Carrying on the waiting right here!

Congratulations to all those who have been awarded and fingers crossed for those who are yet to hear.

Can anyone please tell me how long it normally takes for Universal Credit to sort out the carers and disabled child element.

i notified them last wed 23rd June that my son has been awarded MRC and asked if they could back date it from 9th march which was when I got the claim pack. I then got a message last Saturday 25th June saying it has been passed to a decision maker and they will be in touch. Does anyone know how long it can take from this stage please.

Thank you. X

@Bizzlemizzle seems abit daft really, I just hope we get answers in next couple days I feel I have waited long enough 🤣 I'm becoming very impatient, I wish I could be invisible and teleport to watch over their decision being made 🤣

doadeer · 29/06/2022 10:01

Woooo congrats @NoWordForFluffy !!!

Bizzlemizzle · 29/06/2022 10:02

@Kayla77 UC have usually been really quick at sorting all my stuff out! I can't remember exact time frames but it wasn't long at all.

Naomi153726 · 29/06/2022 10:08

Thankyou wasnt sure if it was waiting to be looked at, as i know that can still take weeks!

Hammers91 · 29/06/2022 10:13

@NoWordForFluffy woohoo!!! Well done.

get that stuff for MR thrown away & do a little happy dance 🤣

seems the DM’s are being quite nice, they must be secretly reading this thread.😉

I'm having a little cry! I told the guy who told me that he's my new favourite person! 🤣🤣

So happy for you!!! Knew we were similar dates! Just fantastic news 😊

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 10:23

Thank you everyone! 😊

Good luck to those still waiting. 🤞

Oh thanks! Mine was May 7th so guess I got a longer wait 😂

VeryImpatientmama · 29/06/2022 10:56

hi Everyone. I’m a newbie but been following for the past few weeks. My form arrived at the dwp on 12th May so am I right in thinking that’s my scan date?

FightingForMyBoy · 29/06/2022 11:16

Hi everyone I’ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks my scan dates the 12th of May so I know I have a loooooong wait yet but it does sound like there’s lots of good news at the moment, hope it carries on!

Rose1919 · 29/06/2022 11:46

I just called up and the guy was lovely, I’m 12th April and he said they are looking at claims up until the 12th of April this week. Next week they’ll have claims 13th April +

it wasn’t even with DM yet 😩

GerriJnr · 29/06/2022 11:56

Been watching this post for a week or so now form received 19th May so a wee bit of a wait for us yet. Did receive a phone call on Friday to answer a few more questions and told I should get decision soon.

VeryImpatientmama · 29/06/2022 13:10

How is everyone coping with the wait? My eldest got knocked back for dla years ago when she got her asd diagnosis and I fear the same will happen for my youngest. My youngest has a GDD and a lot more evidence went into her form than my eldest so she has more of a chance of getting it but I don’t know. The wait is killing me and it’s only week 7 🙈

sulli19 · 29/06/2022 13:14

Keep jumping everytime I hear my phone go incase I get the text. Knowing its with the case manager and being looked at this week is setting my anxiety right off, medication isn't calming me down 😩 I just need an answer now. Good luck everyone 🤞🤞

KJB88 · 29/06/2022 13:56

Happy to see some more May date buddies! Congrats everyone awarded so far, I really cant wait for this to be over!

Does that suggest it's with decision maker? I'm the same date.

We've just had big solicitor fees and there's an eating course I want to do, this money will help so much

Poppysmum14 · 29/06/2022 15:59

I’m 3rd of May was told mid July x

VeryImpatientmama · 29/06/2022 16:08

@Poppysmum14 I must be end of July if you’ve been told mid 😩

Bournecrazy · 29/06/2022 16:10

@Poppysmum14 ive been watching these threads since I applied and I'm not going to ring until atleast mid July as I'm a may 10th date application. There's no point ringing when they are only working on mid April dates. Atleast they back pay us so there's no rush really

Poppysmum14 · 29/06/2022 16:18

I will let you know if I hear anything. Could do with the extra help for the school holidays as I’m sure we all could 🤞 x

sulli19 · 29/06/2022 17:13

Well another day down and no text 🥺 it's so stressful. I know it's due anyday on decision (13th april scan date) case manager needs hurry and pick my sons up of their desk I know its on there now lol 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 17:20

I didn't get a text, just found out when I called this morning. So you may be the same!

@NoWordForFluffy I may give them another call but will wait for Friday just incase lol, I hope he does get awarded be nice if he did, not sure I can deal with stress of a MR

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2022 17:48

You're stronger than I am! I think this last part of the wait has been hideous, seeing others around the same date get awarded and hearing nothing.
