Hi just after some advice please, scan date 22/12. My daughter has just been accepted onto the ASD & ADHD pathway. School is the one who referred us and they also wrote in the person who knows you part. Would you go to the bother of sending the letters in as supporting evidence by special delivery, hope and stress about it being scanned in time, or just keep it in case I have to do an MR?

Yes always photocopy your letters mark each one with child’s names Date of birth address NI number if they have one and always send special delivery for peace of mind

Rang dead on 9am, got through straight away to a lovely chap called Phil, he was ready to help me and then the line went dead 😭😭😭😭. Now on hold 🤦‍♀️

kristie198 · 22/03/2024 09:10

kristie198 · 22/03/2024 06:24

Are you phoning today x

Not today. Yesterday’s long hold time took it out of me….then to be told it’s not seen yet just infuriated me. Think I’ll call next week.
are you calling?xx

Emmajm85 · 22/03/2024 07:27

I’m 17/11, but with a DM for a few weeks now. Waiting for NI number apparently. So could be here a while yet. It’s so long and frustrating. Have I seen you say somewhere that they dont need to generate an NI for your little one? Sorry I get confused who’s said what 😂 xx

Edited

its so frustrating right !
no hun I’ve only ever been told they need NI number before even going to a DM and a decision being made.
have you been phoning up ? Have they told you it’s been seen by decision maker ?xx

Yes I'm now doing ot

HRL · 22/03/2024 09:42

Just got through , was told it would take 16 weeks before being seen by a DM then take a couple of weeks after to get a decision 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 , don’t think they know themselves really as when I rang last time they said I’d hear by first week in April.

MimiRae · 22/03/2024 09:47

Scan date 4/12 🫶🏼

I rang on Tuesday and she said in holding pile and will hear around 8th April.

Rang at 9am today - only 15 minute wait - never ringing at another time again 😅

Lovely young lad said it’s gone to DM and will hear any day now maximum a week 🫶🏼

kristie198 · 22/03/2024 10:05

@KatexCR have you got through yet I'm now on hold

kristie198 · 22/03/2024 10:07

@Emmajm85 I'm 17/11 mines been with a DM for a couple off weeks and there just waiting on my daughters NI number

Shabutie · 22/03/2024 10:07

Finally parking 🚗

Long time lurker! Scan date 20/12 applying for the 1st time.

Received 2 letters and no text.

Phoned this morning after a 45 minute wait. Been told I'm 13 weeks into my claim and that it has been passed to a DM. I suggested ringing back in a month if I don't hear anything, which he said yes as I should by then! Fingers crossed.

Seems lots of mixed info from the call handlers, although he was lovely.

I think I’m going to give them a day off from me today, hopefully they worry when I haven’t rang by 3 and ring me 😂😂

Does anyone know how long carers allowance new claims are taking ?

I have been waiting for 9 weeks and I think I will be waiting for a lot longer. They need to backdate my claim to September so quiet anxious about getting mine sorted. I think if you work or self employed, studying and not on UC they take forever. People that are on UC or not working seem to get theirs sorted super quickly.
I have rang many times and complained but still waiting. Also, I find the call handlers have a lot less costumer care manners....

@Mamadesgarcons @kristie198 got through after going back on hold from being cut off and spoke to a lovely lady. She said it's gone to case manager (didn't ask when it went as I was just excited to know that it had been allocated).
Added some stuff for me to the application and said to give it 10 days and then call back if I have not heard anything or the award hasn't landed in my bank so they can escalate it. She apologised for the delays to answering and the length of time it's taken. I hope I get her if I ring again lol x
