As in the date it was actually delivered to them? Did you have to write out the address, post office wouldn’t accept the one it says to send to as no postcode!

Yes, the date it was delivered.

I used the envelope they sent me when I requested the form.

Can’t remember getting an envelope. There was a free post address it said to send to, but no postcode etc. Had to ring them and got an address in Wolverhampton: I hope it’s gone to the right place!

40anddoingitagain · 01/07/2022 14:23

@GrapePearPea i got my ‘we’ve received your form’ letter today. I sent it first class signed for on Wed 8th, the tracking says delivered Fri 10th @13.00 and the date on the letter is Monday 13th. Hope that helps. I’m guessing it took a couple of days from arrival to being put on the system.

Bournecrazy · 01/07/2022 14:43

@GrapePearPea i sent mine standard 1st class on the 5th - Thursday and it was on thier system by the Tuesday. You should be OK

Bournecrazy · 01/07/2022 14:44

@GrapePearPea if the address was handling site B, wolves then that's the address on my letter I got from them

GrapePearPea · 01/07/2022 14:50

Yeah that’s the one. Thanks. Suppose I could argue that I have the tracking details showing it arrived 1st July in the event my dd is awarded DLA and they try to say we were out of time because of the scan date ahh!

Crazybrood · 01/07/2022 15:35

@GrapePearPea i was told the date it was delivered was the scan date. So mine was sent next day on the 11th May and received the 12th, which will be my scan date.my letter confirmation which I got 2 weeks later saying they have my form says they received it on the 12th but my form request was 31st march which is when ot should be back dated to if we’re awarded. I doubt they would argue saying it’s late and if you have delivery proof they can’t. My deadline was the 13th May so I scrimped it 😂 the wait is horrible though.

has anyone put a claim in for a child who has a global delay?

GrapePearPea · 01/07/2022 16:50

Yeah it’s a bit rubbish having to wait so long for a decision!! I know it’s been mentioned there is a select few who hear back a lot quicker… but how much quicker??? Gotta be hopelessly optimistic you may get lucky… 🤣

Kelle17 · 01/07/2022 17:19

have you had any luck from Universal credit yet? I’m in the same position as you. I informed them on the 24th about our change of circumstances and I got a reply on the 29th saying it was with decision maker, but no decision yet. Just wondering how much longer it will take!

kinzzzz · 01/07/2022 21:54

I dont know how to start my own thread on here but has anyone been turned down and asked for a mandatory redecision? They scanned all supporting evidence i sent in to help the claim on 14th june and told me it would be the 30th june the decision maker will look at it... ive called and the woman on the phone has now told me 3-5 weeks 😫 i just want to know what i need to do after this step .... i honestly dont know how they turned my DD down in the first place 🤦‍♀️

kinzzzz · 01/07/2022 21:59

We informed them. But we havent had any acknowledgment for my older daughters claim. I dont know if its a you must🤷‍♀️ as it doesnt affect any monies you get so ive been told

FoolShapeHeart · 01/07/2022 22:22

@Nicole220825 it doesn't count as income, but the child element is increased if you're awarded DLA x

Mummy2boys1520 · 01/07/2022 22:27

@kinzzzz I'm currently waiting for a mandatory reconsideration, I'm currently on week 5 but it is with decision maker. Mine is due to change of circumstances.

kinzzzz · 01/07/2022 23:31

So i can look forward to at least 5 weeks then 🙆‍♀️ find it odd they told me 30th but then i guess get told diffrent from each person u speak with 🙈

kinzzzz · 01/07/2022 23:33

So ur UC goes up? 🤔

doadeer · 02/07/2022 08:34

Hello I'm waiting for DLA hoping it's next week (scan date 19th April) can i ask about carers allowance? I'm not working at the moment as care for my son full time. Is there a limit on how much you can work, is that by hours or by income?

Uz91 · 02/07/2022 10:26

I receive tax credits would I have to inform them does it make a difference do what I get from them?

Polly421 · 02/07/2022 11:05

@kinzzzz and @Nicole220825 if you get UC inform them once you awarded DLA. Your payment will go up either by £132 or £414 if your child is awarded HRC. This will be backdated to the DLA award start date. So make sure you do change of circumstances on your UC. All you have to do it update your child details on who lives with you that they receive DLA and start date. Then normally element is added to your next payment. Write on your journal you wish element to be backdated to DLA start date then they will send it to case manager to look into it and backdate.

kinzzzz · 02/07/2022 11:13

Thats handy to know thank you polly. I didnt think it made a diffrence but I had already added to oyr journal anyway 👍

Nicole220825 · 02/07/2022 11:24

fingers crossed my sons awarded. It all would make a massive difference.
do they have to be diagnosed to be awarded?
he’s had the first assessment at CAMHS and waiting for his second assessment.

Polly421 · 02/07/2022 11:32

@Nicole220825 my little girl who’s 3 was awarded HRC with no diagnosis although she is awaiting her autism assessment. Its based on their needs rather than diagnosis so fingers crossed your son is awarded.

Mummy2boys1520 · 02/07/2022 12:08

I've just had a call from the decision maker, she didn't tell me if they was going to change it but she said she will go back and look at the evidence and maker her decision. So I'll probably have to wait till Monday now to find out. Mine was mandatory reconsideration

Nicole220825 · 02/07/2022 13:14

Thanks Polly… I hope so. It’s all the waiting it’s so hard.
thanks for the advice with uc x

Legofigure · 02/07/2022 13:23

doadeer you can earn up to £132pw after tax, NI and expenses and still claim carer’s allowance.

Uz91 you get more tax credits if DC receive DLA, similar to UC but different amounts. I think they are £68.17 per week for the disabled child element and then an extra £27.50 on top if eligible for the severely disabled child element but couldn’t be 100%.

Mumabear239 · 02/07/2022 13:26

Anyone had any luck with COC ? Am currently on week 13 . Saw someone on Facebook been awarded from 24th March scan date .
