Just had the case manager call me, said she’s looking at it this afternoon and asked for a couple more questions about her night time needs. She’s hoping to make a decision this afternoon, sat on tender hooks now! 😭😭😭

Kc1999x · 11/10/2024 14:00

I’d be calling back later before they close. Fingers are crossed for you!!

Yayyyyy love seeing this! Congrats🎉

Kc1999x · 12/10/2024 12:17

so I’ve sent a lot of evidence for HRM, waiting on my outcome for MR, I’ve just had a letter from the school nurse stating that they tried to do measurements on my son as he was “unable” to participate- something along them lines. Do you think if I send this along side a letter from myself to add to the evidence they’d accept it. My child won’t cooperate with any form of observation from anyone unless physically restrained or sedated. and obviously the nurses aren’t going to do that but this is due to his autism. If any of this makes sense. He’s refusals and what not are not conscious choices and the fact they’ve said he was “unable” I just thought it may help. I have already sent EHCP, ed psych report, nursery report, care plan, risk assessment, letter from senco, paediatrics report, diagnosis, speech and language, so on so forth🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Has anyone got a rough timescale on tribunal, submitted mine September 9, got a text a couple of days ago asking me to sumbit any further evidence soon. Probably the wrong place to ask but worth a shot

Bearintheredhat · 19/10/2024 11:58

@Charzoe13
I logged an appeal at the start of July, submitted further evidence in August, the date for the hearing hasn’t been set yet.

I was hoping it would be heard before December, but that’s based on no facts.

Hi I have been a silent watcher and I just wanted to post my long awaited positive outcome to hopefully be able to give people hope through this awful process.
I first applied in January (Scan date 17th jan) for my 2 year old boy (birthday is christmas eve so just turned 2) he has pica and is also on the waiting list for adhd/Austism assessment, he has very high care needs, 24/7 supervision because no danger awareness, he cannot communicate and at the minute is classed as non verbal, he does not sleep longer than 3/4 hours and when waking in the night needs constant supervision because he will do dangerous stuff and try and hurt himself he also has a lot of sensory issues. I sent in extra evidence such his report from his first pediatric appointment, audiology reports and health visitor reports. It got declined on the 7th of May and I put in a mandatory reconsideration on the 13th of may, I did it over the phone but then also sent a 12 page detailed letter about his care needs, added I had now had to give up work in April to care for him, doctors letter, health visitor letter, nursery letter (he started in April), sleep and eating diary. It got declined again on the 13th of September. I put in a appeal on the 1st of October with the help of my local citizens advice and today 21st of October my son has been awarded high rate care. Honestly cant believe it!! I hope this helps some people

Thankyou so much :) I had been checking online everyday to see if any response had been made and I clicked on there yesterday and it said case closed so I rang dla and the lady told me over the phone the decision had been changed from no award to high rate care x

Someone on FB Dla page just posted they received MR decision and their scan date 28th May. Going to be long wait…,

Kc1999x · 28/10/2024 12:09

scan date is the 18th of July. Nearly at the original 15 week mark🙃 looks like another 10 weeks to go for us

Shels2019 · 31/10/2024 22:02

Hey SEND Mamas, update! MR scan date 3rd June. Originally awarded Higher rate care no mobility until 25/09/25 was hoping for higher rate Mobility as my daughter 4year old daughter who is autistic and meets the criteria for higher rate mobility. Got my decision letter today and she was awarded lower rate mobility from 20/11/2024 as she will be turning 5 November 19th. But I still know for a fact that she is entitled to the highest rate of mobility. I’m in 2 minds to take it to tribunal as her awarded runs out next year.

Kc1999x · 01/11/2024 10:47

have they extended your award? I put in a coc for my child for the mobility, they declined mobility but extended the award till 2032, he’s 5 in jan and that’s when his renewal was..

Kc1999x · 01/11/2024 10:48

Personally I think if your child qualifies fight them all the way, currently doing an MR for the mobility and will take it to tribunal. Too many of our children get over looked

Did anyone's award get lowered after a MR

Mumrobyn4 · 09/11/2024 14:31

Recently awarded hrc and lrm and have put in a mr for hrm, now I think my daughter does qualify for hrm but wondering has anyone had a award lowered after a mr xx

Abwill · 12/11/2024 13:30

@Mumrobyn4 hi I've just done exactly the same- we have had hrc and lrm for 4 years it has just been renewed for the same for another 2 years but I feel my son's needs with his age would qualify for for hrm now rather than lrm so I sent a mr letter on Friday but now I'm having a panic thinking I hope it doesn't change anything else and also how long is the wait time now , because from what I've seen on here it looks like months when I've known it only take 2 weeks in the past ! X

Mumrobyn4 · 13/11/2024 11:49

Same, I have cancelled the mr now, I rang up and cancelled it as I didn't want to risk her award which has been renewed for 8 years, I didn't ring and ask for a statement of reasons to do the mr I just asked them to look again, so may wait for more evidence before applying for hrm xx
