Hi all
my scan date 13/2
rang Friday - was with DM
rang today still no decision however on the ID verify bit she did ask me my last 4 digits of bank account number to verify ID . Does this mean anything (eg there actually Is a decision ) or am I reading too much into it 😂
very worried as don’t think I filled form in well my son has cerebral palsy hydrocephalus and sent ECHP and psychologist r report but my answers were not detailed at all as I rushed it so I’m worried. He’s 4.

We should be getting a decision in next two weeks.

We didnt know whether to claim, we both got good well paid jobs, not rich but have a comfortable lifestyle, and the money, wouldnt make a massive difference, like it will to some others. So felt abit guilty claiming.

Its a genuine claim, lovely daughter, but just getting assessed for Autism (we always knew there was something there, and school have been great and advised us to claim) and to be honest, were tired, got to watch her like a hawk and never gets tired. Stims alot and has no sense of danger or any attention span.

So I suppose the question is, what do people do with the money recieve ?

We do monthly saving for all three kids already, and our thoughts are, we put the money away for good abroad holidays (we already go away for two weeks every August) but thinking maybe disneyland abroad, in a couple of years. If we get accepted for help.

Is that selfish and we should just put the whole lot in account for when she is 18 ?

Don’t feel bad, you are entitled to this money. Just remember you claiming for your little girl will not affect anybody else claiming for their children :)

I wouldn't feel bad she's no different to anyone else's child, if you don't need the money put it aside as you never no what future holds. I no I've had to reduce my working hours.. me and my husband still live comfortable and the dla I get for my son goes in a savings account for of things change in time if they don't it will get giving on him to help progress as an adult😊

I have a new claim in scanned 26.02.2024 & a renewal due on 26/06/2024.

New claim is with a DM and I received a 'still looking' text on 03.06.2024.

Renewal still hasn't been looked at and I've seen a renewal for August that has been processed today! It bothers me because they've had my renewal since 22.02.2024! There is no rhyme or reason behind the processing of dates 😏

I've rang every day for 2 months for my renewal ... I think they'll block my number soon 😫

Mine was the 15/02 I got a decision today so hopefully you’ll get a decision by next week🤞🏼

Hopefully 🤞🏾 the only upside to the ridiculously long wait time is the back pay! Ideally I’d be one of those lucky people that ring and actually get given information!

How long does it roughly take for you to receive your first letter saying they’ve got your claim ? I’ve not had anything yet just over 2 weeks since sending the form back thanks in advance x

It took almost a whole month for me to get a letter to say they had received it

Jom43 · 06/06/2024 21:14

@Fee89 I'm so pleased for you. You have been a beacon of light for so many of us. Very Happy that you and your little one can now get the support you deserve.

Still have everything crossed for you @Matilde08 xxx

Congratulations to everyone else who received awards and good luck to all those waiting x

WittySloth · 06/06/2024 21:30

I'm sure I've been told 2 weeks? I called on Monday 3rd after my 'we are still looking' text to ask if that meant it had been allocated to a DM and they said yes, call back Friday 14th and a decision should have been made x

My daughter has just been awarded and I have decided to put half into savings for her, we already save for both our children in locked savings until they are 18 so the other half can go towards top up with extra household things we need (more washing, drying, securing the garden more so she can play in it as we cant let her out due to her climbing through bushes and running off.) with the backpay we have booked a break as a treat but do what you think will help you the most.

TwinMom25 · 06/06/2024 21:55

That’s a lovely idea 💖 If I’m lucky enough for my son to be awarded it will go towards his horse riding it’s the only thing he can do as it’s calm and relaxing for him. I’m also on the last of my 9 lives at work I work full time (well I should work full time!) he’s on a part time table or completely out of school as they can’t meet his needs, ray of light as he’s starting special school in September that’s was a whole other fight getting this placement o think most EHCP parents will feel my pain and I’m one of the lucky ones X

Aw sounds tough I hope you get some good news soon, my daughter is so dangerous, has no sense of danger, we have a garden with bushes with gaps in she climbs through them and runs off, I can't even let her in the garden, she is 6, has me up all night then gets up at 5am demanding breakfast, so draining 😩 honestly have bloodshot eyes daily from sleep deprivation, I get you it's hard work x

If you don't need it at the moment save it until you do. Sometimes children need expensive therapy or they get bigger and outgrow things that costs 5 times as much for older children. We need to upgrade our swing/climbing frame soon as the current one is 10 years old and built for younger children. The ones I'm looking at are all £1000 plus because they need to be suitable for adults to play on.

I'd love a climbing frame/swing that is suitable for teens/adults. Where can you find them?

Fee89 · 06/06/2024 23:11

It's my 2nd time going through the process we went through this septwmber last year and my daughter was awarded Feb and that time. Round I rang quite a few times and had the same response this time round I haven't rang once just left it to the process as I found ringing made me. Worse I have had 2 letters also this time. Round only 1 the 1st time. Round and 1 text this time no texts the system. Is shocking I hope you get the news you and your little one deserve and my advice would be let the process run once you hit 15.weeks call that's my plan this time. Round I found until. The 15 week. Mark they wasn't any help. At 17 weeks we was awarded total was 23 - 24 weeks from. Ringing for forms. Hope this helps.

Can I asked what scanned means?
so I sent mine off 6th may they received it by 11th I got a letter on 16th may saying they have it but need to wait to check my refuge status
(I left my nationality blank I didn’t realise so they wanted my passport which I don’t even have etc but luckily they know am not a refuge etc they have all that update)
so iv sent back to form which they sent me asking about my nationality last Friday and on Monday it was received.
so does scanned mean when they receive it and have looked at it or is scanned different? Xx
