DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Do they back date MRs from scan date or mr received date?

Thanks guys. Hope you all hear very very soon. I'm not entitled to carers element on uc because I'm on limited capability for work myself so must be why.. the back pay is same as my sons dla so I'm happy with that

I receive PIP and did a MR, they honoured my claim date so it was paid and backdated to the date I claimed from. I assume they would do the same for DLA.

I just called to see if they had received educational psychologist report and we've got an award, scan date 18/04 and was awarded higher rate care no mobility as he's only 4

Ohhhhh I see and you can only claim once cant you @Lianney84 were you able to apply for the disabled child element? I don’t know much about it, just saw someone mention it the other week on this thread

@Muva306 yes I get £918 for two children disability element I've had a back pay off £2300 backdated it from end off Feb. My monthly payments have gone up by £456 a month going forward and this with out carers element so I'm more than happy with this outcome for my son

Oh so even though you aren’t eligible for the carers element, it hasn’t affected your payments going up. @Lianney84

hope not! It’s been long enough now people after me have been awarded don’t get me wrong I’m made up for them but I’m sat here like hiiii!
