Hmmm maybe the extra jubilee holidays have paused it?

I'm still unclear how you find out, is it a text, a letter, money just appears?!

Bizzlemizzle · 12/06/2022 15:37

@doadeer from what I hear the DMs worked over the bank holidays due to the backlogs.

You usually get any back payment before a letter the letters can take some time to get to you.
Texts vary, I've never had a text for my claims but plenty of others have.

doadeer · 12/06/2022 15:41

Will the payment be a lump sum of a few hundred? I'm trying to work out if I can afford a new pram with the money.

Bizzlemizzle · 12/06/2022 15:54

@doadeer depends how long you have been waiting and how much you are awarded, but yes usually a lump sum if your award is successful.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/06/2022 15:54

It depends what you get awarded and how long you've waited for it. I'd say even if you just got lower rate care you'd get a few hundred though, purely on the wait time alone.

I'm at 13 weeks since I rang for the form (9 weeks since it arrived with them on Tuesday).

Bizzlemizzle · 12/06/2022 16:00

*claim is successful, sorry.

Running on 2.5 hours sleep 😂😂

doadeer · 12/06/2022 16:01

Thanks everyone, you've been so helpful. I'm hoping for middle or higher rate, my son has high needs autism but you never know do you

doadeer · 12/06/2022 16:02

@NoWordForFluffy I think I am similar timing to you, I sent it on the 12th of April, it was received on the 19th of April. I requested it about three weeks before that I think

Bizzlemizzle · 12/06/2022 16:02

@doadeer fingers all crossed for you!

doadeer · 12/06/2022 16:03

Thank you, such a nice supportive thread x

NoWordForFluffy · 12/06/2022 16:09

I rang on 17 March and it was due back on 28 April. I sent it special delivery on 11 and it arrived on 12 April. So it's just over 12 weeks since I requested it.

I'm hoping for MRC and LRM, as DS is a nightmare to walk anywhere with due to meltdowns etc. I'd be happy with some award though after this wait!

Bizzlemizzle · 12/06/2022 16:16

I'm going to be giving them a ring tomorrow to see where my renewal is at, we've been given medication (maximum he can have too) and a review in 12 weeks time as they might not even make a difference.

I dont have any evidence yet and I know my forms are gunna be looked at within the next week if they haven't already so I think if it's possible to ask them to put a note on the file at least.

We are currently on MRC and LRM and that was given pre-diagnosis.

April202 · 12/06/2022 23:35

Here's hoping we all get some good news tomorow x I will be calling to see what dates there on

Twinmummyanda6yearold · 13/06/2022 07:17

@April202 please do let us know the dates, I'm on 9 weeks now and the wait is driving me mad 🙈

gemma1988 · 13/06/2022 07:22

10 weeks on Wednesday coming since my sons was scanned. I know it's going to be no. Can anyone tell me how to do a MR please? I heard it's better to do it in writing than over the phone. Is this true? Thanks. Good luck this week everyone.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2022 07:31

@April202 please do let us know the dates, I'm on 9 weeks now and the wait is driving me mad 🙈

Date twin...I'm also going mad! The Facebook group has had very few April dates come through yet. So I'm not being despondent. Yet!

@gemma1988, call and ask for a written statement of reasons, then reply to that with those as your headers and your response as to why they're wrong below.

Thank you so much. Might ring today when they open. I feel so emotional and drained ATM and my son's nursery is telling me one thing then another.

Twinmummyanda6yearold · 13/06/2022 07:36

@NoWordForFluffy I know I've seen a few april dates come through on there too!! So it's taking all my willpower not to ring up today and see where my claim is at... and if they say not in April yet I feel like saying well how come I know if people who have been awarded from April 🤔🤣 (wouldn't actually say that but feel like it 🤣)

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2022 07:39

There aren't many April dates with awards. Think I've only seen 3, maybe. And plenty of late March still waiting. 🤷‍♀️

Nattynoodles · 13/06/2022 07:44

Hey guys
Been following this thread since last November. I had a coc for my son. Was awarded HRC and LRM I did a MR four weeks ago and today I have woken up to a payment for HRM back dated to 9th November. I got a letter from my GP, my mum wrote a letter from her experience witnessing my sons needs. I correlated his needs againgst their original decision. What I can say is DO NOT GIVE UP. Exhaust all avenues with info and be positive. I strongly advise a stamped headed dated letter from your DR. I know it's easier said than done, but let go of the stress and worry. I wish you all the best of luck I know how disheartening it can be. If anyone wants any info on doing a MR or anything I will do all I can to advise you. Good luck and stay strong:)

SickKid · 13/06/2022 08:21

Well done @Nattynoodles ! Great news. Did your doctor charge for the letter?

Week 10 this week for me. Going to ring on Friday if not heard anything by then, although from the fb page 12 weeks seems to be the average time atm

I did actually say that the other day haha. I've rang 4 times and each time they say 29th march to me!

Twinmummyanda6yearold · 13/06/2022 09:14

@gemma1988 honestly that's how the waiting and anxiety gets you doesn't it 🤣 I just want a yes or a no now.. what did they say when you said that?

Nattynoodles · 13/06/2022 09:16

@sickkid
Thank you soo much. No I didn't have to pay for the letter, ask your DR to list all your child's conditions adversities and how much their behaviour impacts your family life. Keep it short and straight to the point.

Nattynoodles · 13/06/2022 09:19

@SickKid
It took just over 22 weeks for original decison. All the best 🙃
