DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Thank.you @CoffeeLover90

Best of luck! I should also add I was raised it following advice from citizens advice. It wasn't long winded, I just pointed out that there had already been a delay, all relevant evidence had been given and no expectations had been set. Response from management after 2 days, decision made 2 days later and back pay went in the following day.
After a lengthy wait for a DLA decision, this is beyond a joke!

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 19:23

Its ridiculous. I thought after a claim is awarded and UC is notified, they would automatically back pay what is owed because they have already verified it and I've had this months disability element. It's stupid.

Muva306 · 06/08/2023 21:09

Is there a decision maker for UC disabled child element too?!? Crazy they would need a dm when dla had has already been awarded

Jadepac22 · 06/08/2023 21:47

@Ch91 having same issue as you! Was awarded my care element(verified) but they’ve said I’ve got to wait for disabled child element to be verified. Been waiting 2 nearly. And all they say is “we can’t give you a time frame it will be verified and given to a dm to be back dated when someone looks at it”

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 21:59

@Jadepac22 how long have you been waiting. I claim carers already for my son, this new claim is for my daughter so I can't claim carers for her x

Jadepac22 · 06/08/2023 22:03

@Ch91 nearly 2 weeks, but I reported both care part of uc and child part the same day and one came back verified in 2 days and then still waiting on the other. What rate have u been awarded on dla? as I’m wondering if it because of the high rate as to why it could be taking longer?

Lianney84 · 06/08/2023 22:06

@Ch91 I've not bothered calling them wouldn't even no who to call. Just going to let them get back to me unless it takes forever like the dla 🤪🤪

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 22:08

@Jadepac22 I'm HRC & LRM. Mine has been verified it took about a week but apparently it goes to a different department for the back pay I don't understand why.

Jadepac22 · 06/08/2023 22:19

@Ch91 yeah ive got the same, see my care element didn’t have to go to another department, they just said they needed to check the correct amount of back pay, and reason for it not being reported sooner, it’s silly it should all get verified a lot simpler then this, especially having to wait 17 weeks for dla decision

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 22:20

@Jadepac22 the disability element asked me why I didn't report the changes sooner too.

Muva306 · 07/08/2023 08:10

Entering week 15 this week 🙃

Fundeasy22 · 07/08/2023 10:09

We are 16 weeks tomorrow scan date 18th April

Jadepac22 · 07/08/2023 10:27

@Ch91 so how long did it take once u reported it for them verify, I know ur still waiting for the back date, was wondering if mine would be added before my next payment x

Ch91 · 07/08/2023 10:29

@Jadepac22 it was verified about a week after I wrote it in my journal x

Muva306 · 07/08/2023 10:35

Your 10 days before me @Fundeasy22

Fundeasy22 · 07/08/2023 10:47

@Muva306 the wait seems to start getting more stressful the closer we get, I should call really to make sure they have the additional evidence I sent in but I don't fancy the wait times especially on a Monday

Smigger123 · 07/08/2023 11:48

Scan date 19th April so 16 weeks on Wednesday. Has anyone had a payment today so we know what date they are working on??

Muva306 · 07/08/2023 11:48

Is anyone on the Facebook group? Have any dates further into April started to be rewarded? There was 13th being awarded on this thread, mid last week

Smigger123 · 07/08/2023 12:04

Yeah I think the end of last week they were awarding people with scan dates 11/12/13th April

MonaOrchideous · 07/08/2023 12:09

I've called up this morning with dd2s claim still waiting (they received it 26/4).
I had to ring them anyway as she's been prescribed new medication so needed to update them, I was advised they are currently working to a 17.5 week timescale and that dd2s isn't with a dm yet.

PLJ44 · 07/08/2023 12:39

@Fundeasy22 Haha YES. Waited 15 weeks without thought, now checking here daily and keep checking my bank balance for pending payments. My scan date was 27/04 so I reckon I've a couple more weeks to wait yet. Of on holiday at the end of the week so will only start calling them if there's nothing by the time I get back!

Weenie1993 · 07/08/2023 14:52

I'm 18/4 and I called today as I'm 16 weeks tommorow and its 17.5 weeks so that takes me too a week on Friday so I'm going too leave it 2 weeks and check again

CoffeeLover90 · 07/08/2023 15:33

I got this text. Does it mean anything or is it just an automated thing to stop you calling? I was told about 2 weeks ago that it's 17.5 week wait.

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has a scan date of the 26th April? Originally I was told a decision would be 15 weeks but I've rang today and there now saying 17 weeks?
