Hi, realise I’m at the very start of what looks like a long wait, but can I ask, did people get confirmation that their application had been received within the 2 weeks it says? Posted mine 7th March (realise that’s literally only just 2 weeks) and have had no confirmation of receipt. Just wanted to see if I needed to sit on hold for hours to check, or if it was usual for this to take ages too? Thanks all

My letter came after 4 weeks saying they recieved my application

My sons 4 years old, i just sent in his pupil passport and his teacher wrote what je struggles with. Hes still awaiting his official diagnosis.

No I never got confirmation, I rang about 4 weekda after I sent it and they told me the date then but received a letter about 2 weeks after I rang up.

I didn’t apply for any of my kids. Just put the application in now. Missed out on 5yrs 🤦‍♀️

Finally got through, due to go to a dm next week...fingers crossed that's actually the case!
I was panicking abit as I'd forgotten to send my daughters care needs as extra evidence in with the claim, and only found the paperwork yesterday morning as I was sorting out, so sent it special delivery, they recieved it today and the lady I spoke to said it was all scanned in and the dm would take that into consideration aswell!

7/12, 15 weeks today, the lady i spoke to said going to dm next week, then to expect another 2 week wait for a decision xx

I've no idea why I'm bothering calling at this time of day, I'll never get through 😫. Plus I've got my daughter bouncing off the walls and spinning at top speed in the living room, driving me bananas 🤦‍♀️

I spoke with someone today and they just said sorry not with anyone yet. Scan date is 06/12

I didn’t ask when it would be going to a DM. To be honest they all seem to say different !

Me too. I spoke to them last Friday and they said it was due to go to someone this week and to give them 2 more weeks to get an answer, but I don't think I can believe them lol x

Just wanted to update.
scan date 22/11
had 2 letters and a text on the 4/3
phoned on 8/3 was told in holding pile and could take 3-5 weeks, phoned again on the 15/3 and told it’s with a DM but could take 2-3 weeks and checked my bank today and have a payment from them x

I don’t think I’m understanding the DLA office job titles…

so what is a caseworker? My understanding is that it’s someone who looks at the case, asks for any relevant supporting evidence from different bodies etc.

what is a decision maker? My understanding of this is that they’re after the case worker and they make a decision on if you qualify for DLA?

This morning I’ve heard the term “Case manager” what is one of those?

can anyone tell me if my thinking is correct please? 🤔

According to the people who answer the phones at DLA case worker, case manager and decision maker are all the same thing, it's just what thry want to call themselves. Then again the amount of stories you get told. I wouldn't believe that either 🤷🤣 x
