hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Girlmum2109 · 15/08/2023 13:48

Oh my goodness I could cry 😭🥰
My little girl has been awarded HRC at 11 months old for her skin condition and subsequent eye care.
I am SO glad that they recognise her struggles and care needs. This means we can buy more silk bed sheets, not have to think about money everytime we order her skin products which we go through like no tomorrow and cover the costs of all hosp appointments etc.
good luck to all waiting x

Muva306 · 15/08/2023 14:18

Oh fabulous news @Girlmum2109 i am so glad the wait is over 🥰🥰🥰

Muva306 · 15/08/2023 14:19

@Kim2318 oh wow that is quick!! Excellent news that your wait is over

Jt1985 · 15/08/2023 15:01

i have just rang and finally been awarded MRC and LWM for my daughter through a MR. It was worth the wait! My scan date was 30/3. It just proves if you keep fighting you will get what your child needs and deserves. How do I notify UC I have written in my journal explaining but can’t see how I change

Lo89 · 15/08/2023 15:11

@Jt1985 that is amazing well done to not giving up.
Can I ask what date you called or date they received your MR.
I'm waiting on MR too.

This has given me hope. Congrats 🥳

Muva306 · 15/08/2023 15:28

Oh that it wicked news @Jt1985 i am so glad you stood your ground and they have seen they were wrong!!

CoffeeLover90 · 15/08/2023 15:48

@Girlmum2109 Dunelm had some lovely sets, little extra but the quality is amazing. Mines still going 4.5 years later with at least a weekly wash.

@Jt1985 also waiting on mr what was your mr date?

Chloe1233 · 15/08/2023 17:08

Does anyone no how long they take to make a decision on backdating the disabled child element

Jt1985 · 15/08/2023 17:58

@Lo89 @nic00000 they scanned it on the system on the 3/8/23. I did it in writing and sent appointments through etc. so I thought that was pretty quick considering😃 after I waited over 16 weeks for them to say no! I actually recieved a call today from an 0800 number asking for someone else’s name( who I’ve never heard of) saying they were from DWP when I said no don’t know any one with that name, they hung up! So called back explaining what had happened they said the award was made today! Fingers crossed for you all!

EB82 · 15/08/2023 18:06

Wow congrats on awards today everyone, crossing fingers the rest of us get some good news soon 🤞

Lo89 · 15/08/2023 18:08

@Jt1985 wow that is super fast congrats to you and it was worth the fight!!

Luckily you had that wrong call to prompt you calling them 🤣🥳

Jt1985 · 15/08/2023 18:28

And also there’s not an option to report a missed colp disability online does anyone know how to do this?

CoffeeLover90 · 15/08/2023 18:32

@Jt1985 Says if you're entitled to a payment 1/4/23 don't know how that works with assessment periods.

Yes I’ve looked at because I made the claim on the 12/3/23 she is within that timescale but can’t seem to report one online anymore 😫

@Chloe1233 I notified them I was awarded on the 20.07 and I'm getting my payment tomorrow. Nearly 4 weeks hope this helps.

JimnJoyce · 15/08/2023 20:51

@Chloe1233 I put a note on my journal yesterday and requested back pay they said it had gone to a DM but couldn't tell me how long it would take

mooneigh · 15/08/2023 21:13

@Jt1985 @Lo89 I also did a MR. I sent it special delivery so they would get it in time as I had to wait ages for a letter from physio and Dr. Anyway it arrived yesterday I have proof from Raoyal Mail but haven't heard anything from DLA.

Did you get notified to say they had received your MR or did you phone to confirm they had it ?

Thanks

Lo89 · 15/08/2023 21:20

@mooneigh I sent mine special delivery so I received notification from Royal Mail it was delivered.
I called them a week later they actually scanned it on the day it was received from Royal Mail. Shortly after the phone-call I received a text notifying me they had my MR

mooneigh · 15/08/2023 21:38

@Lo89 Ahh, ok, thank you. I was just panicking as my MR deadline is 4 weeks tomorrow, but Royal Mail confirmed it was delivered yesterday morning. So I should be ok as I got it in just before the deadline. But being it was close, I was worried and wondered if I should phone and confirm they had it or not, or just leave it as I have proof from Royal Mail.

Jt1985 · 15/08/2023 21:43

@mooneigh I had the text and a letter stating it can take up to 11 weeks😫 but just rang up today after the call I recieved and it had been awarded today! Less then 2 weeks for decision which I am in shock! As it was over 16 weeks for initial decision. I started the whole process on 12/3 and scanned on 30/3. I would call tomorrow and just make sure they have recieved in there time scale! And then fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

Jt1985 · 15/08/2023 21:46

@mooneigh i actually sent my MR in on the 30/7 and Royal Mail delievered on the 2/8 signed for however wasn’t scanned on system straight away! Call tomorrow and let them know you can see they have recieved it so they can put a note on system so it’s in timescale.

mooneigh · 15/08/2023 21:48

@Jt1985 Ahh, OK, thank you, and congratulations, that's amazing. They said about 4 -5 weeks when I spoke to them about MR to start with. So hoping it doesn't take too long and all is ok.

My original wait was 16 weeks to the day and scan date was 29/3.

Thank you and congrats 👏 💖
