Leaf1216 · 20/05/2022 12:28

No news for us yet, its sitting with a case manager and they take a few at a time and do work weekends. Nice lady said to phone after the weekend.

She said they are working up to March 11th at the moment.

Leaf1216 · 20/05/2022 12:32

@Jstir that is so frustrating for you, I hope they sort yours out as quick as they can.

@Masonandme aw that's lovely, thank you. I was really happy for you too. Hopefully I can update with good news after the weekend.

Naomis121 · 20/05/2022 12:33

Can anyone help with uc? What do I ask for in regards to the backpay from them?

BoyMama1 · 20/05/2022 12:45

Seeing everyone's awards and people being so happy with them brings hope for myself and happiness for you all.

So glad your getting awarded what your babies truly deserve - and you for having to work so hard to care and protect them.

I am so hopeful for my decision, but so scared at the same time.

I am claiming for my son who has autism. We have wrote all of his mannerisms and ways we have to deal with him on the form and I'm hoping they hear me and realise that he sees the world so different compared to a nondisabled child of the same age.

May I ask - those being awarded hrc, what is the disability you claimed for?
Has anyone ever got hrc for autism?

I know the care decision is based on individual children's needs, I just wondered because we have to constantly supervise our son and every aspect of his life, the school also backed that up that 'every aspect of his life needs heavy supervision and support'.

Thank you and congratulations for those receiving good news before the weekend.x

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/05/2022 12:47

My daughter has autism and hrc

BoyMama1 · 20/05/2022 13:01

@Mummy2boys1520 thank you so much for telling me this. We aren't expecting hrm as he can walk, the way in which he walks is dangerous so we are hopeful for lrm. We got issued a blue badge to park safer near the school because we was having meltdowns and he is so dangerous without realising. The blue badge came after I sent my claim so if I don't gey lrm I will ask for them to relook at it with my new piece of evidence.

I am so hopeful for hrc. My son has autism which affects the way he sees the world, he is routine obsessed and it takes such a long time for simple tasks. I did set examples in my forms so they can be made aware of what I mean by routines and repetitive behaviour.

The school had written a report to help us which shows samples of behaviour such as: sensory, need for repetition, zero eye contact, lack of awareness for others and there space etc.

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/05/2022 13:03

@BoyMama1 my little boy can walk to. But as you are probably aware he had really bad meltdown which causes him to shut down and police have been call on 2 occasions because of how bad his melt down have been

BoyMama1 · 20/05/2022 13:13

Thank you @Naomis121

I am hopeful.

@Mummy2boys1520 did you need much proof to be lifted to hrm?

I have sent in, school report, national autism checklist with comments from main teacher. I've recently had more evidence to show he's on 1:1 at school, 1:1 speech and language and visual timetables.
Shall I send it all in? My claim is due to be looked at so worried this evidence won't be seen in time x

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/05/2022 13:15

@BoyMama1 I literally sent everything I had EHCP report, social worker report, school report as his in a social emotion and mental health school. Police reports and also any email I've had about his behaviours at school that's what I sent

Naomis121 · 20/05/2022 14:06

Can anyone help with understanding my backpay?

£1232
people are saying it doesn’t work out as hrc lrm from 8th December

Indr · 20/05/2022 14:18

Is it a new claim or coc?

What was your rate before high?

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/05/2022 14:21

@Naomis121 so all it will be is the difference in what you already was getting

Oh I know what I’m just confused as people seem to have worked it out differently

Indr · 20/05/2022 14:29

Middle is £61.85 high is £92.40 so you should get a back pay of £30.55 per week and times that by how many weeks you have waited looking at it from the 8th dec is about 24 weeks works out at about £733 back pay if I have worked it out right

Thank you. I can just add her lrm onto that and should be right x

AReallyUsefulEngine · 20/05/2022 14:37

@Naomis121 you can’t just multiply the number of weeks by the current LRM rate and the difference between HRC and MRC. You will have to work out how many weeks are at the current rate and how many weeks are at last year’s rate.

I don’t know the differences to be honest.

AReallyUsefulEngine · 20/05/2022 14:59

For LRM, last year’s (prior to 11th April) rate with £23.70 and this year’s rate £24.45. The weekly difference between MRC and HRC last year was £29.60, and this year it is £30.55. Then work out how many weeks at each rate.

Punkypinky · 20/05/2022 17:32

Hi everyone just called today to check and was told we've been awarded high rate mobility and middle rate care. I'm so pleased.

My daughter has a really rare degenerative condition this will help us so much! This thread has been a great help. Mine was revived 11th March if that helps anyone waiting. Apparently decision was made yesterday. Wishing everyone waiting swift decisions and good luck.

Leaf1216 · 20/05/2022 18:09

@Punkypinky great news on Dla and being able to support your daughters needs more!
