Omg, did you have a woman who said “I don’t like to say it it’s with a decision maker but I assure you if awarded you won’t lose out on any money”? 😂😂😂 I’ve had her before, she wouldn’t tell me if it was with a DM. Turned out it wasn’t but still! Xx

@MummyJones94 all I sent was senco at nursery statement, referal acceptance letter for autism, speech and language referal and hearing test results I didn’t have much to send at all x

Does anyone know if there’s an option to listen to an automated message on ‘when your next payment is due’ when you call the DLA helpline? I have a vague memory of seeing someone say that you can always check that to see if you’ve been awarded rather than wait on hold to speak to an adviser? I could be totally making them up / misremembering though!

How long does it take for the letter to come?

I know it will have ran out by time I know how long she's been awarded for! Can't believe i didn't ask yesterday! I'll be gutted if it's only a year and I have to go through all this again soon

@bonz2023 I totally forgot we will have to go through all this again bet mine is a year cause he’s only 2 if urs if off school age they tend to be longer awards xx

If your awarded (been waiting a year for a renewal) but then have a letter from a doctor (come through days after been awarded) stating a new diagnoses (actually it's a long term illness which has got worst) but the Doctor has explained this in a letter and all the medication having to take etc.

Would you send this in ? or leave it as don't want to go through the whole COC or opening a can of worms seems you've just been awarded.

Really not sure what to do ?

Hi to those that have been awarded already (fantastic news!) I don’t have a diagnosis yet and I only included a statement from her teacher in the person that knows you part and a copy of the referral letter. Thank you.

that’s basically what I have included for my 3yr old son. Statement from his senco in the person who knows you part , copies of his safety plans and senco minutes from meetings , his full detailed initial SLT report and acceptance onto the asd pathway letter . X

This is the longest holding I have ever done got straight through yesterday. It’s making me more nervous 😬

So just an update. I called this morning and got told my son was awarded yesterday, middle rate care, low rate mobility. Absolutely over the moon for him, it’s definitely going to benefit him! The award is only for 2 years but that makes sense as speech can improve in that time, but with him being diagnosed with DLD and as it continues in to adulthood, I know this is going to be an ongoing thing, but I’ll deal with the renewal when necessary, for now it’s white noise.

so my scan date was 9/11. Don’t give up hope! I have everything crossed for all of you still waiting for a decision. I know that phone call is nerve wracking, I was practically forgetting to breathe when she was checking the outcome, but don’t give up hope and keep fighting for what your child deserves, you know them best ❤️❤️❤️

So happy for all of you who were awarded this morning ♥️ My date is 13/11 and I’ve been on hold for 45 mins. I doubt it’s been reviewed yet but it’s the only gap in my work calendar I have to call this week sooo 🤞
