I'm week 9 today, I was told 11 weeks on a letter received.

Wow so this is careers element backdated? How much roughly have people recieved backdated with the disabled child element aswell and say middle rate care DLA?

Just wondering does this push people over the limit of allowed savings or do they not count this.

Sorry new to all this, this is the first time I have claimed

Also when you inform UC and put in request for backdated payment do you just say applied on such a date and have been awaiting decision?

I called for DLA form 9th November. Was scanned 30th Nov ( sent form recorded signed for delivery so i had confirmation they had it) .

I called end of Dec and they said they had sent a letter out dated 20th Dec saying they had received the form . I got a letter end of Jan dated 17th Jan saying it would take up to 15 weeks from the date of the letter for a decision. Also waiting for a decision so I can update my Uc and add the disabled child element.

I’ve never received a text message , just the letter.

My 3yr old son is on the ASD pathway awaiting assessment since Sept ‘23. Applied for dla after being advised I was able to by my sons senco, Hv and other professionals involved.

Just a Waiting game now. Is there anyone with a similar scan date to myself ?

I found the turn2us benefits calculator really helpful in if I should get carers allowance or element. It advised I can't claim for CA so I made sure UC knew to use the Carers Element instead x

This is encouraging. My son’s scan date was 30/11. So shouldn’t be too much longer

@Marie156 hi just seen you was awarded with scan date 8/11 can I ask when you called for the forms I’m 22/11 but I only requested forms a week before on 13/11 xx

Can anyone help with rates? I was paid £2454.35 scan date 5/10 award text 20/02, never applied for dla before and was just waiting for the letter x

Looks like HRC and LRM. They award from the Tues after scan date and give £10 Xmas bonus so if you take £10 off and divide by 19 that’s the rates it’s giving when I work it out.

The wait for a MR is a joke, I'm going to ring in the morning for an update. Good luck with yours.

@Keddie I did see on thread 31 someone said hers took 3 months. So I'm not impressed now lol x

Randomly I had a payment of £185 last Friday but heard nothing more since. I called earlier this week and the woman who answered didnt even check my account just told me to wait and it had no time frames ! x

I requested my back pay from UC on the 16th, i received payment yesterday. Amazing how time frames differ.

Its mad isnt it? A friend of mine got Backpay the next day ! This has been almost 3 weeks now x

So I feel a little silly I sent forms off with no evidence because I didn't read it all properly anyways I gave them all the hospitals he in currently with as these are for different things ect ect he was in icu back in Nov 22 on a ventilatior as he became too tired to breathe this was shortly before his asthma diagnosis and hes in the wait list for a autism assessment as he doesn't really talk and been with speech and language for a year now (started when he was 2) he's in a special Ed nursery. They sent me a letter requesting his birth certificate and I sent that off before Christmas (scan date 20/11) they sent me back his birth certificate last week but I have no heard anything has anyone had anything similar? I don't really want to ring them as I know they are all super busy just wondering if anyone had the same.

Scan date 23/10. Just called up and daughter has been awarded LRM and LRC. They said the decision was made 2 days ago.

Hi! My son has been getting MRC and LRM for many years now but now he is 12, teacher said he should be entitled to higher rate as he needs 121 sometimes 221 care in school.
Called end of December and sent the form 03/01. I received a letter saying it would take 11 weeks which will be beginning of April. Does a CoC take less time than a new claim? I am confused your decisions are taking so long.
We were migrated to UC this month and new payment was less than 50% of tax credits… I was so worried! I did query it via message and they have now added a carer element and a transitional one which is slightly better. Just in case someone else has these missing!

Anyone still waiting with scan date 24th October? I rang yesterday and said been with decision maker since 18th and can’t tell me
time scale but can see on here some have been awarded from November xx

Could someone help. I got my carers allowance sorted and als9 received backpay will they deduct the whole amount from my universal credit in one go. Thanks
