Has anyone applied for possible ADHD I literally have no evidence really just 2 letters for speech and language which were done about 2 years ago and that she is still on waiting list for more then words intervention she requires 1-1 support at school for reading writing and phonics due to being severely delayed because she can not physically concentrate or pay attention very hyperactive and no sense of danger excetra the thing is she can’t be accepted for
an ADHD referal until she is 6 so I don’t have much evidence at all to help with my claim other then a letter from school and speech and language report and school filled in the someone who knows the child part ?

I requested my forms by phone 22/12 and it took me a while to fill in it was scanned into the system 19/03 the exact deadline date, will this still be classed as in time?

That seems along gap as normally only 6 weeks otherwise they will question you and might not let you have it from December

I just reread my message and I’m absolutely lost on where I got that date from 🫣 I did mean 06/02 scanned 19/03 (the deadline)

That makes more sense so yeah they will back date from when you did call up

how do I apply for disability element onto my claim?

good luck to everyone for their awards 15 weeks and 6 days for me 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Oh I am so so pleased for you! This is amazing well done lovely lady x

sadiekt21 · 20/05/2024 19:21

So I was claiming UC & stopped claiming in March. However, because I've been eligible for DLA since December.. could I claim for the 3 months I would have been eligible for the element and was claiming UC? Or will they just say no because I have a cancelled claim.

Garfield456 · 20/05/2024 20:22

Congrats on all the awards x

CyanFawn · 20/05/2024 20:37

Hiya, i was just wondering does award times depend on area or are they kind of set for everywhere?

I just ask as on my letter it's states upto 15 weeks for a decision, yet some take less or longer. Im making a new claim for my son, hes nearly 14 and actually diagnosed with depressive disorder, anxiety and tic disorder and currently we are on the waiting list to go to panel for autism diagnosis and possible pda. Hes been diagnosed with the top 3 for going on 3 years now and awaiting panel for 6 months, and is due to start therapy at camhs which i did add to forms.

Ive always been a little hesitant to make a claim for dla as ive never thought hed be awarded but i kind of need to now, hes very destructive broken 2 tvs, puts holes in the wall, rips his clothes up including the other childrens, has lots of missing episodes and has no understanding of emotions and cant express his feelings and is currently waiting for help from speech and language too.

Keeping up with the costs is becoming unmanageable hence the claim, apart from above he also soils himself and just throws the underwear or hides it (camhs thinks its linked to sensory issues) and we have to padlock the front room at night or he will wonder around the estate at all times of night and eats everything in the house from frozen foods to crisps to bread. He sets fires and has a fire alarm in his bedroom installed by the local fire brigade.

He has no ehcp at the moment, im still waiting for the school to sort it but he is in alternative provision within the school so doesnt attend mainstream lessons, but attends whats like a school within the school where he gets 1 to 1 and theres only atound 7 people in the class.

Does anybody think he will actually get awarded anything, im on week 7 currently as scan date was the 2nd april, and will wait the 15 weeks just still unsure whether i actually have grounds for the claim, as i said above ive just always been hesitant.

I would say you got a strong case but since joining on here from about thread 26 or something like that so seems forever, it's all just pot luck, I'm currently week 15 today and still not with a decision maker yet, so still waiting myself and everyweek we all get told different on waiting times, hope that helps

SK2024 · 20/05/2024 22:47

DLA434 form sent for COC. Received by them on 14/05/2024. Seems like I've got a long wait ahead...

Kell85 · 20/05/2024 23:16

Aussielover · 20/05/2024 14:58

@Kell85 1000000% get a blue badge to help you park nearer to keep yourself and child safe. hrm will automatically qualify for blue badge, no forms needed by external agents and you'll also qualify for a car if you wanted to use the money for that.

How do you prove having melatonin given to your child? Do you just send prescription in or letter from gp/pharmacist?

Any idea how long coc are taking?

Anyone got hrm without 1:1 need?

I scanned it before I took it to the pharmacy. It has his name, D.O.B, address, NHS number and doctors surgery on it so they knew it was his. Hope that helped xx

Thanks for your reply. A lot of different people/professionals have all said I shouldn't applied ages ago but it's stressful isn't it, one person who doesn't know your daily routine, appointments, worries and sometimes struggles making a decision on whether you fit into a certain criteria or not...this is why I've always been hesitant to do it x

Thanks for the reply. Yeah this is where I was getting confused, I've been looking at different threads for a while and been seeing that some people wait 10 weeks for example, some 15 and some even longer and then my letter says upto 15 weeks so just wondered if it varied by area/demand. Hopefully they sort you soon and I'll just continue to sit and wait 😂

Jempeech · 21/05/2024 06:39

Hi everyone . My older son had dla now pip but I honestly think this time around for my daughter is worse ! My scan date is 20/02. Send diagnosis letter along with a massive observation letter from different observations she has had . Diagnosed very quick so that’s all I sent off. The school filled in the part of who knows her. But.. they’ve just finished her IEP . I rang and they said with a DM is it worth sending it in ? In pretty much just confirms what the teacher said in the bit she filled in . If I send it will it delay things more ?

ThisNeatEagle · 21/05/2024 07:11

Kita86 · 21/05/2024 07:36

Should have payment tomorrow I would think?🤔

NoWordForFluffy · 21/05/2024 07:37

Yeah. I'd have expected today, so if it's not today it should be tomorrow.

Kita86 · 21/05/2024 07:40

Maybe ring them to place a note on your claim that your sending some more evidence in , it just take abit longer I’ve seen sometimes it’s with dm for a few weeks good luck 👍

Scan date 01/02..

phoned yesterday as getting very anxious seeing that people what the same scan date have been awarded. Got such rude lady. Wouldn’t tel me anything. Told me to wait 20 weeks although I’ve been told 15 prior. I asked if she could tell me where our claim is at and she told me she couldn’t tell me any information as she doesn’t have access. I asked to speak to someone who does and she told me nobody would tell me. 15 weeks is a guide line and now I need to wait 20 weeks before phoning again😫🤦‍♀️..
won’t be calling again. That’s for sure took me along time to pluck you the courage to call as I hate talking on the phone to people I don’t know and I honestly could have cried with how rude she was. I wish they’d understand what this process does to people😭

Was her name Kim by any chance 😬. If you call use selection 1 5 2 3. They are usually much nicer and best way to call to find out info. If you ever get that again demand to speak to or have a manager call you back. They are not allowed to refuse so if they try kindly remind them they are not allowed to refuse that request x

Kita86 · 21/05/2024 08:55

Yeah I don’t want to call again I’ve rang twice each time to be told ring at 20 weeks 😕 I’ve seen a few being processed at 15/02 so after my date they received mine I’m hoping this will be the week 🤞🤞
