@Persianpoppy please dont let it get you stressed. Its no excuse but we dont know what their last call was like or how someone may of spoken to them and in return its been taken out on someone else. It shouldnt off been done and no one has a right to speak to anyone like trash, so i 100% think you need to complain. Its not just her but the managers aswell. If she has had a horrible call previously they are expected to carry on straight into next call, they are not allowed that 2 min breather and thats on the managers!! Training needs to be done and not everyone is made for call centers......i sure as hell aint, im too firey and have no filter 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

That is so so true! But also, I'd assume they're aware not all callers will be lovely and they have a duty to remain professional at all times xx

Sounds like your daughter is going through alot but the school have been so understanding which is amazing. It makes it alot easier for you knowing they are working with you which reduces your stress. I hope your work placement is as understanding 💖. Remember you need to breath aswell. Regarding updating dla, if you call them they will add notes on your claim and if need be they can just contact school to confirm 🌸

It makes it so much easier for you to focus on her when you know the other key points are all taken care off and understanding. I hope she is doing well. Good luck 💖

Hi, hope you all hear soon. I've been reading these posts for weeks in the background. Incase any use for some waiting my scan date was 10/01, got the text on Tuesday to say still looking at claim no need to contact. Yesterday midday got text to say daughter qualifies for DLA doesn't say what rate and will get a letter within 2 weeks.
Last time I applied for other daughter it was just 8 weeks but that was a few years ago.
Mine do not go to school though O think often the wait is for schools to return forms ..Good luck all x

I need to join you all. I was here a couple of years ago for my son's claim and I've sent my daughter's off today, so I'm settling in for the long haul!

It's due back by Thursday so I splashed out for Special Delivery to get it back by Tuesday. I couldn't face it going missing, even though I've got copies of it all.

DD is autistic and likely also has ADHD. She goes to high school this year, so we wanted her diagnosed before she goes. Thankfully it was a quick turnaround.

Matilde08 · 27/04/2024 14:28

Still here.. still waiting..👵🏻🤦🏻‍♀️ as my case seems a bit more complicated. After that call on last Thursday from case manager by telling me what's the reason of six months waiting for decision. And being told if nothing back in six following weeks I need to call them again. Promised myself to try to forget it and just leave it by flow as overthinking just drives me insane. Just wondering if I would give a call to them weekly would change something anything 🤔 What is six weeks compare to six months.. I know.. but this waiting really impacts my anxiety. I'm at this point I just need to know the decision even if it's declined even what wouldn't make any sense after such a long time.

Justkeepsplashing · 27/04/2024 14:51

Hi everyone, someone here posted an email address to send on additional information. I’ve been worried as my daughter hasn’t yet received an official diagnosis, so we don’t have any professionals working with us yet and the application is on hold as they await school’s report,

Anyway, I just thought today - I’ve got a letter from CAMHS which says they feel she needs ND assessment and confirmation that they’d referred her to the service and another letter from our local ND team to say she’s on the waiting list. Would you guys bother sending these in? It’ll be Week 19 for us next week and I’m clutching at straws.

Fee89 · 27/04/2024 14:56

@Matilde08 Set a day once a week to ring for an update, it will atleast keep you in the loop. Also explain how its making you feel. Dont think off it as 6 weeks but instead 6 calls xx

@Justkeepsplashing That email address was for northern ireland. I think as your 19 weeks call on monday and demand manager call back. Keep the letters you have for now as back up should you ever need to do mr or coc xx

That's a good advice to change a mindset on that instead six weeks ..there's six calls 📞 thank you 😊

Does anyone know if you can still get awarded for mobility even if you haven't filled that information out for when they turn 3 or 5 whichever age it is, especially if it's only 3 months away from their birthday? Or would you have to do a COC and add it on to the claim when it's their birthday. Thanks I'm 5/02 scan date but my son turns 3 in August and dont know DLA properly, it will be under the SMI rule.

I’m wondering the same question my anxiety is through the roof DD doesn’t attend a nursery/school setting due to safety concerns and 1 to 1 will be needed. She is 3.5 and still has the mind of a 6 month old unable to eat to feed herself due to choking risk, unable to talk, ride a bike, throw a ball the list is endless, daily meltdowns she would really benefit from HRM as currently we are unable to go anyway due to her sensory problems going anywhere is proving very difficult and stressful for her although she loves being outside too ☹️ I feel awful like she is trapped inside I just hope we all get some good news we all struggle so badly people don’t understand it’s mental and physical torture 🙏🏼
