Just received a text my son qualifiess! 15weeks on the dot - so glad that’s over. Couldn’t praise this thread enough for the continuous support!💕 scan date: 12/01
on the line now to find out rates

Congratulations! Same as me 15 weeks on the dot. X

DaniCooling · 26/04/2024 10:30

Scan date is now 18/1. Original letter said 8/1 but it appears that was a typo 😭 not ideal but hopefully getting close now!

Bossofthehouse · 26/04/2024 10:31

SAM2409 · 26/04/2024 10:15

He got high rate care - no mobility.

just for reference my son is 4 without an official diagnosis. We know he has severe autism though - non verbal and requires substantial support in all areas.

Yay congratulations 🙌 Did you send in any evidence with your form? I’ve been putting off claiming for my 3 year old because she’s at the start of it all, I was going to wait until I have some evidence or been seen by paediatricians

Naomi2211 · 26/04/2024 10:32

@SAM2409 amazing ! Congrats same date as me !

sayasand · 26/04/2024 10:33

Best of luck to everyone calling today ♥️

I called this morning & they confirmed we were rejected this time 😮‍💨 I more or less expected it because we didn't have a tonne of evidence but we do now. I've been saving all the letters, assessments and paeds letters so they're going into a MR next week. They've advised to call to make the MR as it's faster and then send evidence along. They advised wait time for MRs at the moment are around 10 weeks if this is helpful info for anyone. Puts us into July for ours ♥️

Fuming......So just called stated on phone although iv been waiting since January iv tech been waiting since October as you have to wait 3 months before you can even apply. Stated yesterday alone she had 9 hypos, thats 9 different treatments, some take long to bring back up and you have to treat every 15 mins. So 1 hypo can need 2 treatments for example. She was a yoyo last night, would get her up then she would drop again. Stated this is causing her to have so much time off school (her body is weak today). She stated she would put it as financial hardship?? What 🤦🏻‍♀️????? She said it may not make it get picked up quicker but atleast that note is on system 🤬. I asked i need to know if its even with a d.m. (wouldnt say yes or no) she tried counting my weeks told her, she then said it doesnt go to d.m until 15 weeks (BULLSHIT) then it takes upto a week to get an answer 🤬🤦🏻‍♀️😡

Hmm I think her adding financial hardship will help your case , it’s a little extra note in your favour what do you think?
did you call the quick way or the long way? Maybe speaking to someone else will tell you if it’s with a dm?
I don’t know why they try to gatekeep as much information as possible it’s not making a difference to them! Xx

I did - I sent in a lot tbf. Not sure if all of it was relevant though. I may have just wasted printer paper😂
I sent his EHCP, salt report, report from community paediatrician, risk assessment at school, educational psychologist report, a statement from senco, his reduced timetable plan.

is she in nursery? Cause I also sent his SEN plan from when he was in nursery that outlined a lot of his needs.
your daughter may have one if she’s identified to have SEN in nursery.

not sure if it was used though because he was already in school at the time of the application.

Been watching so many of these threads whilst anxiously waiting. Scan date 23/01 so hopefully not much longer. Anyone else with same/similar scan dates? 💕

Hopefully not much longer for us. I was so good at just forgetting about it all until the last couple of weeks. And now the wait seems to be taking forever!!

It’s all I think about 😩 I wake up, check my bank, check this thread every possibly chance I get. It’s become a bit of an obsession. It’s the unknown isn’t it. Then anxiety kicks in incase we’re rejected. It’s all just such a long process. I’m week 13 today, but judging by recent awards etc, I’d say we’ve got nothing from 1-3weeks 🤞 for awards for our babies 🙏

Iv given up knowing what to think. I know dla is to buy the stuff she needs but iv been doing it just fine the last 6 months so her saying financial hardship has shocked me tbf. I always ring the long way, cant be dealing with the short way 😂 xx

I’m the same. I’m going to try and wait another week and then call. My anxiety is through the roof incase it gets rejected too. I included so much evidence, but I have more evidence from the past week and just trying to determine whether to send it in or just wait incase of a MR. They might not even get it in time. I go round in circles thinking what’s best! Fingers crossed for all of our little ones 💕

Personally I would just send the evidence asap - there have been some threads where scanned on in a day or two - you never know and may help you not having an MR? Just a thought

LancsMcG · 26/04/2024 11:26

Just in relation to quick scans... I sent something on Tuesday (to be signed for) and it was actually scanned on Wednesday (even the guy I spoke to yesterday couldn't believe it)

Aimeecharlie22 · 26/04/2024 11:31

I think I’ll wait for a while before applying for her then so there’s more chance of being awarded, I know she could get it but I don’t think I will get the rate she would be deserved if I apply now. She’s only been at nursery for 4 months and they’ve recognised her needs, health visitor flagged up things at 2 years but never did a follow up appointment so now I need to wait til she’s 4 for another one. The sen is in progress at the moment because they needed to watch her for so long before putting it in place and paediatric appointment I’m still waiting for so right at the beginning of getting help for her

Megmag0294 · 26/04/2024 12:24

Award made yesterday. Scan date 11/01/24. Called today on the off chance. Was given rates, award length etc.

Persianpoppy · 26/04/2024 12:30

Update:

scan date 04/01
still NOTHING. I think I've just cried a years worth of tears in one sitting!
The woman refused to put me through to management, said they're 'busy'.
Genuinely just disheartened now 😔
