DLA Mandatory Reconsideration

Rejected 29thSeptember23
Sent off for mandatory reconsideration straight away and it was recieved by DLA on 23rdOctober23.

I rang this morning for an update as it has been with a decision maker since 6thNov so nearly 2 weeks and still no decision!
Has anyone around the same time frame as me heard back recently for mandatory reconsideration ? If so has anyone been successful and how long did you wait to hear about a decision ?
I have heard mandatory reconsiderations are more no’s than yes’s!

I’ve managed to get straight through this morning. It’s still waiting to be given to a decision maker, they’re taking 4-6 weeks for MRs

Hi omg did you do your MR over the phone?i think they lie about the time frame I remeber with me i rang them and they made up the time frame literally the next day my case was looked at and decision was made and i tried calling again 2 days after and they said it was declined so i then did the MR, i spoke to someone her case took 23 days in total. See what happen😖

Yes I did it over the phone, I’ll be at 4 weeks on Tuesday. All we can do is wait

Hi tried calling on fri morning call kept disconnecting, finally got connected was on hold for 2hrs 40 min and it cutoff 🤯🥱😠 on the call again to them still on hold for 20min see how i get on will let you know.....

Omg i got through to them after 2 hours the guy i spoke to was quite informative, he said to me it takes 3.5 weeks from the date you did a MR. Even though it takes that long it could be that your dm can keep the claim for another week as they make there own enquiry and emails that the proffessional or school should get back to them. So hopefully see what happens

I did MR by phone on the 20th November for my daughter, I called today and was told that I was in the queue to be allocated to a DM and that it was taking between 3/4 weeks so she was hopeful that I would get a decision before Christmas.

Fingers crossed for you, unfortunately I’m not as hopeful as the lady was this morning. When I called 2 weeks ago new applications were supposedly taking up to 15 weeks to process, today when I called new applications were taking up to 20 weeks. I’ve been told that this is because case workers also answer the phones as well as processing application forms.

Thank you, i hope we all get the news we are waiting for, @ARH36 yours will hopefully will be looked at tues or wed and mine is 3 days after yours. When i spoke to the guy he said to me that people that are on waiting list to be seen don't get looked at, even if your school is looking to do ehcp does not get considered unless you have got one. And even with diagnosis but they do consider your childs needs.

@Specialchild2019 thats really bad advice that he gave you! There are a lot of people on the Waiting Lists thread that have been awarded claims pre diagnosis! I do hope they let us know either way soon though, I haven’t heard anything yet have you?

I don't know as they trying to say either your on waiting list you wont be cast as a diagnosis i said i waited 2 years only they can help my son to have the right aid.no1 else can give it to me.i will try ringing tom because i will be away for a week. Have you tried calling today?

@Specialchild2019 I have no idea how it all works to be honest with you. With our original decision declined I was shocked as I had seen people get more for less. Maybe it depends on whose desk it lands on who knows. I haven’t called as they gave me a 4-6 week time frame, I’m going to try hold out another week. Let me know how you get on tomorrow 🤞🤞

Parking myself here. After a 22.5 week wait for COC. I found out we yesterday we were declined, 1/12. I've put in MR via phone and been told it's a 4 week wait. Original scan date 30/6.

Hi my decision was made yestaday have been awarded mrc and hrm im so glad wait is over. Mr was done 10/11 decision was made 6/12. All the best to you all

I did, a decision hasn’t been made as of yet unfortunately. Hopefully it won’t be too long now

I’ve just called after I put my MR in by phone on the 20th November, the call handler told me that I had put my MR in on the 1st of December. I told her that wasn’t true and she looked back saw that I was right and said she had to send a message to the DM because I needed to be looked at sooner then they thought.
