@BoyMama1 my little girl 3 was awarded last year and awarded without a diagnosis and will be reviewed when she’s 5. So just over a 2 years award. The length of times will just via from child to child. It’s maybe best for you to keep track of how long it’s taking for a week then fill the form in. I found that part of the form the most challenging but hopefully in time they adjust it to be more like the Scottish child disability payment form as that’s doesn’t ask to you break every task down into minutes just the help they need overall.

Bluemum87 · 17/05/2022 13:10

Took 3 days@Kerrik94

Kerrik94 · 17/05/2022 13:46

@Bluemum87 well they sent it to my account yesterday

Jade2006 · 17/05/2022 13:53

I’m mew to this thread although I have been following it for a while, my scan date was 10th March and I phoned this morning to check where everything was up to and I got a decision of hrc and lrm,, if anyone else is on this date it may be worth calling

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 13:59

@Jade2006 that is so reassuring to hear!! My little one’s claim was scanned 11th of march so I’m hoping this means it shouldn’t be too long 🤞 I only applied for care as little one is only nearly 2 so I’m hoping it’s good news!!

Jade2006 · 17/05/2022 14:01

Yeah I didn’t expect a decision was expecting them to tell me another week or so but she said the decision was made yesterday morning and a payment has been issued, they have backdated it to 22nd February that’s when I called for the forms

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:06

Did you receive any text or anything off them? Or did you simply just ring up? I’m going to call on Friday to see if update for my claim! Congrats! I called for my forms 25th of Jan

Jade2006 · 17/05/2022 14:12

No I didn’t receive anything I just thought I would ring and check what was happening with it, she said I should receive payment by Friday, they backdate it to when u rang for ure forms, I didn’t have much hope as I sent zero evidence apart from a risk assessment from school and what I wrote in the form so was quite shocked to get high rate x

Leaf1216 · 17/05/2022 14:19

@Jade2006 great news for you! Thanks for letting us know, really hope it won't be long now.

Reassuring to know you didn't have much evidence, my ds is 2 lots of services involved but not much paper trail.

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:19

@Jade2006 That’s fabulous news! I’m really hope I get a good outcome for mine. How old is your little one? Do they have diagnosis?

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:20

@Leaf1216 when did you put your claim in? X

Jade2006 · 17/05/2022 14:22

I was a bit worried about it as I had nothing, the school did fill there bit out and gave me a risk assessment on what they have had to put in place for him but that was it I had no medical eveidence at all

Ltb17 · 17/05/2022 14:23

My sons initial award and change of circumstances were both awarded with barely any evidence for those worrying about lack of evidence. And he doesn't have diagnosis yet he's still awaiting assessment

Jade2006 · 17/05/2022 14:25

He’s 8 and no diagnosis as of yet not even a ehcp, it’s quite obvious to everyone who meets him that he needs extra help with anger and outbursts and dangerous behaviour, if ure the 11th March u will most likely hear something this week 👍

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:38

@Ltb17 @Jade2006
that is really reassuring to know!

You can't always get loads of evidence. We were essentially ignored when seeking help for DS, so literally all we have is his diagnosis report after the GP referred on the basis of my discussion with her. And then you're left to it post-diagnosis as well (ASD).

It's good to see people being awarded without much evidence.

Leaf1216 · 17/05/2022 14:47

@Masonandme mine was scanned 11th March aswell, good luck on yours!

@Ltb17 @Jade2006 thanks both, I've got the health visitor coming out on Thursday so hoping she can give me something in writing if it's needed.

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:51

Good luck to you too lovely!
when did you last ring for update?

Masonandme · 17/05/2022 14:52

@Leaf1216 my message above was for you! Hope you get the outcome you hope for x

rghltifndn · 17/05/2022 15:09

DD’s was scanned 10th too and I have been told another few weeks.

I suffer from very severe anxiety so this has got me in knots with my mental health thinking I’ve failed her as I’m seeing people here and in the facebook group that have been awarded on or around 11th.

Leaf1216 · 17/05/2022 15:47

@Masonandme thank you!
I phoned this morning to check if any update, lovely lady said the turn around is 9 weeks roughly so hopefully any day for us both now. She said it's just waiting on a dm to pick it up now. If I don't here in the next week I'll phone again, that's my plan. Have you phoned at all?

@rghltifndn try not to worry to much, I know it's easier said than done I seem to be thinking about it all the time now. I'm waiting for my little barclays symbol to show up every morning, I can't help it.

Mum2Two91 · 17/05/2022 15:50

Called today, been told mine is with decision maker, should get decision this week. Working on claims up to Jan 13th

Laurelharper · 17/05/2022 15:51

Hi everyone, how do u apply for the mobility part? Is that separately? I'm scan date 18th March for my daughter and had a awful feeling I've not done that part.

AReallyUsefulEngine · 17/05/2022 16:04

@Laurelharper it is part of the DLA form. If you filled in the form you will have completed the questions.

Laurelharper · 17/05/2022 16:12

Thank you, I think I just panicked then. I use to get high rate both parts for my eldest daughter who has lots of heart problems and lung disease with on one full lung, they stopped it all though. Now trying for my middle daughter who's adhd, sensory processing disorder and asd, plus dislexic but I don't hold much hope, trying to stay positive.
