Can someone just clarify for me, the disability element on child tax credit- is that for if your award any rare at DLA as my daughter gets middle rate and gets it, what if you only get low rate?

Magicmushroomsauce · 11/04/2024 13:54

Sent my forms off today (recorded). So will be watching this thread with interest! I know I’ve got a long wait..

We'v all had a colleague that should be named 'kitkat', forever taking a break. They just need a gentle reminder they have work to do 😂

Haha that made me chuckle!! Well I tell myself I'm not going to call again, but I know I bloody will tomorrow! Hopefully they'll get the kick up the bum and speed through their pile now. Im not necessarily worried about an decline I feel that with the meds she's prescribed say it all, and I'll fight it as far as I have to! But i's the not knowing that kills you!

Scan date 16/1. I rang this morning as I have had the appointments I had wrote down I was waiting for and asked if there was time to send in the paperwork. She said I will be waiting till 4th June for a decision anyways so I have plenty of time. I did ask if this will add weeks on but she said no.

I think it's just for middle rate and above x

Mysticwolf9299 · 11/04/2024 14:56

Thank you. If my son gets middle rate do CTC back date. I don't actually know the individual amount they add on. I'm on old style benefits btw. Not UC

Congrats to all those with awards. I’ve still not heard anything and no account payments. Will have to ring Monday as dealing with a sick child now!

mines the 12/1 and I was told by May 1st lol crazy how every agent gives you a different timescale

Jempeech · 11/04/2024 15:08

I’ve just got through after 1 minute (shocked) I sent my beginning of February. The man said it’s being looked at ??? By who or what he wouldn’t say and to expect a response by 9th of July ! But surely if it’s being looked at that won’t take that long who knows ?

Mine was 12/01 too. I think that would be the worst case scenario. I am sure ours will go to DM over the next two weeks. I thought our CoC would be pretty straightforward but now I have seen they decline all of them, I am expecting MR 😔

Edited

I'm unsure on that as I'm on uc ,
My changes with them have been verified and now with a decision maker to backdate disabled child and carers element, I had to request it be backdated though as they don't always do it automatically,

I'm sure if u give them a call they can tell you for certain x

You would think COC would just need a quick review considering you’re already on the system! Honestly they need to uphaul the whole system at this point.
my fingers are crossed that we both hear positive news soon🤞

Mines 8/1 and I was told yesterday that I would have a decision by 22/4 🤣 I won't hold out much hope for that!

Not today, I'll be on to it first thing in the morning

SAM2409 · 11/04/2024 15:44

Lol you would think there would be a brief on what dates they should tell people.
Like if you’re going to lie at least make it consistent😂.

Mines the day before 11/1 so hopefully not long

Fee89 · 11/04/2024 16:11

@Mysticwolf9299 Yes tax credits back date. If you go onto entitledto.co.uk you can do a benefits calculator. Have a play around with different dla levels and it will give you rough idea on your tax credits amounts. Hope that helps xx

Hi, they mean its with a case manager. The claim can be with them for a day upto many weeks. Its a case of how long is a piece of string 😬. Trying to get info out of anyone there is horrible. Good luck x

I think for most its knowing if the fight is over or we have to keep on fighting. Also when you get told different things each time it becomes annoying and we just want the truth xx

Jempeech · 11/04/2024 16:24

Thank you for responding . I suppose this is a good thing that someone is looking at it I suppose xx

Yeah exactly this, just one way or the other I wish I knew now.lol. Hoping to hear of lots of awards tomorrow morning, good luck to everyone 💖

Fee89 · 11/04/2024 16:45

@Jempeech The fact they have your claim is a bonus 😂 the amount iv read lately getting lost is sad.

@Leopardprintleelan i think alot of people are becoming aggitated due to weather getting dry they want their gardens making safe or outdoor things buying to benefit their kids. My daughter pretty much lives outside in nice weather, we have a 100ft garden and she still moans its not big enough 😬 but its when she is at her calmest x

Sarahdestiny · 11/04/2024 16:46

Just thought would update this thread regarding anyone whos putting in for a mr i am Week 8 of my 2 MRs told today I should have a decision by 1 weeks time which will make it week 9 (..if not to ring )
So mrs are currently taking 9 weeks but me and many others have had letters stating they can take up to 15 weeks now the wait is never ending hoping for positive outcome if not it will be tribunal all the way fingers crossed everyone who's putting in for a MR or Tribunal will post when I jave a decision hopefully very soon 😊

Nic9292 · 11/04/2024 16:50

Another thing that is confusing me is I no somebody who’s scan date was October last year and her letter said upto 20 weeks, yet my scan date 13/02 letter says upto 15 weeks. I’m so curious as to if this is true or not, it does get frustration, thinking of you all x
