DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

@CoffeeLover90 i'm 20 April

There doesn't seem to be any real order to things.
I'm waiting until week 18 to ring for an update if I haven't heard anything.

Muva306 · 13/08/2023 16:25

@JimnJoyce @CoffeeLover90 do the facebook posts state if they are based in NI or have been applied for under special circumstances?

I caved and called DLA only to hear a recorded message saying 'we tried to call you earlier' but confused as I've had no missed calls.

@nic00000 hey any update on your MR?

Muva306 · 14/08/2023 11:56

Oh well done @Smigger123 that is brilliant news!!

how strange @JimnJoyce was that a general thing or specifically for you as the caller?

nic00000 · 14/08/2023 11:57

@Lo89 it’s still with someone friday evening he said 4-6 weeks is the time scale on mr even tho the manager said 3. 4 weeks this thursday it’ll be.
my documents were lost in transit luckily i have the tracking number hes put with my mr and i’ve had to re send documents again😣😣

Lo89 · 14/08/2023 12:11

@nic00000 omg what a nightmare you've had to send that all in again.

Yea I was told 3.5-4 weeks hopefully it doesn't drag on much longer been an awful wait.

JimnJoyce · 14/08/2023 12:14

well I've just been told that DD was awarded on 12 August. MRC and LRM. So happy.

nic00000 · 14/08/2023 12:31

@Lo89 is abit weird they may make the decision without the documents the man said but when they arrive it’ll be looked at again? don’t understand it all. i did mr over the phone explaining what i disagreed with

Kerryl83 · 14/08/2023 12:49

Managed to speak to someone and raised the issues that were happening regarding nearly 20 week wait, numerous phonecalls etc spoke to a lovely gentleman on phone who said it was with DM(Has been for about four/five weeks)but he was going to email them to look at what was happening and marked it as urgent.Thirty mins after call i received text to say its been awarded. A massive weight lifted of my shoulder’s definitely worth chasing and saying you want to go down the complaint procedure if waiting over stated time frames.

JimnJoyce · 14/08/2023 13:00

@Muva306 yes it wouldn't give me any options to go further in the call

CoffeeLover90 · 14/08/2023 13:06

@Kerryl83 when you do get through, ask to make a complaint. Seen some have done so and it seems to push them to send to DM

Girlmum2109 · 14/08/2023 13:32

Congratulations to all those awarded 😊.
Feeling more and more disheartened as our wait continues, 17.5 weeks today (scan date 13th April)

Macca1981 · 14/08/2023 13:32

What number is everyone using to check status of claim please? We are almost 17 weeks in and have heard nothing. Haven’t chased it up at all yet, but might do so soon.

JimnJoyce · 14/08/2023 13:33

0800 121 4600 was a 50 min wait before I got through earlier

OP posts:
Macca1981 · 14/08/2023 13:38

Thanks! In fairness, you were the only person I saw in here with a date of the 20/04 so it’s now given me itchy feet to find out where our claims at? 😂

Muva306 · 14/08/2023 13:40

Oh yay!! That is fantastic news @JimnJoyce I am so glad your wait is finally over!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Macca1981 · 14/08/2023 13:47

If you are awarded, how soon would you usually wait for payments to start? Will the backpay usually take a bit of time to arrive? We don’t claim Universal Credit etc, so only payment we would receive will be DLA?

EB82 · 14/08/2023 13:53

Fab news to see awards today! Congrats to those who got them
