DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Does anyone know how long it takes for u c to backdate the disability element? I put a note in my journal over 2 weeks ago and still not heard about the backdate. It is showing disability element in my statement but not the backdate.

Me too we have same dates...I rang on Tuesday to be told it is still with the DM...its just a long waiting game

I’ve rang today again to check they received my extra info last week. 1 hr 16 min hold 🤪!

The advisor was absolutely lovely , told me again I wouldn’t be hearing back regarding our renewal till the first week of October and he hasn’t seen any renewal whatsoever be done any earlier than the week before they’re due.

He did say it’s 18 weeks for new claims, just for anyone considering calling again!

Still got fingers crossed for you guys 🤞 so the oldest got her message today to say she will receive PIP, rang them to see what rates and they gave given her standard for both. Slightly annoyed as I really believed given all of her restrictions that she would get enhanced for both. The advisor said she was very close just 1 point off each so I'm thinking of doing an MR for her. The worst that can happen is they say no 🤷‍♀️ still fighting just a different battle 🙈

Scan date for DD was 21/04. We have been away for 2 weeks now and I rang before we came away and was told it would be with the DM last week. DH hasn't received a text so I'm guessing they have written to say she hasn't got it 😔
Does anyone know if they would normally text if you don't get it or do they just write. Also will it explain the appeal process on the letter?

@Nowmum43 Doesn't appear to be any consistency, some don't know it was awarded until back pay goes in bank, some get a message, some a letter... you'd be best off ringing.

I rang on week 17 and was told by a very annoyed woman (as my husband wrote the forms) that she shouldn't be telling me but it would be with the DM last week.
It will be week 19 tomorrow.
We are in Florida at the minute so can't ring. And when we are back we are both back at work and can't be on hold for an hour plus 😞
I'll see if there is anything in the post when we get back on Saturday.

I just called up today as impatient my son has been awarded hrc and lrm untill 2027! I am so happy

His award has also gone from mcr to hrc can't believe it!

It was classed as a new claim it was supposed to be a renewal but I sent it 8 weeks late 🙃

I just got off phone...1 hour and 27 minute and DD got awarded yesterday

I didn’t have a text with my original decision, which was declined , however after MR didn’t receive a message either, but had back payment in my bank then letter after.

I was on hold for an 1 hour and 34 mins, finally got through to the call handler and the call went dead 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

They called me back, his claim was rejected yesterday. I did ask if they could give me the reasons why over the phone so I could start preparing for MR but the line went dead again 🫠🫠🫠

I’m more annoying the line went dead and I couldn’t ask why it had been rejected 😂😂 he’s got the doctors at 9.30 tomo so once I’m done there I’ll call back and get the reasons so I can start the MR

Oh @Muva306 that is so infuriating I can imagine how angry you are !! Get the reasons as soon as you can to start the MR. Did you have a lot of evidence to back yours? It’s so frustrating !

I don’t think I provided enough evidence so it probably is my own fault 😂😂 it is what it is but I’ll most deffs be putting up a fight. I’ve just downloaded the MR form (only 7 pages long so that’s a win it’s self 😂) once we are done tomo at doctors (unrelated to DLA - Willy dramas 🤦🏽‍♀️) I’ll call and have my paper and pen at the ready to make notes on the reasons why and get crack-a-lacking with filling this in.
