How’s everyone getting on with UC?
im having a right polava, asked for the backdated elements then received a notice on Journal yesterday I had to literally re-do my entire claim which is bizarre because they needed to verify all my children AGAIN!
mind-blown 😂
not just wait for verification of the award for my son but verify every single child even my ones who don’t receive any disability elements I’m just baffled 🙈
had to do housing costs send in my contract literally it all from scratch!

You shouldn't have to do your entire claim.... your only meant to change children that live with you and tick the DLA box and then change caring for someone that's what I did I'm just waiting in thier reposnse to my back pay as they awarded me the elements today for this month but not for the previous

JacubsMuM · 20/03/2024 10:35

Hi, how you know if your case is already with DM? They tell you that over the phone or you got message?

Destiny35 · 20/03/2024 10:42

@Fudgie9922 i know right! But nope they sent me a massive step to step on my journal of what I had too do!!
I even had to ring them and an agent do it because I was like this is soo confusing! My 2nd son gets enhance PIP so there’s never been an issue like this before but it’s honestly headwork! My daughter and oldest son don’t have any additional needs so I don’t understand why it was needed to verify them also all over again, journal even stated things like please report Kieran for in education on so n so date then had to go back and declare Kieran out of education from so n so then upload my tenancy agreement costs and so forth it’s just mind boggling even the agent went I don’t understand why the claim needs to be started from scratch 🤯 ugh stressful!

Fudgie9922 · 20/03/2024 10:47

@Destiny35 that's so strange 🤔 I had a note on my journal to say he had accepted the change and completed the actions for me maybe that was what he completed 🤣🤣 but it was 2 steps so easy my daughter does get any dla or anything so wierd you had to do it

Destiny35 · 20/03/2024 10:52

@Fudgie9922 very bizarre isn’t it 😂🙈

What’s ur scan date and if you ring they will let you no and let you no how long for and when they have backdated it to that way you can get the ball running with universal credits

CornishMama2 · 20/03/2024 11:59

They told me my claim went to a DM on 06/03 and then a few days later told me 'its in a queue, not with a Dm yet'. Ummmm... ok? How did We get the 06/03 date then? Im soo confused! And the second lady was sooo wishy-washy on the phone. Kept saying short generic sentences without really answering my question.

I'm 8/1, want them to start cracking on with the December claims so we have a bit of light at the end of the tunnel

Mummato4minime · 20/03/2024 12:13

@JacubsMuM they told me via telephone call, when I first rang they said it’s in holding pile then when i called few weeks later they said it’s now with Dm. If you call they will tell you where your at with your claim , hope this helps

Just got through on the phone after 53mins, scan date 24/11. Decision was made yesterday to decline😔.
I have noticed that they seem to decline claims for physical ailments more frequently than neurodivergent issues. She read out all the reasons why it was declined and one of them was that administration of medications were not relevant. She said the letter will come next week if I want to go for MR.

My claim was declined for neuro divergent issues because she's still awaiting a diagnosis even though a diagnosis is not necessary to claim dla, I called to find out the outcome of my claim on 04/03 and the lovey guy I spoke to put my claim straight into MR and told me to send in whatever I could for extra evidence. It really does seem to depend on the decision maker you get and also the call handler you get as to what info they give you and how they help you.

I wish you luck for the MR x

The last I heard was in a holding pile waiting for NI number

Stookey · 20/03/2024 13:03

How much evidence has everyone sent?

I've seen some people saying that they sent no evidence and got an award and other people saying they sent loads and were turned down.

I sent quite a bit of evidence and since the child has started working with an OT, been referred to speech and language, and will likely be referred to a paediatrician on Friday when we see the GP. I haven’t told them about these updates as I have no evidence e.g. copies of the referrals.

I am already at week 16 so wondering if it’s worth posting off a statement to say this or to save it incase they turn me down.

Mummato4minime · 20/03/2024 13:24

I have just got off the phone to them . The guy sounded like he just woke from a nap lol . It seems like they all say different things , when I called last week they said it’s with decision maker. Now they are saying it’s in a que for decision to be made and will up to four weeks before we have a decision. Sooooo frustrating

Mummy335 · 20/03/2024 13:32

My dd renewal decision was made this morning but she said she couldn't tell me what decision had been made due to not been able to see it. Has anyone else had this?

When I rang for my decision initially thats what the guy said to me but then he said hold on its just come through, so I think it might be that a decision is made then it takes some time for the description for the decision to be added x

Thank you. I did ask her why, she just said it's the way the systems are. I was a bit worried as never had that before and she said just to wait for a letter. I might call tomorrow 🤔 as its going to bug me waiting for a letter for 2 weeks lol.
