It's so frustrating as you can't really tell who's telling the true. One of my calls I could tell straight away that he's not even looking at our claim. - Decision maker&two weeks... and 2 days later suddenly back to case manager from my experience.

I know! A few weeks ago I got a woman who I know wasn’t even looking at anything. She just said it won’t be looked at till the 15th week so you don’t need to call again (yes I do and I will love!) Other times I get quite helpful people who I can tell are genuinely looking at it and providing much more helpful information

Hi all,

My son already gets high rate dla but I applied for the mobility element because she turned 5, scan date was 2/2 I was told last week someone would look at it this week but I'm am wondering if he is awarded will he get backdated from when I sent the form or will they only pay from his 5th birthday?

Thanks x

if you are awarded, it will be awarded from the date your son turned 5.

I'm just wondering they mentioning on letters : you don't have to call... we still look on your claim..it can take up to 15 weeks. But what's happening if there's nothing after 15... after even 20 weeks. I had a feeling when I called them after 22 weeks for the first time, it was just 'lost in the system'. Still being asked to wait for another 2 weeks or even 6 if nothing, call them back. I'm anxious to call them this week as I don't want to get disappointed to hear a different update and another 2 weeks.

It’s draining isn’t it! My son’s the same, no sense of danger at all, will run in to roads and run off, found him crossing the road yesterday full on naked as he managed to get outside the front door😩 my son doesn’t have a diagnosis yet but is non verbal and on the diagnoses path. Yep again my boy’s the same, will throw himself on the ground and in the middle of the road etc. it’s so hard isn’t it. Hopefully she gets what she deserves, and soon

It's so hard no 1 understands unless they living it and then to have to fight for everything for them is disgraceful what we have to go throu

It depends if you are gonna get awarded HRM will be from when you got your forms as you already have Hrc and he's older then 3, if it's LRM then it will be from his 5th birthday so it just depends on what they award him, do you know what you want?

Have the school returned what they wanted? If they have and was sent recorded delivery then I’d be inclined to call Friday…

Not sure how school returned it but I will try ring Friday hopefully it be back by then

Scan date 22/11 Exactly today counts 6 months. If nothing in coming days, will call them on Thursday. Trying my best to put it back in my mind, but anxieties around this waiting doesn't help me at all.

That's terrible to be waiting that long I'm 19/01 scan date and I'm near pulling my hair out hope you hear soon

Namechangepleas · 08/05/2024 00:01

That's the date they scanned form onto the system.

Mommy2boys30 · 08/05/2024 05:49

Morning, I'm gonna be ringing dead on 9 and see if they have scanned my extra evidence I sent off nearly 2 weeks ago and have an update scan date 5/02 I'm currently just over 13 weeks

He meets all the tests for high rate but he doesn't have a diagnosis yet, I provided reports from the pediatrician, his school sen plan and the report from the Ed psych all of them say he has to be supervised at all times and set out his problems but I know it's hard to be awarded high rate for asd kids

I filled the form in in detail with lots of extra information and the Ed psych report is explicit on how he refuses to follow anyone's agenda and he is very impulsive and will lash out or run away if you try to make him so 🤞🤞

Myadaggon · 08/05/2024 08:19

Good morning all,

I hope you all hear some wonderful news this week on your claims 👌

Mamma2Boys92 · 08/05/2024 09:12

Good luck to all waiting to hear - I have tossed and turned all night after speaking to them yesterday and them kindly marking it financial hardship given our current situation - I've seen people receive texts when awarded - I have not received any texts throughout this whole process so far - Is it common to receive an SMS. I'm trying everything in myself not to call again this afternoon for an update >.<

Mum2gbg · 08/05/2024 09:17

Not everyone gets a text message for some reason. Give them a call and they will be able to tell you if you have been awarded. Good luck x

Update:

Scan dat 16/01. Called this morning and my daughter has been awarded MRC & LRM from 13th December 2023 - 27th July 2027. Backpayment was issued a few days ago, but somehow they've sent it to a Halifax account (I've never been with Halifax, I'm with Santander), so they're recalling the payment and reissuing it. Que a different kind of anxiety..

I've caved - I'm ringing now and stuck in the long hold que to see if any movement has happened. It was still awaiting to be signed to a case manager yesterday when they marked it. It is so hard to concentrate at work when this is at the forefront of my mind. I'm not expecting it to of been looked at as was only marked up yesterday morning but even knowing that it is in with someone will massively help my head for today at least. Really nervous at getting an awful person as I am aware they will be able to see I just called yesterday. We shouldn't have to feel like this when calling DLA. I will update when I eventually get through :)

Mommy2boys30 · 08/05/2024 09:46

I rang dead on nine and got straight through to Ali and the evidence I sent end of April still hasn't been scanned on and said to phone back Friday to ask again, he said we are 1-2 weeks away from going to a decision maker scan date 5/02 really hope it gets added in time
