DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Thanks lovely @CoffeeLover90 I will have a look now, I’ve been buying Start-Rites and Geox after he anihilated his Clark’s ones in the first month 😩 always need recommendations for this sort of thing!! Xx

PLJ44 · 30/08/2023 09:32

@EB82 @Muva306
I rang this morning. MRC was awarded yesterday. Was exactly what I expected/hoped for. Huge relief! What a stressful 18 weeks that was!!
Good luck to everyone else still waiting but especially any other stragglers from April ❤️🍀🤞

EB82 · 30/08/2023 09:52

Oh massive congratulations @PLJ44 🥳 the wait is finally over, I'm so pleased for you 😊

CoffeeLover90 · 30/08/2023 10:37

@CharleneD Clarks are terrible. And expensive. My son doesn't walk on his toes but drags his feet, always crawling along with his cars too, so needs sturdy toes and soles. I got his brand new on vinted. Best £20 I've ever spent. Lasted 2 whole terms without so much as a scuff.

@PLJ44 congratulations!

I've had a text this morning to say they're still working it, no need to contact, didn't plan to... but nice to know I'm thought of 😂

I too got a text this morning stating the same.

If you don't mind me asking what was your scan date?

Muva306 · 30/08/2023 11:16

Oh that is fantastic news @PLJ44 i am over the moon for you!! Wait a massive weight of your shoulders!! Hopefully I was in the same pile as you as the last said they DM works through the pile in date order (I don’t believe that for 1 minute but let’s have hope 😂😂)

30/05 scan date. Had two letters now this second text

CHDmumma · 30/08/2023 11:24

@CoffeeLover90 you're the day before me! I've had 2 letters and 3 texts now. Will you be calling at week 15 or just waiting?

Muva306 · 30/08/2023 11:26

I buy my son (he’s only just turned 5) the black Nike court borough low, for school. They have fake laces and a Velcro strap so they are easy to put on. He spent 90% of the time at school either playing outside (very roughly) or crawling around the floor pretending to be a dog and they lasted extremely well. So well I washed them up and gave them to another parent of a class for her son for this coming year. My older son used to wear them too, with no problems whereas he used to wear kickers and they were battered after 2 terms. I get them from deichmann as they are part of the buy 1 get 1 1/2 price!! I’m back to getting my older son kickers as part of the deal as he’s going into his 2nd year of secondary school

CoffeeLover90 · 30/08/2023 12:03

@Muva306 I'll give those a go next, I do like to get him shoes and boots for starting school so that deal would likely save me a few quid 😁

CoffeeLover90 · 30/08/2023 12:04

@CHDmumma I'd rang a few weeks ago, to check they had the further evidence od posted, and they said then it was a 17.5 weeks wait. Judging from this thread I'm guessing is quite accurate. So I'm not chasing until week 18 😊

My scan date is 25/5 I have had 2 letter and 2 texts my last text was on 21/8 so 9days ago

CHDmumma · 30/08/2023 14:46

@CoffeeLover90 last time I rang (a few weeks ago) I was told 20 weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm sure each call handler says different. Wishing you good luck 🤞

CoffeeLover90 · 30/08/2023 15:33

@CHDmumma I'll still ring week 18 because as far as they know, I have only been told 17.5 weeks. Fingers crossed not that long though, anxiety is too much

Muva306 · 30/08/2023 17:04

Another day of no news 🫠🫠 18 week mark tomorrow. I’m just going to prepare myself for a MR

PLJ44 · 30/08/2023 18:08

@Muva306... You never know.... If I hadn't called this morning I'd be the same as you... No text message, no money in the bank yet.... Maybe you've been awarded too and just don't know it yet 🤞😘....

EB82 · 30/08/2023 18:57

Don't loose faith @Muva306 give them another ring tomorrow 🤞

Sorry I didn't mean what you were told was wrong, I just meant it was strange all the different time frames that are given. No offence intended.

I have seen a few on a fb page with mid-may so hopefully not too much longer.

Muva306 · 30/08/2023 20:12

Well I have a bit more faith as I thought today was Thursday 😂😂 @PLJ44 @EB82 I’ll give them a call Friday morning because by then it would of been with DM for over a week

CoffeeLover90 · 30/08/2023 20:55

@CHDmumma No offence taken, I understood what you meant 😁 I think the written word doesn't come across as intended sometimes. What I meant is, they only know an advisor told me that length, never mentioned looking online etc so I'd ring at 18 weeks and say it's past the time you told me.
I also saw the may awards on Facebook, so I've unfollowed the page for now 😂 otherwise I felt like I was just anticipating an update, when actually it will be a few weeks more most likely.
I'll say it again, all this could be made much easier by just changing the letter. Why say 15 weeks when they know its just not?

CHDmumma · 30/08/2023 21:19

@CoffeeLover90 I completely agree the written word can be taken so many ways. I hope for us both it isn't the 17-18 weeks like they have stated recently.

I think things will be easier with DLA if it was online and they could update the times that way also filling it out and making updates, adding information would be so much easier too.

Muva306 · 30/08/2023 22:53

I don’t have Facebook but I do get the feeling that some people may be on the wind up saying they have been awarded with really recent dates

CHDmumma · 31/08/2023 07:30

@Muva306 I did think that maybe this was the case as the latest one I saw was 19th May. Also saw one person say they put a new claim in and was awarded within 2 weeks in the UK and not under special circumstances 🤔 that one was the one I thought was the biggest wind up.

CoffeeLover90 · 31/08/2023 07:48

I've thought that about some of the posts too, although some posted screenshot of a payment and asked for the rates to be worked out. I'm not sure about those.
Either way, if it's true, I'm happy for them but it made me on edge 😂 still convinced he'll be declined and I'll have to fight. And after this wait and the anxiety that's going to be a hard task.

CHDmumma · 31/08/2023 08:16

I've snoozed the fb group for 30 days now as it was too much seeing later May dates.
I too am ready for his to be declined as he is only 11 months old (currently) but we were told by our hospital teams and nursing at home team to apply.
