Started this thread to help people pass the time and also communicate time frames and outcomes going through the process of a MR

@NGTMamma congratulations

what was your MR date please?

In terms of payment - that should come through in next few days, you'll receive a letter in about two weeks

You could phone and ask them to give you your rates probably options 5-2-2 I'd use

MR date was February 19th (I think)
I did call at 6 weeks as I was originally told 6-8 weeks, and they said it was taking 15 weeks…but I had a lovely lady on the phone & I explained that this has been going on now since the start of June last year, over 8months! She transferred me to another department/woman who was able to expedite it- she said I’d hear something in 2 weeks and it’s just over 2 weeks from that call.

HI all, just called again and got through to the team looking at MRs and they are up to 9th February now

I did mention that there seemed to be some inconsistencies with when people were hearing back from the MRs and he assured me that they were being worked in date order

Anyway - I'll call again next week

(I sent in a ECHP needs assessment referall that nursery had completed and I only sent it Tuesday (to be signed for) and it was actually scanned on yesterday ! (The call handler said even he was surprised)

Emmal1234567 · 25/04/2024 11:34

I’ve also just rung mine is currently with decision maker and will receive letter oh call within 2 weeks with decision they said

LancsMcG · 25/04/2024 11:38

@Emmal1234567 good luck and please update us

LancsMcG · 26/04/2024 13:44

Was hoping to hear some more good news stories on here with it being the end of the week

Sarahdestiny · 26/04/2024 16:45

Was told today mines still in a pile not even being looked at so 🙄 looks like another 2 weeks wait

sjm100 · 29/04/2024 10:12

@Sarahdestiny I'm so sorry its ridiculous the amount of time they expect us to wait when life is already difficult enough, I'm not even ringing them, I'm week 8 today, my daughter is 16 in 4 weeks, I'm expecting another decline but will be applying for PIP once she is 16 xx

LancsMcG · 29/04/2024 10:13

Hoping for some good news all round this week
Sending my best and hope to everyone

Sarahdestiny · 29/04/2024 15:15

Still not heard anything regarding MR submitted 16/2 just keep saying backlog so gonna try wait it out til Friday to ring again
Also submitted to tribunal today for my other MR decline says that dwp have u til 3rd June to reply to tribunal before they arrange a hearing ( still awaiting more evidance in the post which has not yet came to back up my claim ) hoping this comes 1 day this week so I can't send it in to tribunal and dwp fingers crossed we all have decisions soon 😀

LancsMcG · 29/04/2024 15:36

@Sarahdestiny sorry it's had to go to tribunual stage :(
Hopefully they might come to the senses and settle accordingly before that

I am going to call tomorrow morning for my MR (dated 19/02) - not expecting anything - but nevertheless I'll phone in the hope!

Sarahdestiny · 29/04/2024 15:43

@LancsMcG yh I got letter through today stating reasons why basically not enough evidance so not accepting it under smi & school haven't backed up what I've said so 🙃 God knows just have wait for evidance I'm wanting to send & his school have always been useless can't stand them lol & yh ul have let us no what they say x

LancsMcG · 29/04/2024 17:01

I've just phoned for an update (I couldn't resist) only holding for about 18 minutes..

So they put me through to a case manager (again) and he said that they were up to the 9th February (I'm sure that's the date they gave me the other day).

I told them that my boy's situation is getting more complex day by day and he's got lots of referrals in etc - he said the only thing he could do is to escalate it and say it was affecting the situation and someone above him would make the decision if it could be looked at quicker

So we've gone for that approach

Let's see if anything materialises

I know everyone is in the same boat when it comes to MR but from filling the forms in, in October - so much more has happened in terms of paying for a private consultant, multiple referalls at nursery, referalls for SaLT, Eyes, hearing, Ed Psych, EHC needs assessment - compared to now (than in October) his needs are so much more (he's 44 months and 2 professionals have him in the ADD, as well as suspected FASD, and Neontal abstience syndome (caused by birth mum taking large amounts of hard drugs during pregnancy (he's adopted)

QweenB · 29/04/2024 17:45

Long time lurker here. Ive sent in my MR on the 6th of feb. I was calling every week to be told different things. I called today and after 1hr and 30mins on hold i was passed to a case manager who said shes been awarded. Its been a long battle since July 2023. I hope you all get your good news and ultimately your DC get what they rightly deserve.

LancsMcG · 29/04/2024 18:11

@QweenB congratulations
can i ask was it an initial decline or a lower rate than you expected

(we got awarded LRC initially and put MR in for a higher rate (would be happy with MRC)

Thank you, yes sure. She was awarded MRC when it should of been HRC at least. DD has ASD and does not sleep through the night. Even though ive noted that in the Initial claim and had provided letter from GP to show shes on melatonin. The decision maker completely overlooked it and said she does not need night supervision and sleeps well through the night. My DD has no awareness to danger and puts random objects up her ears and nose and mouth. She had to go a procedure to remove it under general anaesthesia. I swear some of these decision makers are not doing the job properly as ive sent in all the evidence. Once i done the MR, ive asked her SENCO and GP to write a letter in support of this and i sent in a letter from the Ed Psych and I kept a weeks diary of her care needs.
