DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Our scan date is the 8th of May.

so glad people are getting fantastic news.

My son is 13 and suffering from Anorexia Nervosa. Needs a lot of support both mentally and physically.

xx

My scan day was 4th may
Still not heard anything

Soph194 · 23/08/2023 15:49

So is mine, hopefully next week is our week 🥳

PLJ44 · 23/08/2023 15:58

@EB82 I won't ring this week... Still on holiday 🏖️🏖️🏖️ Couldn't bear the wait on the phone or potentially, the disappointment 😬. Flying home Friday. Will call Tues morning if not heard by then as its a Bank Holiday weekend and will ask for them to send a text when they decide (thanks for the tip!) Hopefully I'll just find money in my account sometime before then 🤞🤞🤞cos that will then be 18 weeks!!! Good luck 🍀 for the PIP tomorrow 👍

Eeee I've just got my message saying my child qualifies! I'm sooo happy 🥳 fingers crossed everyone else gets a result soon 😊

So so happy for you .... fingers crossed for more positive news this week

EB82 · 23/08/2023 17:58

Il keep my fingers crossed for you all 🥰 and keep watching its got to be anyday for most of you 🤞

Muva306 · 23/08/2023 20:54

Good luck with your older ones PIP assessment!! Fingers crossed it’s double celebration for you!! Do PIP take transferring across from DLA as extra evidence for the claim?

Muva306 · 23/08/2023 20:54

Forgot to tag you 🤪 @EB82

CoffeeLover90 · 23/08/2023 21:15

@EB82 So pleased for you! And best of luck to the oldest one for tomorrow ❤

EB82 · 23/08/2023 21:46

Thank you @CoffeeLover90 🥰 fingers crossed you get some good news very soon too. @Muva306 I'm not sure they are both brand new claims I've never done it before for either of them. The forms are very similar but the PIP one asks about medication, cooking and mobility as in could they follow a planned route themselves etc. I assume they would take some information from the DLA as PIP is offered closer to their 16th automatically. Or at least that's how I've read it when I've seen it on the Facebook page. You can also apply to be an appointee which I wish I had known about about earlier as I've just applied for it today 🙈

PLJ44 · 24/08/2023 08:31

@EB82 would you be so kind as to let us know when the money arrives in your account? I'll use that as my measure of when to call them up again... Am happy to accept I might not get a message so could wait a few more days before I panic 😉

EB82 · 24/08/2023 10:02

I've rang and he's been awarded LRM & MRC which was what I thought he might get backdated to 20th march when I rang for forms and it's been awarded until his 16th birthday 🥳 @PLJ44 I will let you know no problem 😊

lauryloo · 24/08/2023 10:31

Looks like my youngest has been awarded

814 pending in my account. Forms scanned 3rd july but I had the forms for 5 weeks so looks like MRC.

We are in NI

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 10:45

Oh that it brilliant @lauryloo NI is so quick!!

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 10:46

oh perfect news @EB82 what a relief for you!! Is his 16th birthday in a few years time?

EB82 · 24/08/2023 10:58

@Muva306 I'm sure on the phone he said 2028 but now I'm thinking he's 16 2027 🤔 I asked if it was until his 16th because of the date he gave me. Il have to double check when the letter comes through 🙈

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 11:32

Oh wicked!! Does that mean no renewals on the period of time? @EB82

EB82 · 24/08/2023 11:40

@Muva306 no renewals it will just continue until it he's ready for PIP

Megan2233 · 24/08/2023 11:48

I got my backpayment for LRM yesterday after being awarded Friday 🫶🏻

lauryloo · 24/08/2023 12:08

I called and he actually got high rate care

They haven't backdated from when I requested the forms, as I did it on my pc then printed it. But they said I can do an mr as they will have a record of the forms being requested in their system

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 12:17

Oh deffs do a MR is they have suggested doing so themselves @lauryloo

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 12:17

Did you do a MR for mobility to be included @Megan2233

Megan2233 · 24/08/2023 12:19

No @Muva306, it was a renewal but my son is now 5 so he qualifies for it. He didn’t before x

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 12:38

Ohhhhhh I see @Megan2233

mooneigh · 24/08/2023 14:39

Any updates from anyone recently on here who has had to go through a Mandatory Reconstruction ?

On the phone they told me it would be sent to a DM in 2 weeks time but I have just had a letter through saying it can take 11 weeks. With already waiting the 16 weeks to get turned down it is a bit demoralising. The system is so unfair.

Cshan · 24/08/2023 15:10

Has any one had any updates for may scan dates x
