17th Jan same as the DLA … I’m praying the back pay owed goes in around same time or before 27th when my normal UC money goes in . But I’m none the wiser for the disabled child element as she’s not even mentioned it.

MumOf6Beauts · 19/06/2024 17:32

We were awarded on the 5th June, I did it on the 6th he said it has been verified for both elements but it's with a decision maker for back pay and can take a while! I'd maybe put another message or give them a call to check, have they put the Disabled child Element on your old statements or just the carers?

Accbabymom1994 · 19/06/2024 17:38
