I wonder if it’s certain people that work certain ways and others just don’t give a f about the people they are stressing out!
I need to send in my son’s CAMHS acceptance letter (well I think I do?) but it puts you off as you don’t know if it’s going to delay your claim any further x

Does it delay the claim if u send more evidence??xx

Hi I don’t personally think it does I applied for my son in November rang for the forms then and send over any and every bit of evidence I had at different times throughout as and when I’d received the extra evidence and his claim took 17 weeks total so I do not think it does delay it I think it helps them make a decision sooner as they are likely to just award with loads of evidence rather then calling schools gp’s and stuff to gather more info which I think causes delays or they could request more evidence from the parents which again I think delays them being able to award hope this helps xx

@CaitlinAmy12 @ADT13 @MumOf6Beauts its ridiculous the amount of different stories they keep coming up with, I don’t see why they can’t be straight with us considering we’ve been waiting along time for a decision as it is. I was told mine was with dm a week ago but still haven’t hear anything, the next time I called I was told to wait til 17 weeks. Hopefully it won’t be much longer 🤞 good luck to you all I hope you get the awards your hoping for

So I’ve just called and got the mostly loveliest man, humming songs down the phone while looking into my claim, he said oh yours should have been picked up by the decision maker by now it’s gone over the recommended time, I’ll email them now and ask them to make it a priority, I’m not sure why you’ve not had a decision yet. So I will see if I hear anything soon.

i very much doubt it would delay your claim further hun I did loads of additional different pieces of evidence at different times as and when I received them and my boys took from calling for forms to being awarded 17 weeks total I would say any additional evidence is best to be sent off as you don’t want not sending it causing delay as they could ask you for more or potentially it being a decline hope this helps , I’ve just put in claim for a different child with suspected adhd and autism and I am sending any and every bit of evidence over as and when it comes x

What do we send for suspected ASD? I’ve got nothing . The school refered him , I filled in part of the form they asked me to and then they dealt with the rest, no idea how long the assessment will take . They have also started EHCP assessment too but no idea how to get proof of that to send either x

Hi So I sent with my boy suspected ASD , I sent acceptance of social communication pathway for an assessment for autism I sent speech and language report and 2 paediatrician reports as well as school filling in the someone who knows the child part of the form and we was awarded with that evidence hope this helps I think with the amount of evidence you have sent you haven’t got to worry , I’ve just recently applied for my girl and I’m stressing out with that because she masks a lot she has suspected ASD &. ADHD and I have no evidence with her at all at the moment apart from speech and language report which is over a year old and we have just completed the forms for autism referal today but will take a while for them to be sent off and accepted and the sendco filled in the someone who knows the child part xx

@Matilde08 I'm glad you are finally standing up and saying enough is enough. They have taking the piss big time and you have been so patient and always accepting off what they tell you. You have understood for a long time and been accepting that your sons case is different but in return you just get lied to and told to keep waiting. Please express in your letter what this has done to you, your marriage as good as he is he has had to watch his wife suffer. And the stress its put on your family 😔. I wish i could give you a huge squeeze right now 💖 xxx

Thank you, dear 🫂💗 just updated my complaint letter and wrote down everything how it has affected me. It's mind blowing and I can't even think straight now and focus on anything now.

@Matilde08 my heart really does go out to you I can’t believe how much they’ve messed you about and telling you conflicting and different information I had everything crossed today you would get the news you’ve been longing for you’ve already been through so much and they are just adding to it I hope your claim is dealt with ASAP and you get what your entitled too sending support and hugs your way ❤️

I feel a bit bullied by them in some ways.. and now my inner MAMA comes out as that's about my little special boy who's entitled to that support. Just because he's dad died doesn't give rights them to treat us like they do. 😑 thanks for positive thoughts 🙏🏼

rhay complaint is well overdue so I am glad you are updating it to state how affected you have been by this ordeal! X

Matilde08 · 05/06/2024 12:12

@OneTiredMumma84 @3boysand2girls My friend recommends to involve MP as well, but hubby said it's worth to put down complaint first to DLA.

How do we know when the ASD referal has been accepted? I literally know nothing about ASD or EHCP process . My boy is turning 12 this month , this is all new to us but he has struggled since day 1 of school. I asked his primary school when he was year 3 if they could look into if they suspected anything but they said he is just an ‘shy , quiet , emotional boy’ ….. now we are this far down the line and he is struggling so bad 😔 his current school attendance is 49.9% and that’s on a reduced timetable and with 1:1 support and he still can’t handle school. In his words ‘it’s too much, it scares me which makes me stressed then feel sick’ he has been diagnosed severe emetophobia and the poor boy feels sick all day everyday x

Does anyone know the current wait times for MR? I've been told 8 weeks, 11 weeks and15 weeks now?

I'm currently at 13 weeks, think its going to be closer to 15 / 16 weeks before I hear. Think I read that they are working on MR's dated 29th Feb at the moment.

Lynsw87 · 05/06/2024 12:50

Hello.
I rang yesterday to ask for my claim to go for financial hardship. How would I know if they are doing that. Would I need to ring again?

Matilde08 · 05/06/2024 13:00

Just called again and used 513 option so no waiting. They put me on hold while reaching out to main department for more information. He came back and explain that he have talked with someone who works with my boys case and they said they still wait for response to be back from main office..they working hard to sort this out as soon as possible but can't give any approx "time" when it could be back. I then said I have been told so many different things... even that decision will be done by Tuesday, today have been told 2-3 weeks. Patiently waiting and understanding, and it causes me so much upset. I said I do understand why those check ups and it's unusual case, but I feel like I have boon left in the loop. I said: you have no idea how many times I'm crying after those multiple calls as it's triggers me massively. He sounds like a nice guy and said he understands and so sorry. But they asked to reassure me that I have not been forgotten or ignored..just matter of the time. They asked me to call them for an update next week. They have no idea how much it drains me and upsets me. If they would do those check up during those 15 weeks, I wouldn't be left in this never-ending saga. That's what's happened but they will not admit it.

@Matilde08 I'm sorry you are still being messed around, even though it was a little more complex for your son's decision, taking this amount of time is not acceptable, if you can, ring them daily chasing it up until they sort it out. Xx

I don't know if your current MP can help at the moment. Because parliament is dissolved ahead of the GE, none of them are actually MPs right now (according to my MP's website). Otherwise I'd definitely say to get them involved ASAP. What a mess they're making if this.

Bearing in mind that DLA isn't means tested, and the survivor's pension isn't disability-related, I can't begin to think why it would affect eligibility for it. Have they explained their reasoning?

so frustrated for you 😕
it's literally shocking service. Surely someone / whoever is assigned your case can you focus on that for a day or two and get it sorted? It baffles me

Ljstar · 05/06/2024 13:43

I caved and called 🙈

i'm 15/02, don't know why i started saying and thinking I was 16/02 🤔🤣

The guy on the phone said there is a back log again and claims are taking up to 20 weeks. This seems to be consistently what i'm told lately, so I think maybe I just need to believe it.

It did seem like they caught up and I was seeing a lot of cases completed at 15 weeks but I don't think that's the case anymore.

He said I should know by July 4th

It's taking mine ages apparently, it got added on straight away but not backdated, no idea why, I might have to annoyed them in the journal again😂

Did you call the 523 way? The other way they seem to keep saying to wait until 20 weeks.
