Started this thread to help people pass the time and also communicate time frames and outcomes going through the process of a MR

Has anyone got any experience of them suddenly changing their minds when you put a tribunal application in? I'm expecting a decline and have an EHCP for my son which we had to go to tribunal for to make changes, so I'm well versed in tribunals (and I sent the fact we won this tribunal off to them too). A lot of people say this, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience of this or knows someone who has?

We have sent everything but the kitchen sink off for our application, so think if they decline it would be either over a very minute detail or they are literally breaking the law and delaying, of which I think the latter is more likely as we did explain in detail why we qualify in the MR citing the evidence we sent.

Hey people, I’d been awarded but I don’t agree with the rate. About to put in for a MR over the phone, by the looks of it I’ll be waiting until October. I don’t feel they took my child’s nighttime care into consideration. He’s up at stupid o’clock doing everything and anything he can which means I too have to be up! Wish me luck guys

15/03 just had a phonecall with a decline. The guy told me to appeal, even though he made decision. Apparently not enough evidence of night time needs, mobility and school. Just for your information. Good luck everyone

I sent an email of adjustments, from school. We didn't have ehcp, which went against us. Letter from rheumatology, cardiology, general paediatric doctor. He's advised me to get a GP letter (surprised me as so many specialists letters provided), more evidence from school, I need to get orthotics letter. I'm going to do OT self referral, which I've been meaning to do for ages anyway. Seems to be real luck of the draw!

That's the most frustrating part, is that it's stressful enough. I've literally been sat here, just thinking that. Now I've got to gather more evidence, for a tribunal. You might be luckier and get someone who understands. Weirdly he said go to appeal, when he'd made the decision. If he thinks I should appeal, surely he agrees she should get it. So much depends on the wording and what's been discussed in appointments.

Matilde08 · 12/07/2024 13:19

Hi, ladies 💐 I have finally finalised my MR letter and have to send it out today as not much time left. Super nervous.. does address where to sent my letter with evidence is the same on decision letter ? As that address seems odd for claim of 9 year old one. But my boys claim is unusual and decision has not been made accordingly his special needs, but family circumstances. And been treated like he's and adult 🙄

This is the address on my son's decision letter:

DLA
Working Age
Mail Handling Site A
Wolverhampton WV982GJ

Hello,
Yes sure.
So.. I did rang up 9 days ago and the lady did say that my MR claim is due to expire on 29th of July.
She did told me that it was still holding a pile up and I should call back to enquire if I haven't heard nothing still by 29ty of July.
We will get a decision by end July most definitely I know it will come soon and the wait will be worth it 🙏xx

Hi I originally applied in October for my son who has bowel incontinence. Sent off relevant evidence but don't think I properly explained his needs as I didn't get help with the forms. Have done MR and since sent off a letter properly explaining his daytime and nighttime needs, medication regime & side effects and I have drs letters confirming what I have told them. I have sent a further detailed letter from his nursery with information on his needs and their input too. I'm hoping this will give me some sort of award.

My MR scan date is 28/03 I still haven't heard anything but I also haven't called up because I'm too nervous. Does anyone else have a scan date around this time that are still waiting?

I hope so Im dreading having to go to tribunal . My dd could really do with some extra help as there’s no place in a disability school and isn’t allowed a mainstream setting . At least we fight for our babies but it’s a hard fight ! Xxx

Hey! Thank you so much! It sounds like a decision will be imminent for me. I've got very little hope it will be approved. I could cry thinking about it to be honest! I've got everything crossed though!

Stumidwife · 16/07/2024 12:11

I just called and got through 1st time!
I wanted to update that my son is now having OT every week. The guy on the phone was very friendly and said my Mr was received 9th April so I should have a Decision on 23rd July but they are currently running a bit over do if I haven't heard 1st week in August to call.
What kind of evidence should I send for the OT? Do I need a letter from the OT with a plan do you think? Just wondering what I can get quick enough!

Xchels · 16/07/2024 12:27

I got put through to a case manager this morning who told me they are currently working on the 2nd April. Hope this helps xx
