DLA wait times 2023 Part 10

JimnJoyce · 21/07/2023 10:43

hi thought i'd start a new thread as the last one is completely full and won't let me post.

Well I've just spoken to a very understanding man on the phone who confirmed that my daughters application is with the decision making team and I should hear within the next 3 weeks which would take us up to 16 weeks.
I told him I would like to make a formal complaint about the inordinately long wait times and he assured me he would make that known and pass it along as soon as we were off the phone.

Ohhhh I thought carers allowance was done via UC. So it must be the carers element that people are contacting UC for rather than going down the carers allowance option. Learn something new everyday 😊😊

Hi everyone, so i caved and called
to chase ( 16 weeks yesterday) they awarded my DD yesterday so exactly 16 weeks, i couldnt believe it and neither could the call handler. For reference my scan date was 12/4. Good luck everyone x😘

Muva306 · 03/08/2023 15:37

Well done @Niki8 fantastic news!! Again really positive to see them working into mid April!!

Pandamad · 03/08/2023 16:16

16 weeks today and received a text this afternoon saying my daughter has been awarded. Scan date 13th April.

Cshan · 03/08/2023 16:25

Has anyone got scan day 4th may

Girlmum2109 · 03/08/2023 16:45

Hi all. First time poster here. We applied for DLA for our little one (almost 11 months old now) back in April, forms scanned 13th April. We received a letter stating a 15 week wait but are now on week 16. I phoned last week and was advised that someone should be looking at it by Thursday 10th August.
It is so frustrating waiting isnt it?!
Our little one has a dry skin condition, which requires constant moisturising, hourly eye drops day and night, and regular hospital visits locally and at GOSH. We sent as much evidence off as possible - diagnosis, dermatologist care plan from GOSH, ophthalmologist eye care plan etc.
We do not qualify for any other type of payment/benefit due to our household income. Not all the moisturisers we use are available on prescription, some are £25 a tub, and we have also bought a silk bedsheet which was v expensive but helps alot but we need more than one, so if she is approved for DLA it will be a great help. Fingers crossed for us all waiting x

Muva306 · 03/08/2023 17:11

Wahoooo massive congratulations @Pandamad

Pandamad · 03/08/2023 17:54

Pandamad · 04/08/2023 11:47

Hi again everyone does anyone know the number to ring to find out rates? Xx

Jt1985 · 05/08/2023 16:44

is anybody going through a MR?? What is the timescale

Lo89 · 06/08/2023 10:59

@Jt1985 Hi I am waiting on and MR was advised they're taking 3.5-4 weeks but i received a text saying decision within 4 weeks

Jt1985 · 06/08/2023 11:02

Yes I’ve recieved the same txt. Not sure we can really rely on that timescale though! Do they have to go from the date they originally declined? Or when I sent the MR back?

Jt1985 · 06/08/2023 11:08

As it’s seems to be a long process I started the claim on 9/3/23 and was scanned on 30/3😫 if they don’t overturn the MR I will be going to tribunal!

Lo89 · 06/08/2023 12:24

@Jt1985 I'm guessing it's from the date they received your MR.

Yea my original scan date was 29/3 such a long wait just fingers crossed it will be overturned at MR 😩

Jt1985 · 06/08/2023 13:05

I do hope so I have enclosed more evidence just hoping that some one can actually see this! we will see! I will let you know my outcome

Soph194 · 06/08/2023 14:03

I do

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 14:47

Is there anyone on here who has been awarded who's claim for the disability element on uc is still with the DM??

nic00000 · 06/08/2023 14:52

@Ch91 i currently have uc child disability element with a dm since 27th july no update still
also going through MR

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 14:55

@nic00000 MR for DLA or for disability element for uc? Mine has been with DM since 25th. I always thought it was an automatic backdate when they were notified.

nic00000 · 06/08/2023 16:14

mr for dla , waiting for a backdate on uc for the child disability heard nothing

Lianney84 · 06/08/2023 16:55

@Ch91 I updated my journal last Monday and I've not heard anything

Ch91 · 06/08/2023 17:47

I wonder how long it takes and there's nobody to contact neither. When I've rang they just say its a different department and they have no time scale 🙄

CoffeeLover90 · 06/08/2023 18:02

I raised a complaint with universal credit about 18 months ago for ex MIL, she'd been waiting 2 months for a back dated payment. Wasn't given a timescale. She had the money within a week of me raising the complaint.
Seems different now because I remember I filled in a complaint form online, still worth a try for anyone still waiting on UC
