Everyone is having difficulty time with their Special need child,so we all shouldn't be rude to each other because we don't know what they are going through. But one thing is dla are not doing their job properly by not looking into Claims because only their they will see who has more Priority than other's and no one should have to call them to remind them and Push them

I think it’s to do with certain things, I got put on the priority list because my son started school in September and the school said in march that mainstream isnt for him so I had to take him out of school which then impacted me working, I’ve now had to give up work to look after my child until I can get him into his specialist school. I’m now having to claim for certain benefits but there’s a wait time on them as well. So I’m that’s put me into the priority group because I have no income because my son is not in school anymore

Exactly, I wasn't trying to be rude one bit, if I offended anyone I'm reall sorry i was just frustrated but I will not be spoken to by that keyboard warrior trying to be little me, what the hell 😳 😅

Can I ask Fee how quickly after being made priority did you get awarded? My son is severely autistic and has seizures day and night, we spend a fortune making sure he is safe and he now needs a safe bed and monitoring equipment so they’ve made my case urgent today, it was already with a DM before being marked urgent!

That's what I mean dla needs to look into people claims Properly and see for their self who needs more priority than being told

She got made priority on the friday morning and the monday at 9.32am 😂 i had text saying she was awarded. Sorry to hear how rough it is for you 😔 hopefully yours is quick xx

I get it know you wasn’t being rude. Some people just think they are more entitled. I’ve been really patient. My son has been out of school since march and it was only today they put me in the priority. My child isn’t any more disabled then these other children and I understand how hard it is being a parent with a child with certain needs. And I agree it shouldn’t take this long for children either, the wait times are ridiculous. My son has been on the waiting list for his ASD since last January, he had his first appointment in January this year and we still have about another year to wait before for his assessment. Which means I can’t get him into a specialist school yet. It’s very but we are all on the same page and need to have compassion for everyone. I really hope you get a decision soon. It’s very stressful

@MotherAndDSon For me i had to give reason why and got told it still depends if d.m deems it priority and if it matches what i say im claiming for. I can only speak for myself though. Im unsure what others would of been asked/told x

In all fairness if there is a que when claims are assigned to DM’s the DM probably has a mixture of priorities and dates order anyway to get through

Nobody should be spoken to the way I just did, I would never speak like that to anyone x

This is a perfect way of putting it. I didn’t want to be put on the priority list but had to. There are children so much more sicker than my child and I was happy being patient but things changed and I had to be put on the priority list. I’ve gone from working to not being able to work, no income, child now not at school because he needs a specialist school and him only being able to stay with me or his dad, we are separated so as much as he helps me out so I don’t loose my home he still has his home to pay for as well. I wouldn’t wish anyone in this situation, no one wants a poorly child whether physically or mentally. I really wish you and your friend all the love and luck in the world.
