DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Hi, new to all this but been reading all these posts and previous threads. My scan date is 27/4. I've called this morning and over an hour later they answered saying its taking upto 17 weeks and that if I haven't heard anything by mid September ring back. Mid September! Must have a different calendar to me 🙈. My anxiety is through the roof.

cherrymum23 · 25/07/2023 12:06

I dont have much hope. Now at the age of 7 it is very obvious to me she is different from her peers and requires a lot of prompting and supervision all day long. I should have got the ball rolling a long time ago. I feel bad that I haven't done more for her 😩.. Anyone else been successful without diagnosis?

cherrymum23 · 25/07/2023 12:08

@Jt1985 I'm gutted for you. I hope you are appealing 🤞🤞 is she on any waiting lists?

Jt1985 · 25/07/2023 12:16

Yes, appointment for peads and the doctor has sent a letter of expedite as there is a 18 months waiting list but should be seen within 6 months

Danleigh89 · 25/07/2023 14:15

Anyone any updates?

Chloe1233 · 25/07/2023 14:51

Got told this morning it was with a decision maker and they were finalising everything just got of the phone now to see if they have a update and I've been told its not even with a decision maker and its in a pile waiting to be seen and its taking up to 18 weeks now

That's terrible! Sounds like they do make it up as they go

Everlong1234 · 25/07/2023 14:57

@Danleigh89 nothing here, 16 weeks tomorrow. Was going to call at 9 tomorrow but might wait until Thursday. I get terrible anxiety about calling, especially after I had a rude call handler last week.

Gwerclas · 25/07/2023 15:14

Hey all, just popping back to let you guys know I received text saying DLA awarded this morning (new application). My scan date was 30th March. Good luck to all and hope you're all OK xx

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 25/07/2023 15:15

Rang today, 13 weeks in now.

Been told their staff are doing overtime to try and clear the backlogs but now looking at 18/19 weeks wait! So almost 6 months. 🤯

I've seen people being awarded way after my sons claim was scanned in though, are they just randomly picking claims out of the pile?

Danleigh89 · 25/07/2023 15:20

Wow, really does seem like there just messing everyone about its unfair to everyone. If it's waiting to be seen then doesn't that mean it's with the decision maker? Don't understand how one can tell u it's it's a decision maker amd other days it'd not surely they all see the same thing on the screen. Really am not gonna build my hopes up to hear anything this week it's pointless.

Danleigh89 · 25/07/2023 15:21

Let us know what they say when u call. X I feel like calling and complaining honestly

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 25/07/2023 15:29

Thing is complaining won't achieve anything for new claims. They'll still say it'll be backdated so just have to wait.

It's the renewals I'm worried about my eldest is due a renewal in March and I've seen soooo many claims not being completed on the last day! Sad

ASDmum3 · 25/07/2023 15:38

Hey guys. Is anyone else still waiting from march.. I feel like I'm slowly going insane 🤣

Danleigh89 · 25/07/2023 15:46

It's just annoying because it's a waiting game and keep getting told different things everytime. I get there backlogged. I was totally fine up until about week 14 the wait just started to drag lol. I suppose will just have to wait and see

It's mad how they said that this morning the woman literally said the decision makers looking at it right now I'm going to ring in the morning again and see what they say hopefully the woman who I rang this afternoon got it wrong

Lianney84 · 25/07/2023 15:51

Hi I get high rate care and low mobility for my son who's undiagnosed. But goes special needs school and has echp. I'm only just waiting on his next appointment to find out results off his autism test in Feb!!!!

It's not about diagnosed it's about the level off care your children need.

And how often daily and during the night. Also helps if you have if you have evidence off the support your child gets.
My son has 1.1 he's 8 been getting dla since he was 5 years. Old.

Lianney84 · 25/07/2023 15:53

Omg I'm the 5th April just got off the phone what a load off cock and bollox looking at second week off August for decision.. that's it now not calling then again because they annoy me.

mooneigh · 25/07/2023 16:07

Anyone on her doing a MR ? I am, I have been told you have to get it in withing 4 weeks for them to look at it again. That's great when they don't send the decline letter for at least 2 weeks after the decision date.
Apparently, they're suppoaed to look at it and give you a decision in 4 weeks. So CAB told me. But lady on phone from DLA said they should look at it again in around a months time. I just wondered with them having such a back log.... is the MR taking longer too ? 🙈

I rang this morning for the 1st time they told me mid September I'm 27/4. Couple of hours later I got a text basically saying don't ring. Is that the usual for them?

Lianney84 · 25/07/2023 16:37

@EB82 I've never known them to text saying not to call I've never had that.

The lady I had today said well.it depends which cm has your application and they could be on annual leave looking after there own children.... surely they have someone to step.in To cover who's off.. its how works places usually do holidays always make sure they've got cover ?? Or is that just me hahah.

EB82 · 25/07/2023 16:44

It's absolute craziness, it has me a bag of nerves honest.

Danleigh89 · 25/07/2023 17:30

Mid August,? So in about 3 weeks? I've seen it on this thread people 3rd of April getting decisions so why another 3 week for your date. Just a waiting game all this. Hope you get good news once it eventually comes through x

Muva306 · 25/07/2023 17:58

@EB82 your scan date is the day before mine 😊

EB82 · 25/07/2023 18:01
