DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

I will fight untill the very end! I don’t think they have contacted the doctors they couldn’t have! The doctor has plenty of information to share, her dad and brother have adhd and the doctor says she more than likely has it as it’s hereditary! But obviously it’s a long wait to see a pead! It’s just unfair! I wouldn’t be trying to claim dla if she didn’t need it! I have 2 other children I don’t claim for as they don’t have additional needs.

Lo89 · 30/07/2023 18:15

@Jt1985 I called and asked for them to go through reasons of refusal and wrote them down. I still haven't had my rejection letter but submitted my MR last week as I called for the reasons instead of waiting for post. Give them a call tomorrow x

Jt1985 · 30/07/2023 18:29

When I rang last Tuesday they wouldn’t give me reasons over the phone. Said I had to wait for letter. But I will. Be calling tomorrow, they expect you to do it within a certain timescale and they don’t even send you the letter😫 I have more evidence now but not holding my breath! I will take it all the way though! Good luck with yours 🤞

Anyone with scan date 5th April. I'm debating on calling them in the morning as I'm 17 weeks this weds.

Ch91 · 30/07/2023 22:05

@Vonald thank you for your reply! Sorry for mine being late I've only just seen it. They said mine went to decision maker on 25th and not heard anything since. I'm wondering how long it will take

Yes I'm 5th April, I haven't heard anything yet. I rang last week and was told its taking 17.5-18 weeks!

Klw88 · 31/07/2023 07:11

I’m 4/4 so 17 weeks tomorrow, I was told it was going to a DM at the end of last week. Losing my mind over this bloody process though! 😅🥲

Omg ladies I was awarded last Friday got back payment off £2489 coming this week. That's higher rate care ab lower rate mobility for 3 years.

Hi if you don't mind me asking what evidence did you send off?

Lianney84 · 31/07/2023 11:00

My son has no diagnosis yet he was kicked out off high school.in February so sent his expelled forms all evidence from school and he's starting special needs school In September and that's about tbh.

Lianney84 · 31/07/2023 11:01

He has no echp either.. but my youngest was awarded with no diagnoses or echp. But he also goes special needs school also but he's not got echp and iep.. but still no diagnoses and he gets same as one I've just been awarded for hrc and lrm for both my boys.

Everlong1234 · 31/07/2023 11:09

My youngest child was awarded last year, HRC & LRM for 2 years. He doesn't have an EHCP (but I am going to apply for one in the new school year), he's on the ASD & ADHD waiting list but no official diagnosis yet. He does have some physical difficulties, I had evidence from a Paediatrician, OT, Physio to send, as well as IEP from school. He has a blue badge, so I sent a copy of that. He's on a waiting list for a sleep clinic too, he's been on it for 2 years! Already dreading the renewal as I'm not sure I'll have anything new to send but his needs haven't changed, so I'll be making that clear.

Sounds similar to my son. He's starting SEN school September aswell, he does have an EHCP though. Risk assessment. I didn't have any evidence to send for night needs as waiting on CAHMS, referral accepted but no diagnosis yet. Did you have sleep clinic or anything?

Lianney84 · 31/07/2023 11:21

I had no evidence on for night needs either, I just went into detail off how bed he is. He doesn't sleep, I have to sleep downstairs because he's up and down all night up to no good cooking setting fire alarms off messing about with candles Trys going out on his bike early hours saying he needs to stretch his legs he wakes up the whole house especially when he's managed to set all fire alarms off. He messes with my washing liquid tablets he got a thing for eggs cracking them anywhere cooking them burning them into pan he's a danger to himself and us.. I get no sleep with him he finally goes to sleep around 4 am 5am in the mornings. Sometimes he can still be awake when I leave to take other children school it's unreal.. I have adhd myself which is what he's being tested for I can't sleep and struggle but when I Do want to sleep I can't.. I have to catch up in the day time it's like a 24hour production line in my house😂😂😂

Unintentionallycausingoffence · 31/07/2023 12:39

Does anyone know any places to take a seven year old with ASC but shows symptoms of ADHD and has no awareness of danger ?

Chloe1233 · 31/07/2023 13:28

Just had an update I've been awarded low rate as she only 2 and has no diagnosis yet so I'm I happy with anything really I'm surprised they even gave me that

AllGoodThingsWillCome · 31/07/2023 13:45

Congratulations! Did you get a text? I have the same scan date as you, I don't know whether to call tomorrow or just wait! The anxiety it gives me everytime I call is unreal.

Chloe1233 · 31/07/2023 13:56

I didn't get no text I called them and they said it had all been done today
