Does anyone know if they are still making decisions over weekends to help with the backlog? I know a while ago they were x

Ljstar · 07/06/2024 14:20

I decided to ring 🙈

Spoke to the kindest lady ever, she said it's with a decision maker so call back next week, I said ok how long do you think it will take? then she said...

"oh my goodness, your case has just been updated this second as we speak"

He's been awarded middle rate care, low rate mobility until 2029 😭

She told me all about the other elements I can apply for and things like a cinema carers card etc

I cried down the phone and told her what a super helpful and kind lady she is

Wow!! What are the odds on that!! Well done!! Did you get her name?? We'll all ask for her! 😂

ThatWittyRuby · 07/06/2024 14:24

Just called... Still waiting should have a decision by 15/07.
The guy I spoke to wasn't letting on anything he wouldn't confirm if my daughters claim was with decision makers or not, he just kept repeating "your claim is still being looked at"

sorry my SD 15/02
awarded mrc/lrm today

I would definitely advise to always call the 523 (long way) as they can tell
you more information and are so much nicer / kinder

I have been calling quite often over the last week and it's been so stressful

I didn't catch the name of the lady of spoke to but she was so helpful, told me exactly how much I will be getting in terms of back pay and the amount per month, she couldn't have been more helpful

Hoping for some more
awards for everyone else waiting x

scan date 27th feb couldn't resist so called at 9am got through to a absloute idiot who just repeated the 20 weeks wait wouldnt even confirm if it was with a dm

I think I probably just spoke to the same guy, he was very guarded about what he was telling me just kept saying 20 wks and my case is still being looked at ...

Brilliant news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done.

You do not have to answer, I understand some would not want to.

But what are some of the issues you have described on your claim, am just worried I have not been clear or detailed enough, and think i could be rejected on that basis

Shazzle88 · 07/06/2024 14:46

Any body wth a suspected asd child? What length awards was your child given xx

Maydeanna94 · 07/06/2024 14:48

Think it’s worth ringing for the 20/2 yet 🤣

YourMerryPanda · 07/06/2024 14:48

Currently waiting on the 523 option for 36 mins.
Just today had it confirmed that my 7yr old has been accepted for an EHCP and his draft is due 18/07, but have recommended 32.5hours so full provision. Not sure if there is enough time for me to send the letter to be reviewed, although I sent plenty of evidence in the initial claim pack.
Scan date 23/02 for 2 new claims for my 7yr old and 9yr old

CaitlinAmy12 · 07/06/2024 14:51

Crazyhouse4 · 07/06/2024 13:34

Scan date 16/2 I have just called and was awarded yesterday, my daughter will be getting MRC and LRM until the day before her 16th birthday 🙌

Yay !!!!

Crystalsangel08 · 07/06/2024 14:57

Shazzle88 · 07/06/2024 13:39

Does anybody know, is there set award lengths? Xx

With my eldest she was awarded at 9yr till day before her 13th then renewed till her 16 and we've just applied for pip for her
My sisters son I think his was renewed every 2/3yrs till he hit 16 and was swapped to pip till hes 22 then will have to renew it

I have just rung them on 523 and it took 5 minutes to get through, I am in a similar position, where awaiting on a report to send. They took this down and put it in the case notes for the DM to see. So I would hold on. Said ours should be set to DM, next week (26/02)

I rang this morning using 523 got straight through. I was told my son was awarded middle rate, back pay was processed Wednesday and there’s a letter in the post. Obviously happy I’ve had the decision. My scan date was 15/02

What’s the 523 number everyone’s ringing😂 I’ve been ringing one of the gov website and not really getting anywhere x

YourMerryPanda · 07/06/2024 15:14

Still waiting, been 61 minutes now. Even their call system is a joke.

Ljstar · 07/06/2024 15:14

@wonderfullife1

My son has epilepsy, ASD and on the wait list for ADHD. He also has a chromosome abnormality, which is sent a copy of.
I sent all of his diagnosis reports, paediatrician reports, SALT report, SEN provision map for school, adhd referral form from school which details quite a lot of his behaviour during school.
He's also on melatonin and keppra so I listed that.

I think he has ARFID too so i listed all of my struggles with him eating / not eating etc and his extremely limited diet

SendProsecco · 07/06/2024 15:25

Ok so I caved 🤦‍♀️ … even though I am in Bulgaria on holiday with my two boys ( 8yr ADHD and autism , 2 Yh old non very very delayed communication comprehension and Mike stone reaches ) … I phoned DLA lol 😂 …. 2yr old turned down and put through to talk with another department 20 mins explaining and answering questions to her she said definitely do a MR she feels DM did not take on board the differences between a regular 2 year old and our sons delays and needs …. 8 year old was approved with LRC and a care element totalling £405 every 4 weeks ….. they also said as I get UC I need to tell UC as they might change my payments ? Anyone else have UC reducing because child getting DLA 😬😭

I asked the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've no idea what they are calling. I'm so confused 😆

YourMerryPanda · 07/06/2024 15:28

How do you all get through to the call centre so quickly? I don't think my call has ever been answered quicker than an hour.
Calling 0800 121 4600, then option 5 2 3.
Is this correct?
