Original Claim recieved by DLA on 6thJune23
Rejected 29thSeptember23
Sent off for mandatory reconsideration straight away and it was recieved by DLA on 23rdOctober23.

I rang this morning for an update as it has been with a decision maker since 6thNov so nearly 2 weeks and still no decision!
Has anyone around the same time frame as me heard back recently for mandatory reconsideration ? If so has anyone been successful and how long did you wait to hear about a decision ?
I have heard mandatory reconsiderations are more no’s than yes’s!
thanks x

Hi does anyone know if a MR on a renewal takes as long ? My son has been on hrc and lrm for 5 years now we just received his renewal as the same and previous but I feel as he's got older his needs would qualify for hrm too I sent off a MR letter to say this and all the explanation of why I feel this , but looking at these threads there is a much longer waiting time than I've heard before , so I'm wondering if this is the wait for all claims or new claims or just a big massive pile 🤣

Sarahdestiny · 14/11/2024 05:58

@Abwill hiya MR takes ages think I waited nearly 20 weeks I did a coc to add mobility to 1 of my sons claim n it took 20 weeks and got awarded HRM until he's 16 so 2038 but original award was only for 2 years so is defo worth doing a coc just for the length of award changing but as it stands u think coc or Mr or new claim or renewal all taking about 20 to 25 weeks cause there is so much backlog x

Abwill · 14/11/2024 07:59

@Sarahdestinyhankyou for replying , oh my goodness and they had the cheek to say to a lady in the similar position to me on here 3-5 weeks yesterday! Gosh they do like to stretch the truth on time scales , I'm apprehensive with how the award can change however I'm hoping it's pretty straightforward that it's evident his care is hrc I just want the mobility part looking at again. I just feel he meets requirements for the higher rate mobility and I will ask them to look again if it makes my son's life that but easier. I just hope it's all straight forward x
