I am getting so confused with DLA. Just got off the phone and I was told my claim has been with the decision maker since end of January. But last week when I called, it was sent to the decision maker last Tuesday, don't feel as though questions are really being answered get told so many different things 😕

It's so frustrating as you can't really tell who's telling the true. One of my calls I could tell straight away that he's not even looking at our claim. - Decision maker&two weeks... and 2 days later suddenly back to case manager from my experience.

It really is long. Mines 26/1. I always get given different time scales, puts me off ringing 😩 I get anxious thinking about it x

Same... to even think about calling them makes me super anxious and upset now.

@Tracy37x it just doesn't make sense does it, I thought there was a process the claims go through, hence why they say it can take 15 weeks, for some people its taking a fairly long time. Really isn't fair to keep people waiting and guessing, especially those who have bad anxiety. I just hope everyone hears back very soon. I may apply to be a decision maker, il wizz through them, especially as I have some medical knowledge 😂 x

So I rang.. couldn't help myself!
explained to them about financial hardship as my son needs adaptations put in place within the household especially having the bath changed into a shower with a seat.
Lovely guy Jameel! He said he has noted that onto the system and I should hopefully get a call on Friday to state the progress of the claim being put as a priority.
Ohhh I just hope it's all good news soon 🤞🏼 he did say that I shouldn't be anxious about a decline as i would of heard by now if it was a decline.

That bit about him saying to you if there would be decline you would hear from them sooner.
But then again my case is a bit different 🤦🏻‍♀️

Like I mention before, my boy gets Survivor's pension from another EU country. That's the pension he's eligible even if we live abroad. His dad, my late husband died when he was little. It's nothing about his special needs, but they need additional check ups. They called me actually 2 months ago and askad about it. I explained, and she said they'll be back shortly with decision..more than month passed, nothing. I started to chase them up 2 weeks ago.. First call: no update at all, it was like they couldn't find it at all, general response: it's just takes longer than expected. Few days later call them again, they said it's with decision maker, wait another 2 weeks. I called them couple of days later again as I just felt something is up. I then found out there's no update it's with case manager, who called me back. Because of that survivor's pension they need to do additional check ups, asked time frame.. another 6 weeks, if nothing..have to call them back. Waited for another week, used this time long wait 423 dial and was connected with very nice lady who seemed very empathetic, this time I opened up how much it affects my mental health as I'm seriously having so much anxieties and panick attacks. It triggers me as well because of loss. She said still with case manager and once the information is back from Blackpool (I have no idea why.. another office or something) she marked that decision will be passed straight to my by text. I have no idea if she marked it like emergency because of all that wait, but apologise for all. Exactly today turns 24 weeks.

I apologise on my part I do remember reading a post about the pension. Hopefully it won't be too much longer now 🙏

No need to apologise 😊 thanks, hopefully soon. My parents are coming to visit us from our homeland.. it has been a while since saw them. Really want to relax and focus on enjoying time with them, not that issue hanging at the back of my mind still.

Have the school returned what they wanted? If they have and was sent recorded delivery then I’d be inclined to call Friday…

I have the same scan date, rang today and they said it went to DM this morning and to call Friday as there should be a decision then. If I were you I’d wait til Friday too and ask if there’s any progress, hopefully the school have given them what they wanted x

I do hope it's back this waiting is terrible I'm going to fight for high mobility for my wee doll as she is a flight risk no aware of danger runs out on road two close calls with cars at 50mph or over she can walk but very slow and not far but omg she runs really fast and climbs fast also she has diagnosis of non verbal autism serve global development delay and sensory processing disorder so it's hard to know what they will award if she gets awarded at all she is on high rate care goes to a special needs nursery and will be going to it for P1 so hopefully the nursery has backed me up the ot in school is on about getting her a disability push chair or wheel chair as when i do take her out she throws herself on ground and it's impossible to lift her up but it will only be used if i am bringing her strange places or long distance walk

It’s draining isn’t it! My son’s the same, no sense of danger at all, will run in to roads and run off, found him crossing the road yesterday full on naked as he managed to get outside the front door😩 my son doesn’t have a diagnosis yet but is non verbal and on the diagnoses path. Yep again my boy’s the same, will throw himself on the ground and in the middle of the road etc. it’s so hard isn’t it. Hopefully she gets what she deserves, and soon

My son already gets high rate dla but I applied for the mobility element because she turned 5, scan date was 2/2 I was told last week someone would look at it this week but I'm am wondering if he is awarded will he get backdated from when I sent the form or will they only pay from his 5th birthday?

I spoke to someone this morning they rang me to answer some questions I forgot to fill out. She said she was dealing with my claim today and should have a letter in 7-10 days. She also said after a quick glance we should definitely be awarded.
Hope this gives some of you some hope for your claims.

read these posts but try not to do so every day because I’m trying to tell myself it will be a 20 week wait and anything beforehand is a bonus 😂 otherwise I’ll end up ringing them every day and I don’t think my anxiety can cope with that.

Recieved a letter on Saturday saying sorry claim is taking so long... has only been 8 weeks 🤔 is that standard?
