Carrying on the waiting right here!

Scan date 12 April, with a DM, no sign of a decision yet.

@Nicole220825 I had this letter about 2 weeks ago, my scan date is the 26th April, haven’t heard anything since x

Nicole220825 · 30/06/2022 20:43

its just a waiting game isn’t it 😩 it’s just the answer yes or no. I’ve seen lots of success on here though I been following the thread for weeks, it’s all such a nervous process x

Kc1999x · 30/06/2022 20:48

it really is, I haven’t caved in and called yet so I’m hoping I can just wait out😂

Spacemonkey2016 · 30/06/2022 20:59

@Nicole220825 I did my son's claim at the beginning of the year (wish I'd done my daughter's then too now but at the time couldn't face two at once) and he was awarded about 2 weeks after I received that letter. I think my decision was made fairly quickly though once it did land on someone's desk....on Friday 21st April it wasn't even with a decision maker, but the following Friday I already had the back pay in my bank account.

Nicole220825 · 30/06/2022 21:16

I just have so many plans for things for him that he needs to occupy him, bedrooms needs etc. the waiting is killing but I called once to check if they received as I forgot about it, 5-6 weeks passed and I remembered crap! Have they even got it 🙈 I am at the point of gone past caring, I’m used to his ways now and I think if it’s rejected then I give up 😩

Spacemonkey2016 · 30/06/2022 21:21

I know the feeling. I called twice around 8/9 weeks and both times told not with DM yet. So randomly checking bank account and seeing the money there was worth it. You're on the final stretch now, good luck!

GrapePearPea · 01/07/2022 00:04

I’m not on fb so can’t join the group… is there many hearing shorter then the average 9 weeks atm? Anyone spotted anyone who has heard back reallly quick?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2022 06:17

There's a few, @GrapePearPea, as I said above. Not huge numbers though.

Is the text sent any time of day? X

Bizzlemizzle · 01/07/2022 09:48

Weve had our award increased! But only for 18 months which is a bit weird but he said it is because the award has increased and the care needs have jumped massively so they would want to check end of next year to make sure it's the right rate after we get the ehcp sorted and medication. Tbh, saves us having to do a coc really.

Also been backdated to when I sent the forms off!!

I've requested the claim forms to be sent back as I forgot to copy them which they are doing and I 100% will not be sending my forms off so early next time round 😂

Eelcamomma · 01/07/2022 10:08

So I caved and rang today 🙈 scan date 22nd April, she told me they were working up to the 13th April today and my claim should be looked at in 2 weeks. Longest 11 weeks of my life so far lol

Poppysmum14 · 01/07/2022 10:10

@Eelcamomma I feel like they have been working on the 13th for weeks now! Lol

Uz91 · 01/07/2022 10:29

Received this morning. Scan date May 7th, did anybody else receive this letter? If so how long before decision was made. X

i was on the previous thread for my youngest first claim, which was awarded. Back now for my eldest’s renewal. His award expires in early August, renewal paperwork sent off early May. Due his next payment next week and not sure if I will get less as I think it will cover after the award finishes.

We are “lucky” that my youngest now gets it, so if it is not renewed we are not worse off, but I would like to make plans.

Bournecrazy · 01/07/2022 11:25

@Uz91 im may 10th and not had anything like that yet, i think it gets sent out automatically after so many weeks, I'm at just over 7 weeks now

Nicole220825 · 01/07/2022 11:36

I received that beginning of the week but heard nothing back. I’m scanned around 16th April.

Uz91 · 01/07/2022 11:54

continous wait then I guess

GrapePearPea · 01/07/2022 12:06

i don’t understand the scan date thing? My form never had a barcode or anything on it. How do you get notified once it’s “scanned” ? Thanks

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2022 12:31

The scan date is a misnomer for the date it arrived with DWP, which is on the initial letter they send.

Our payment cleared today, phew. Did you get yours @Twinmummyanda7yearold?

Ahhh I see. I sent mine special delivery and apparently it arrived and was signed for at 4am lol… I hope that means it’s scanned today as the date stamped to return it was 5th July.

Bournecrazy · 01/07/2022 12:46

@GrapePearPea youll get a letter in 2 weeks or so saying they got it and the date it went onto there system. With mine I printed it off and posted it on the 5th and it got scanned onto thier system on the 10th.

With yours being requested and sent back if you get a decision the back pay goes from the date you requested your forms.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2022 13:12

I sent mine Special and I was told that the date they got it was the date they actually got it, not any later one.

@NoWordForFluffy yes 🙌🏻🥳 was lovely to actually wake up to it haha

As in the date it was actually delivered to them? Did you have to write out the address, post office wouldn’t accept the one it says to send to as no postcode!

Did you send yours special delivery or just normal? I’m worried now it won’t get scanned in until after the 5th even though it was delivered to their centre today!
