So just an update. I called this morning and got told my son was awarded yesterday, middle rate care, low rate mobility. Absolutely over the moon for him, it’s definitely going to benefit him! The award is only for 2 years but that makes sense as speech can improve in that time, but with him being diagnosed with DLD and as it continues in to adulthood, I know this is going to be an ongoing thing, but I’ll deal with the renewal when necessary, for now it’s white noise.

so my scan date was 9/11. Don’t give up hope! I have everything crossed for all of you still waiting for a decision. I know that phone call is nerve wracking, I was practically forgetting to breathe when she was checking the outcome, but don’t give up hope and keep fighting for what your child deserves, you know them best ❤️❤️❤️

That’s fantastic news. So pleased for you.

Mamoftads3 · 05/03/2024 10:14

On hold now, scan date 9/11, not feeling hopeful at all, I don't think a decision will have been made but I have a gut feeling that it'll be a decline when they do make a decision. I feel sick 🫣

STEPH691 · 05/03/2024 10:19

@Mothertothreeboys mine still wouldn’t tell me when went to a DM said they can’t see it on there system. lies 😂😂 hopefully we will hear by end of the week. 🤞🤞

MissHavershamReturns · 04/03/2024 21:58

Dla form received by them 19/12. Never got a scan date or a text but got two letters to confirm received in Feb stating 19/12 as the date.

Edited

One day after me! Hopefully we dont have a long wait

bonz2023 · 05/03/2024 10:30

Same scan date as me! Good luck. Your doing well to ring I haven't got the balls but if I don't hear anything by Monday next week I might ring. Hope you get some good news x

Gemmaoscar · 05/03/2024 10:41

@bonz2023 takes 3 days so prob Wednesday or Thursday at a guess x

CornishMama2 · 05/03/2024 10:41

Going by the awards posts on here, I should hopefully get awarded mid-end of April. My Son turns 5 2-4 weeks later.
I did fill out all of the mobility stuff on the forms.
With such a small gap between potential award and turning 5, will I have to reapply for mobility? Or will they award mobility with a start date of his 5th birthday? (first claim)

Mamoftads3 · 05/03/2024 10:41

I rang last week and it was in the waiting pile! Hoping it's at least being looked at, fingers crossed 🤞🏼 x @lillyT83

I haven't rung them at all so prob due a phone call lol I just don't want someone rude and that's putting me off. Good luck x

SkittleFox · 05/03/2024 10:45

@Mrslane2019 awe thank you love, it really is a relief. Xx
@bonz2023 same as me award length then, at least we don’t need to worry about it for a while eh? See ya back on here in like.. a years time when we’re stressing over the renewal? 😂😂
@STEPH691 Yeah they’re talking absolute crap there, they know when it’s picked up by a decision maker, unless they come straight out and tell you they don’t want to tell you. Apparently they then access a different system to get the result.

@bonz2023 did you get a text yet saying your child qualifies? Woman on the phone asked me if I’d had a text and said “usually when you’re awarded you get a text message through” this was before she gave me the result? Xx

Sunflower1808 · 05/03/2024 10:46

@bonz2023 congratulations 🎊 im so happy for you you must be so relieved x

sjm100 · 05/03/2024 10:47

quick question: I'm planning my letter for MR, the guy I spoke with yesterday said that he was placing it in MR yesterday and I didn't need to send anything extra but if I did to put ref etc on paper work. Would my scan date for the MR be yesterday? I don't have much else to send because the school is being really unhelpful, I'm guessing they spoke to her head of year who hasn't actually had a conversation with my daughter but can tell DLA that she matches her peers with no additional support, but have letters showing I've tried to get her on the adhd/asd pathway for 2 years since being referred by the GP. People who see my daughter in person can see the traits also, this is so frustrating. Back to the question, would the extra info I have be enough and would the MR date be yesterday or when they scan the extra info?

It happened automatically with mine, I never had to reapply, I am confused as to why so many people here have had to do renewals. Maybe they had made it tougher in the last few years?

Just called to update medications etc,
took 1hr 15mins to get through

said it should go to a DM next week, if I’ve heard nothing in two weeks time to call back.

EasygoinyAmy · 05/03/2024 10:56

Hey everyone, I need some help. So I’ve spoken at length with my little boys teacher and we are arranging a meeting to put evidence together for the right to choose pathway. It’s been three long years to get to this point but the school
have been supportive. He was age retained at the start of the school year after the year one teacher noticed he was withdrawn amongst other things. He had a tonsillectomy and grommets in February that have made little differenc. I’ve started to keep a diary, so do i need anything else. The next time he has a meltdown should I record this? I’m just struggling to navigate this and then on top DLA. 😢😢😢
