DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

What Facebook group is this please? 😲@Samiieyy

Weenie1993 · 09/08/2023 21:05

I'm on a Facebook group and saw that some people from may and June were putting in formal complaints and getting desicions faster. Bit wrong really in my opinion I think doing it in time order is absolutely the fairest way possible

PLJ44 · 09/08/2023 21:22

I've tried finding Facebook groups about this but not had any luck.... 😕

JimnJoyce · 09/08/2023 21:30

@Muva306 no I called last Thursday and a manager called me back and said it would be looked at in 2 weeks time

Muva306 · 09/08/2023 21:33

No way! 1st June that is absolutely crazy!! I haven’t called bar the time I called to check they had received my evidence @JimnJoyce dont particularly feel like calling until at least week 17

Muva306 · 09/08/2023 21:34

@JimnJoyce only because I can’t deal with hearing how far they are pushing timescales back 😂

Muva306 · 09/08/2023 21:37

@Weenie1993 on the last thread some posters had either exceeded the 15 weeks or were coming close to, and raised complaints and had call backs the same day and some even approvals within hours

Thank you @Samiieyy

My child's claim wasn't scanned until the 12th June and I'm already losing patience. The wait is horrible. GL to all those waiting.

Girlmum2109 · 10/08/2023 07:04

17 weeks today and still no news other than that it is with a decision maker.
I wasn’t really nervous until now! So worried our little one won’t get it as she is under a year old but she genuinely requires so much more care than other babies her age with hourly eye drops day and night and regular moisturising. Will call again tomorrow I think…

PLJ44 · 10/08/2023 07:09

I was 15 weeks yesterday (my letter says "this COULD take UP TO 15 weeks" ) so I'm going to call them today...
Will let you know if I get through and have any news. Scan date 27/04.

EB82 · 10/08/2023 07:40

Hope it's with a DM @PLJ44 I will ring as well if I get a chance. Let's see if we get the same answer as I'm the same date. Are you going to put in a complaint or just get an update?

PLJ44 · 10/08/2023 07:51

@EB82 Not really sure... First time I've called... Will play it by ear depending in how helpful they are... I will get more firm if they are unhelpful.

EB82 · 10/08/2023 07:55

I've only rang once and the lady I spoke to wasn't all that helpful. There's another award on Facebook this morning for 23rd May!

EB82 · 10/08/2023 08:12

Ignore that last award, there has been comments added and they are in Northern Ireland and the wait over there is 6 -8 weeks 🤯

Muva306 · 10/08/2023 08:24

Oh let us know how your call goes @PLJ44 are you going to ring dead on 9?

PLJ44 · 10/08/2023 09:19

Yes, rang dead on 9am. Was speed dialling from. 8.58 like I do when I need a GP appointment. Lady was very apologetic and kind. Simply explained that things are taking longer than when I first got my letter. Average wait is now 17.5 weeks to get to case manager but usually very quick from then.
I am fortunate enough to be in a position to be able to wait without any detriment (except my impatience) so did not feel the need to escalate or raise a complaint taking up more time on the line when others would be trying to get through.
All done in 17 mins so must have been on hold about 13 mins I guess.
Going to forget about it now til I get back from my holiday. Good luck everyone. ☺️

EB82 · 10/08/2023 10:16

@PLJ44 I rang too. The lady told me 17 weeks and that they have been given a deadline that it is not to go over 17 weeks 🤷‍♀️ she said your nearly there now, not long to go. I haven't escalated either as I'm in a similar position to yourself.
