DLA Mandatory Reconsideration

Sent off for mandatory reconsideration straight away and it was recieved by DLA on 23rdOctober23.

I rang this morning for an update as it has been with a decision maker since 6thNov so nearly 2 weeks and still no decision!
Has anyone around the same time frame as me heard back recently for mandatory reconsideration ? If so has anyone been successful and how long did you wait to hear about a decision ?
I have heard mandatory reconsiderations are more no’s than yes’s!

Hi, I’ve sent off for a Mandatory Reconsiderstion on the 7th Nov. Original scan date was 29/06. I still haven’t heard anything as of yet. Fingers crossed it isn’t too long 🤞

Hi i seen a post from someone it took 15days total for a decision as she had to call them herself and ask. She was awarded after her MR. I submitted my MR 10th nov hopefully should hear from them soon.@ARH36 i hope your decision is made this week good luck.

@Specialchild2019 thank you that’s great to hear! I submitted the MR on the 7th Nov, fingers crossed you get an answer this week too 🤞 I think I’ll give them a call Wednesday.

Thank you please let me know how you get on? Sometimes the DM does do further investigation as in ring the school or any proffessional involved and do give a decision after that so it can take them over a week after the response they get back. Also sometimes they do ring the parents to ask further questions and let. Them know you have been awarded fingers crossed as i feel my evidence was not looked at and have to send in more evidence.

@Specialchild2019 Of course I’ll keep you all updated. I’ll panic if they ring me, I’m a nervous wreck with phone calls! 🤣 I’m worried about the evidence too, I’ve sent a tonne in for the MR I just hope they actually read it 🤞

I don’t think I’ll appeal if the MR is declined. I’m worried the evidence I’ve sent won’t be enough, did you send much?

I have sent in loads of evidence for mobility etc paedititrician, ot and sent smi and vuw criteria how i fit for both, sent blue badge and nursery last setting report. Hopefully you should get awarded its not about diagnosis its about how much you do for the child. If you wrote down amount of things you do.

I think I should have asked for advice when filling out the original form. I didn’t make a copy of what I had sent, really wish I did now. I did send ASD referral forms, Eyfs records, an entire early help assessment, letters from practitioner and nursery teacher and SALT for the MR, don’t think there’s much else I could have done 🙈

You have enough evidence dw, it depends on what type of dm u have. Did you apply for mobility or care component?

I hope we both get nicer DMs. I originally filled out the form for both components but I only asked for the care component to be reconsidered.

Hopefully we wil🤭 try ringing them today as you are 3 days ahead of me see if it is with the dm 🤪

@Specialchild2019 I’m having the same problems as yesterday, I press all the options and get cut off rather that in the queue. It’s maddening

How did you get on? Yeh alot of ppl know when to ring now at 9am. Try with them now see if you get connected.

I couldn’t get through but I’m currently trying again, been on hold 18 minutes. Another hour to go maybe? 🤔🙈🤣
