DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

@EB82 oh really?! The lady on the phone on Monday told me they are taking 17.5 weeks! I’m 17 weeks today and she said I should hear by Monday/Tuesday next week. But maybe they consider 17.5 to be 17.

EB82 · 10/08/2023 10:41

@Girlmum2109 that's what she said but she wouldn't tell me anything else. I asked if it was waiting to go to the DM or if it was there already and she just answered with so you should hear before the end of August.

Muva306 · 10/08/2023 10:48

@EB82 @Girlmum2109 do you think they are stopping telling people about the DM status to stop repeat calls for updates? Makes sense if they are already under staffed. I’m 15 weeks tomo but I’m not going to call until 17 weeks

Muva306 · 10/08/2023 10:49

Also have a lovely holiday @PLJ44 ☺️

EB82 · 10/08/2023 11:00

@Muva306 I don't know tbf she took quite some time to find my sons application so maybe she was new to the job. I wasn't going to make a song and dance I just said ok thank you

PLJ44 · 10/08/2023 12:17

Thanks @Muva306 and @EB82.
I shall keep a sneaky eye on on this thread to see if you get awarded yours before I get back seeing as our dates are similar ❤️

EB82 · 10/08/2023 12:24

Likewise @PLJ44 I will tag you when I get a decision 😊

nic00000 · 10/08/2023 13:56

@Lo89 rang this morning and mines with dm for mr she said a few days max now x

Lo89 · 10/08/2023 14:06

@nic00000 oooo this is exciting when did they receive your MR?

They got mine on the 27th July but I don't think it was actioned until 3/8 when I called to check they had it.

I haven't called because I was expecting to hear end of august. Fingers crossed for you x

nic00000 · 10/08/2023 14:28

20th they got it they did it over the phone and i sent extra evidence xx @Lo89

Lo89 · 10/08/2023 14:29

@nic00000 I really hope you get some good news.

Ok I reckon I've probably got another 1-2 weeks then 😰

Mandymoo2425 · 10/08/2023 16:27

Hi all I’m new to this, my scan date, 19th April and called yesterday, it’s with the Dm, not sure how much longer I have to wait xxx

CoffeeLover90 · 10/08/2023 16:53

@Mandymoo2425 I'm new too. 30/05 mine received. From reading this thread and fb, seems to be anywhere from a couple of days to couple of weeks. Least you're nearing the end, so fingers crossed and good luck!
It does get more anxious the longer it gets and I've got about 8 weeks to go 😅

Muva306 · 10/08/2023 17:18

Oh that is really positive news that it’s with the dm @Mandymoo2425 the closer it gets to the end, the nerves really do start to kick in 🫨

Fundeasy22 · 10/08/2023 18:15

Quick question when you request universal credit to backdate child disability element do they always send it to decision makers to approve backdating? Thanks

nic00000 · 10/08/2023 18:49

@Fundeasy22 i think so i’ve been waiting 3 weeks today and still had no decision/back pay

CoffeeLover90 · 10/08/2023 19:09

@Fundeasy22 standard for back pay. Really should be a simple case of verifying, seeing as DLA is coming from DWP.
I added a link on how to complain, since some waiting ages, but pp had said they completed a complaint form. I'd done that for ex MIL around 18 months ago, she had her back pay within a week.

Har13 · 10/08/2023 19:35

If anyone knows, how do you report the missing cost of living payment please? Do you have to phone DLA again and put a request though? There doesn't seem to be a way to do it online 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thanks all ☺️

Fundeasy22 · 10/08/2023 20:14

@CoffeeLover90 @nic00000 thank you, standard practice then

Muva306 · 11/08/2023 14:28

is there further movement into April over on FB?

JimnJoyce · 11/08/2023 14:40

@Muva306 yes people with scan dates of 14th, 19th and 17th April say they have received payments into their bank today

OP posts:
JimnJoyce · 11/08/2023 14:42

also one with scan date of 18 th april but also
one person who rang today and was told that anyone with an April date won't hear until September.

OP posts:
MonaOrchideous · 11/08/2023 14:49

@JimnJoyce yes when I was told it was 17.5 weeks they said if I hadn't heard by mid September to call them back but I'm being on the optimistic side (26/04 here)

Muva306 · 11/08/2023 17:02

Oh gosh @JimnJoyce so if they have had payments already they must of been awarded early this week then. I’m starting to get the feeling that anyone who calls is told much lengthy wait times opposed to what sometimes is happening
