I'm unsure on that as I'm on uc ,
My changes with them have been verified and now with a decision maker to backdate disabled child and carers element, I had to request it be backdated though as they don't always do it automatically,

I'm sure if u give them a call they can tell you for certain x

Hey do you know how long it takes after being sent to dm mine got sent to one today I’m on uc xx

Gemp17 · 11/04/2024 16:56

@Jadexxx92 just rang and we've been awarded MRC & LRM until 4th May 2028!

Good luck everyone who's still waiting!

Not dla related but just curious.....School done the camhs referal for our daughter. Eldest school and dr done referal. After only 1 month (eldest took 8 years) we have had contact from asd camhs. Question is....... my eldest was done in one location for camhs but they are doing youngest at another. Is this normal? X

Could be days, weeks or months,
Mine was sent to dm yesterday after taking 7 days for verification team to verify, I've got a face to face appointment Monday so will ask my work coach to see if she can get any idea xx

18/12 as of this Tuesday my sons claim has been with DM.
I've been on the fence of submitting more evidence, such as his new reduced timetable as of next week (15/04).
Given that he may be awarded by then (We live in hope) and I can't gather the schools evidence until Monday at the earliest. He's had 3 suspensions, a partial reduced timetable and now a 1 hour a day at school timetable.
Also in the process of the psychiatric school nursing team.
Would I be better to wait for the decision or gather and send this extra evidence next week?

I hope that made sense.
Also congratulations to all the awards today guys, really happy for each of you 🥰

Ladies I need some help. I did a MR on 29th March. I called today as had letter confirming why it was declined (after requesting it) but also a letter asking for his birthday certificate again?? So i rang them just now to ask why and she couldnt tell me why but said the MR was with a case manager already and had been declined again?!? How is that possible. Ive said on 2 calls since decline that i had further evidence to send in and a letter fighting it. I had a text two days after i submitted the MR saying it may take 4 weeks and the lady on phone didn't understand that either. I am so cross. She said i need to ring tomorrow and they will put me through to case manager?

Fee89 · 11/04/2024 17:48

@MamaM1506 I'd wait and see what they decide and IF you need to do a mr you have the extra evidence there ready x

@mrsclarke89 Ring back at 9am and see if you can have it properly explained to you as that seems weird to ask for birth cert if its already declined x

Iam pleased to see more December dates are getting awarded congratulations 🎉

Justkeepsplashing · 11/04/2024 18:34

I’m December 19, no official diagnosis and no evidence letters to support my application. We have to wait up to three years in my county, to even get the initial Neuro assessment. I’ve sent another letter in to DLA yesterday, as advised by the case worker, with an update on daughter’s decline in emotions and behaviour at home but again, it’s all in my own words.

She enjoys cooking and baking but our cooker broke last year and we’ve been using the small air fryer, I gave in and bought a cooker (2nd hand) this week so she can bake. Yesterday, she spilled a bottle of water over her phone. Today, she came home and said that girls were hitting her for sitting on her own on the bus, so I’d like to get her some headphones.

Im really happy for everyone that’s getting awarded xx

Heya. I’ve just done the child benefit application again now, didn’t have to send anything off thankfully. Also got a text from hmrc saying they’ve received the application, which I didn’t get the first time. Hopeful 🤞
how many days has it been since you did the application again till today xx
i will call DLA after child benefit has been approved 😅 don’t think there would be any point xx
@kristie198

I only did the application online on Monday, I had a text too, but it still wasn’t showing in my online account when I was checking the progress. So I called today to double check it and she said she couldn’t see it 😅 so she did the application over the phone with me there and then. One hurdle crossed thank god 😄 xx

Fee89 · 11/04/2024 16:45

@Jempeech The fact they have your claim is a bonus 😂 the amount iv read lately getting lost is sad.

@Leopardprintleelan i think alot of people are becoming aggitated due to weather getting dry they want their gardens making safe or outdoor things buying to benefit their kids. My daughter pretty much lives outside in nice weather, we have a 100ft garden and she still moans its not big enough 😬 but its when she is at her calmest x

@Fee89 they couldn’t find it at first with my daughters name but did when they did my NI number so I don’t know what difference that could make ? I asked if they could need anymore evidence etc and he said there wasn’t any notes on file so should be fine . I only sent off her diagnosis of ADHD and autism plus the in depth observations recorded by cyps . Plus her teacher filled in the part of who knows her . I’ve mentioned on here before not being sure about having enough evidence etc as when I did it with my son who’s nearly 18 he had piles of paperwork to confirm it and was very quickly awarded HRC and LRM. But with her it was quite obvious and they came to a diagnosis within a few months . I have no doubts she’s entitled to it as she does require a hell of a lot of care than her peers of a similar age and doesn’t sleep hardly so I’ll be intrigued to that they come back with .

Im exactly the same. With my eldest i had so much proof and they actually declined her at first!! We had camhs statements, adhd, asd and tourettes reports. Police ref numbers and hosp discharge letters from her self harming. I cried when i was told it was declined. She then got awarded middle care and low mobility after an MR and phone call to apologise. This time with my youngest its more complex as we are at the very start for adhd & asd as shes now stopped masking as much but she also now has type 1 diabetes. So we dont have as much proof regarding the adhd/asd. But im prepared to fight if need be and we have school on our side thankfully x

Jempeech · 11/04/2024 19:21

@Fee89 yeah it was school who told me to apply as I thought she wasn’t bad enough to qualify but they said she is so I thought why not . I don’t know why we feel we need to jump through hoops to prove when they have got diagnosed etc. but hey go that’s the way they are I suppose . How old are yours ? My daughter is 7 and really starting to show her true colours so dangerous all of the time x

This is what drained me with my eldest. I had to jump through so many hoops mainly to prove it wasnt because i was a young mum!! Its good hearing schools supporting you both. It makes all the difference. My eldest daughter is 17, compared to 4 years ago she is now totally a difference person and i think her old Senco, he was just totally amazing and understood her as a person. I have son 12. And my youngest daughter is 10. Just watching her makes you tired!! She is on the go from morning until 3am. Actually forgot what a full night sleep feels like. Do you see alot of differences between her and your eldest? X

Jempeech · 11/04/2024 20:03

@Fee89 i see lots I mean my son is still very extreme he was in a special needs school and now still really struggles with everything I was lucky he got awarded HRC and HRM with PIP last year. They do have some similarities but I think girls don’t present half as much as boys . I’m a teacher and I see the same with the kids at school. Girls really do mask better . I hope they don’t decline it I can’t be arsed for that haha x

Fee89 · 11/04/2024 20:12

@Jempeech Yeah my eldest got high on both last year aswell on pip and was awarded to 2029. Thinking i got someone in a good mood 😂 . Its so tiring having to prove every detail and then made to feel as though its not as a big deal when infact you wake up every day so bloody exhausted and one wrong word/action your whole day is turned upside down x
