@Mumzieof1 Hi just wondering if you called about an update to your MR?
think i've seen people on here say they are on week 9 / week 11
I've a long way to wait - i'm on week 1 of my MR

Hi, yes I rang she said it's not even with a DM yet and been 9 weeks. She did say they should be taking only 7 weeks so she said she'd email the MR team. It just proves there's no communication between them all as I did get a letter from MR department telling me 11 weeks. Why don't they relay this info to the call handlers. Good luck x

Hi sorry don’t know if ime posting in the right thread , my son has recently been diagnosed with severe dld , does anyone know if I can claim dla for this ?

Emma2345 · 23/02/2024 22:48

@Donna2310 hi dla isn’t just based on diagnosis it’s about the extra care attention or supervision they need so I would definitely look into applying or apply for him if he requires more care or attention then a child of the same age without a disability or any health problems hope this helps x

Fed up now did Mr 04/01 had a letter saying they are taking 15 weeks so after a 20 week wait to be declined you gotta wait another 15 weeks

Well that makes sense now. My MR scan date was 21/12/23, I received one letter in feb 2stating 11 weeks then 2 days later received another stating 15 weeks, I rang and was told 15 weeks is a generic latter sent out and to ignore it I'm now 9 weeks and I've rang and now been told MR should be 7 weeks so they'll email MR team but seems alot are receiving 15 week letters. But it seems like the departments don't communicate so it possibly could be 15 weeks... which will be 40 weeks since I rang for the forms! Wow! Good luck x

We've been turned down, scan date 15/09 and decision 23/01. Hadn't received a letter, or anything so rang today. It's so frustrating, as daughter has a long list of problems and symptoms. Because she doesn't use mobility aids and adjustments at school, aren't seen as substantial. Night time, doesn't require enough support to count. Also because uses over counter pain relief, despite We've begged docs for something stronger, or referral to pain management! MR here we come! I think it's disgusting tbh. What i have to do for her, above and beyond the needs of an average child her age is crazy!

hi i’m not sure what date it was passed to the decision maker but i had my first letter about 5weeks ago saying it was with the decision maker

Naomie6161 · 16/03/2024 19:05

Hey Mums, congrats to all that have been awarded so far, not sure if you’re aware but those of you that are on UC you’ll be able to claim carer’s element and disabled child element from UC and if you request it both elements can be backdated from the date of your DLA start date. Hope this helps some of yous.

Zarahpoppp · 27/03/2024 11:15
