DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

@Vb32 i am 28th but @MonaOrchideous is 26th too

MonaOrchideous · 07/08/2023 17:28

@CoffeeLover90 I've had this text too so I believe they're just sending them out as matter of course and that they're not meant to be read into. I had it and dd2s isn't even with a dm yet.
@Vb32 I'm the same day as you @Muva306 is right Smile I don't know what kind of system they use to sort them, I didn't send a huge amount of information. I sent about 5 letters from consultants after observations detailing the behaviours they saw, three school individual learning plans, her actual ASD diagnosis letter and her school senco wrote supporting information for it.
I am wondering now whether I should send a day diary, I was told that the evidence would speak for itself by the senco but now it's the summer holidays I really could write every single thing and probably get it to them before a decision is made; does it sound worthwhile?

CoffeeLover90 · 07/08/2023 18:09

@MonaOrchideous Thanks, I thought it mustn't mean anything. I'm only on week 10! Plan to ring week 18, not before. Be pointless calling earlier when told 17.5 week wait.

Muva306 · 07/08/2023 19:03

I haven’t seen many posters with scan dates for mid April. Will be fab news when we hear about those getting answers

JimnJoyce · 07/08/2023 19:31

mine is 20 April. I rang last thursday and complained. A manager called me back and said 2 more weeks

Soph194 · 07/08/2023 20:12

I’m the 4/5 week 14, I called them today before they closed and a lady said they have changed it to 17weeks so another 2 weeks and probs won’t hear a decision till very end august or begging of September. There still doing begging of April she said? Think they tell us all different things. X

I spoke with them two weeks ago friday they said 17.5 weeks wait now and to call back September 18th if I haven't heard anything my scan date was 4th may

EB82 · 07/08/2023 21:33

Mines 27th April, they told me a couple of weeks ago that it should be with the DM mid August. Is anyone between 13th and 20th? 13th was the last scan dates decision given on here. Be nice to be able to keep track of where they are upto

Macca1981 · 07/08/2023 21:58

It is pretty ridiculous that the whole process can’t just be managed/tracked online? It would save these huge waits for a phone to be answered and even providing more evidence as and when it becomes available. It could just be scanned and attached straight to your claim at source. I appreciate that it’s a busy department, but they don’t seem to work particularly smartly?

We have a scan date of 20th April, nothing yet. Although in fairness I haven’t called or chased it up. By looking at these posts, it seems the award system is a bit of a lottery anyway? Some people with masses of evidence are being knocked back, while some with no evidence are being awarded? Strange system.

Muva306 · 07/08/2023 22:26

Yes an online system would be much more beneficial!! Streamline the process and make it more digital!!

EB82 · 08/08/2023 07:23

Yes it does seem to be a bit of a lottery, a few have said it depends on which DM you get which doesn't fill you with a lot of hope. @Macca1981 fingers crossed you have good news soon

Girlmum2109 · 08/08/2023 09:26

I called first thing this morning. Our received date is 13th April. The lovely lady said it’s now with a decision maker but claims are taking 17.5 weeks currently. Really hoping to hear soon.

JimnJoyce · 08/08/2023 09:31

@EB82 my scan date is 20 April

Muva306 · 08/08/2023 09:54

EB82 · 08/08/2023 10:21

@Muva306 I'm back! We definitely on week 15 this time 😂 it really is dragging. I'm hoping we are in the pile with those getting an answer at 16 weeks 🙏

Muva306 · 08/08/2023 11:31

Wahooooo!! Yes deffs 15 weeks this week 😂😂😂 @EB82 fingers crossed for answers by 16 weeks 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Kirstyg111 · 08/08/2023 11:45

Har13 · 08/08/2023 12:26

My daughter has just been awarded MRC and LRM scan date April 12th, I've been watching this thread for weeks!! I didn't get a text or anything, just got backpay this morning so called to ask for info. Good luck to everyone still waiting, hope you all hear some good news soon :)

Muva306 · 08/08/2023 12:40

Oh wicked new @Har13 and @Kirstyg111 brilliant news that your wait is over!! And again, good to know they are currently dealing with 12/13 April. Makes my scan date feel a little bit more insight ☺️

Weenie1993 · 08/08/2023 12:40

18/4 here 16 weeks today and received a text at 20 past 12 saying he got it ! Even the lady on the phone was shocked
So relieved its a massive wait lifted
Hope evreyone gets good news this week ❤

Jadepac22 · 08/08/2023 12:52

@Ch91 hey, have you had any update from uc yet? There still saying just to wait

Ch91 · 08/08/2023 13:01

@Jadepac22 no I've heard nothing and when I've tried to ring them today it wouldn't go through. I've written in my journal asking to raise a complaint. Giving no time scale is unrealistic and unreasonable after waiting 4 months to be awarded DLA I'm stressed to death over it x

Girlmum2109 · 08/08/2023 13:03

@Kirstyg111 congrats! Thank you! There seems to be a few saying they have heard from the 12th April today so hopefully in the next few days for us!
