DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Caved in and called 🫠 1 hour and 45 minutes but I was told it was with a DM

I haven’t posted on here for quite some time as my son got declined last September. This thread was a lifeline when I was waiting for a decision last year! I just wanted to come on here with a success story. Today I won my appeal for my son, he has been awarded middle rate care and lower rate mobility backdated to June 2022 till May 2025. It has been the worst wait but I am so happy he has finally be awarded what he truly deserves! So for anyone who gets declined please don’t give up hope and definitely go for an appeal! I wish you all the best best of luck and I hope your children get the awards they deserve.

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 16:55

Oh wow!! Pretty over a year from applying to being awards. Did you got to a tribunal in the end @MichelleG78

MichelleG78 · 24/08/2023 17:02

@Muva306 its been a long 14 months! I initially did an MR but the decision was not changed. So I launched an appeal last December and today I finally went to the tribunal and won my case! I am so overwhelmed and felt I needed to share this amazing news on here!

Soph194 · 24/08/2023 17:04

Well done!!xx

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 17:14

Thank you for sharing and well done for standing your ground and putting up the fight for your child @MichelleG78 what amazing news!! You really must be over the moon that it’s all over

PLJ44 · 24/08/2023 17:15

Well that's ANOTHER week gone for me 😦 AND it's a bank holiday weekend.
Scan date was 27/04. 17.5 weeks down. Will be 18 weeks by the time the offices open again on Tuesday. Oh my patience is well and truly being tested now 😢

MichelleG78 · 24/08/2023 17:17

@Soph194 thank you so much! xx

MichelleG78 · 24/08/2023 17:19

@Muva306 thanks so much, it’s an enormous relief that’s it’s finally over!

PLJ44 · 24/08/2023 17:21

@MichelleG78 I admire your tenacity! Well done and congratulations. 😁

Muva306 · 24/08/2023 17:35

Hopefully yours, like mine is with the DM @PLJ44 they really need to do something about bring the process online. I really don’t know how people call weekly for updates……being on hold for 1 hr 45 mins for 2 min human interaction is draining

Wifikids · 24/08/2023 20:11

Hi new here been following the thread a while also new to dla.my scan date was 3/5 wasted an hour and 10mins today to be told its not with a DM and wait a few more weeks.posted the form thought nothing about it really until about week 13 when i had a full report from my DD doctor posted that and that was that but now i know what people mean about the wait and the anxiety that comes with it ita awful 😭

Welshmun · 24/08/2023 21:35

@PLJ44 same here!! my anxiety is through the roof when I rung up Wednesday to see if the new evidence had been scanned on the gentleman said it had gone to decision maker Tuesday hopefully yours will be the same 🤞🤞 scan date 27/04

Welshmun · 25/08/2023 09:41

Quick question does anyone know what information I will need to inform tax credits of the award do I need my later or just the award date and amount

Muva306 · 25/08/2023 10:02

Oh that is brilliant news @Welshmun had you asked earlier in the week when you called if they would text but they didn’t?

Welshmun · 25/08/2023 10:13

@Muva306 yes I had spoken to man on Wednesday and was told it was with the decision maker and requested a txt message . curiosity got the better of me I rung again today and it had been awarded

Muva306 · 25/08/2023 10:28

I called yesterday afternoon as was told it was with a DM and requested a text but now I’m doubtful they will do so, if awarded 😂😂

PLJ44 · 25/08/2023 10:55

Great news @Welshmun
We're all getting there... One by one... 😀

Welshmun · 25/08/2023 11:56

nic00000 · 25/08/2023 13:27

does anyone know how long on uc from decision maker to payment/ammount for child disability element? waited 4 weeks and got decision a week ago and now it’s being calculated they’ve said

If I was you, I'd give it another week before chasing it. They'll probably say there's no timescale but, with having the decision now, just a case of amending previous statements to pay you the difference.

Congrats @Welshmun 🥳
