May I ask, (I’m probably going to sound silly) but when their working on claims is it from when I rang up or from when they receive forms? I’m COC, I called them on Dec 16th but form was received by them on Jan 12th. I know they may backdate up to when I rang but not sure how they work on them. Sorry if I don’t make sense.

Leaf1216 · 04/05/2022 09:22

@Mum2Two91 I think it's when they recieve and stamp the application, but I've only done a new application so I'm not sure.

Hopefully someone else who has done a Change of circumstance can answer.

It’s from when they scanned them onto the system so the 12th of jan

@Leaf1216 I was shocked when she kept apologising saying it should have been actioned by now. It's made me worry even more

It probably got scanned to somebody who went off sick or something, so just needs reassigning to somebody else.

Wilzo235 · 04/05/2022 09:25

Got through on the phone without a wait today took me by surprise. I also got someone nice today she said my outcome was imminent and if I hadn’t recieved a letter in two weeks to ring back. She said the text service isn’t reliable. Wont be waiting 2 weeks I will probably ring everyday till I find out now haha

3babies22 · 04/05/2022 09:30

I have just called scanned on 24th Feb it is with a decision maker now. How long did people wait for a decision after claim went to DM? Thanks x

Ljjb · 04/05/2022 09:43

I'm the same date as you- the 24th. Was with decision maker on Friday. Rang yesterday and was told it is taking 9 weeks ring next week- erm it's 10 weeks this week. Couldn't be bothered arguing will ring again today.

3babies22 · 04/05/2022 09:52

@Ljjb ah really will you let me know how you get on she said call back in 2-3 weeks if no decision seems a long time when she said was with DM i hoped would get it this week. I havent called since last tuesday so not sure when it went to DM x

Vic88rj · 04/05/2022 10:36

I have just called today and mine is currently with a DM they received my forms on the 25/02. Said I should be hearing something soon.

kimmy2022 · 04/05/2022 10:46

Hi i'm Kim and new here. I have applied for DLA for my 6 year old son. It was scanned on the 3rd of March. Just been on the phone to them and they are dealing with the 1st of March and have told me hopefully I will have a decision by the third week of May. Anyone else still waiting on a decision, this whole thing has me stressed and anxious.

Leaf1216 · 04/05/2022 11:17

The waiting is so hard. I've had no choice but to come out of work to assist and care for my three year old. While we can manage I have no idea how we are going to pay to support his additional needs without DLA. Our forms were received on March 11th, hope you all get your answers soon.

I'm checking this thread constantly so fingers crossed those who applied in February hear back soon. Rooting for you all.

3babies22 · 04/05/2022 11:46

Those whos claims have been completed did you all get a text message confirming?

Bluemum87 · 04/05/2022 12:07

You should receive a letter confirming that they have received the form and what date @3babies22

Lisamarie90 · 04/05/2022 12:10

@3babies22 yes I got a text message to say my child qualified for DLA. X

Lisamarie90 · 04/05/2022 12:11

Needanewadventure2021 · 04/05/2022 12:43

@NoWordForFluffy well she said it wasn't assigned to a handler and couldn't understand why it hadn't been. She kept saying it which started my worrying.
I'm still hoping it will be soon. She told me it was an 8 week turn around now and they are working on claims from the start of March. So on that basis mine should have been done or decided on imminently. Well I hope so but it all depends how long it takes to be assigned and then dealt with now.

It's all making me miserable at the moment. My DS needs stuff put in place more than ever. I simply don't know what to do if DLA isn't awarded as I cant afford to do anything without it.

Hi yes of course. Although,o2 have kindly cut me off for the 2nd time when i have an agreement in place. I get anxious incase of a medical emergency for my little boy and it is my only phone. As soon as I am back up and running (awaiting a reply via online customer services) I will give them a call for an update and keep you posted.

Nicky80catri · 04/05/2022 13:32

Well guys I just phoned up and mine was scanned 18th march. Got told it's an 11 week wait and I should hear something by the beginning of june x

ParentingPDA88 · 04/05/2022 13:46

It’s mind boggling how 2 people can contact them on the same day to be told both 8 and 11 week waiting times!

Ljjb · 04/05/2022 13:55

It's madness, then you read other applications that have been scanned after yours and been granted-just adds to the stress that you have possibly been unsuccessful. It is a crazy system. How they haven't got some form of online portal to scan and upload documents and recieve automatic updates of your application as it goes through each stage baffles me.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/05/2022 14:02

I suppose it depends which DM it's with, as they're all on different dates / have difference backlogs.

A better system would be to scan them all in and then the DMs take from the pile, in date order of arrival, then there would be very little variation in wait time. But what do I know?!

Nicky80catri · 04/05/2022 14:16

Guys it's madness... Last week I was told 8 weeks and today 11. I think it just depends on who you get on the phone. They are just chopping and changing to suit themselves. They must get a kick out of how anxious we all are lol x

Bizzlemizzle · 04/05/2022 14:23

@Ljjb I've thought this for ages! It would save so much time and paper! Everything else seems to have an online service. I don't even get texts for some reason, all gets send out in the post. So an online journal situation like UC would work well imo and just send letters out as proof of award.

I really struggle with forms due to dyslexia so I would benefit for the application itself being online, I can't do the PDF form because I can't print god knows how many pages and then the scan copies of the evidence too, plus I'm pretty sure it wasn't the same form either, might be wrong but it just didn't seem right 😂

Ljjb · 04/05/2022 14:28

It would make their life easier too, with us not having to hound them constantly for updates as our anxiety levels are through the roof. 🙈

It is bugging me that i still can't ring out- argh. Just want my daily update haha! Bet they see my incoming call and think oh God here she is pecking our head again 🤦🏼‍♀️
