Hi mine was scanned 1st of march and have been told 10-14 days that was yesterday when I rang. I will update as soon as I know anything.

Mum2Two91 · 29/04/2022 16:28

@mummyto3littlebeautys Hi, my boy is also 6 with same difficulties. I put in COC received Jan 12th and was told 18 weeks wait. That takes it to around May 18th so I have no clue why they have told you different. They have been telling everyone different things. I’ve had a few nice advisors and a few not so nice advisors, but all don’t tell the same story. It’s confusing as hell. May I ask what area you live in? As some have posted that it’s different for different areas.

Mummy2boys1520 · 29/04/2022 16:32

@mummyto3littlebeautys I'm a change of circumstances and mine was scanned 14th December still haven't heard anything been told it will be most likely second week of may

GemJamz · 29/04/2022 16:46

@Leaf1216 mine we’re renewals. I sent my eldest daughters on 9th February and a decision was made 15th March. Renewal wasn’t due to run out until 26th March.

My youngests was sent 10th March not due to run out until 8th May and we received a decision 20th April I think.

Renewals seem to be faster than new claims or coc.

Needanewadventure2021 · 29/04/2022 17:21

W Mids here and I've been told just before 5pm the my Ds claim isn't with decision maker and they are working claims up to 21st Feb

Ljjb · 29/04/2022 18:45

Hi all, I've been following both threads for a while. I wanted to update my sit. I have a 2yo son who we have applied DLA for. Our application was scanned the 24th Feb. I am in Cheshire. I rang today and his is with the decision maker. I have been told I should have an outcome within the next 7 days.

Bizzlemizzle · 29/04/2022 19:29

@GemJamz ah good to hear. I will still wait it out till the beginning of June before I ring them, as I'm sure mine runs out on the 23rd of June but it would be awesome if they let me know sooner. We got a diagnosis the same week we got the forms so I didn't bother doing a COC and just put the new evidence with the renewal claim form and I'm hoping they are okay with me doing that.

GemJamz · 29/04/2022 20:37

@Bizzlemizzle I did the same as you. We received diagnosis February for our youngest and I just added the new evidence with the renewal rather than completing a coc. Good luck with your claim x

Bizzlemizzle · 29/04/2022 20:51

@GemJamz can I be cheeky and ask if the diagnosis made any difference to your award? We were quite suprised to get anything without a diagnosis after many many people telling us we wouldn't.

GemJamz · 29/04/2022 21:04

@Bizzlemizzle. We were receiving HRC but I don’t think we would have continued with that rate without the diagnosis. We were also awarded LRM this time.

Bluemum87 · 30/04/2022 00:54

thank you @Wilzo235 long waiting game now

Gem32 · 30/04/2022 08:47

Hi all, Ive been checking the thread for a while. My new DLA form for my son who is ASD, suspected ADHD, was scanned 28th March. I’ve obviously braced myself for a 9-10 week wait but had a payment yesterday. He is an identical twin, and his twin is diagnosed ASD, ADHD, DCD and hyper mobility and been in receipt of DLA since 2019. The references aren’t the same, by literally 2 digits. Has anyone else had their claim looked at as quickly as 4 weeks? I’m so confused!

Leaf1216 · 30/04/2022 15:22

@Gem32 waw that's great news for you both! Can I ask what area your from? I see some say location may be making a difference, our forms were scanned on March 11th and haven't heard nothing yet. We are south Wales

Gem32 · 30/04/2022 15:51

I think area doesn’t make a difference as my mum claimed for my nephew and it took 9 and a half weeks and she only found out last week and she lives 5 mins away from me and we’re Preston. I’ve checked the references and it’s definitely for him. I’m just confused it was done so quickly.

Needanewadventure2021 · 30/04/2022 16:13

I think it all depends who you speak to. Upthread in the west mids a PP states they were working claim up to 28th earlier in the week. When I called yesterday I was told they are working claims up to 21st and to expect at least another 2 weeks. I am now at 9 weeks so another two weeks will be 11 in total, though I hope I hear within the next 2 weeks.
Since I applied back in February I swear things have become more difficult. To the point I am researching private assessments. Hopefully DLA will be awarded as though support in school has started to be put in place I think its too little too late and not enough with how fast things are escalating. So I will likely use DLA initially to get my child privately assessed so I have a better understanding how to move forward.

Needanewadventure2021 · 30/04/2022 16:14

But I have no idea how new claims are being decided on before older ones. I wonder how they allocate them

I've heard of a Southport one being a month recently. So who knows?!

Gem32 · 30/04/2022 17:49

That’s really strange isn’t it. Southport is 12 mins from me, but It was sent to the same handling address as my nephews was and that took nearly 10 weeks. It must literally be luck of the draw.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2022 18:10

Well, if I get a decision in just over a week's time, it will show that we have a super-fast decision maker working on our area!

I'm now worrying about the decision, as I've a feeling we'll get declined (based on nothing, however!).

LilacPoppy · 30/04/2022 18:13

Location makes no difference, there is only one child dla team in the West Midlands.

Bizzlemizzle · 30/04/2022 18:25

@NoWordForFluffy I feel like that, I did the first time and I do now waiting for the renewal even though we have a diagnosis now and more detailed report from school this time round. Always hope the decision maker is having a good day when they get my form and evidence.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2022 18:30

I used to always think I'd failed my exams too (I've never failed an exam!). So I'm a master at thinking / anticipating the worst! 🤦‍♀️

I waited until we had a diagnosis, purely because I had no evidence in support, otherwise. We've had no help / input at all in getting this far (the GP referred him for assessment on the basis of a letter I wrote and a 30 minute conversation with me; she said there was no point seeing him as she wouldn't get a true representation in 10 minutes anyway).
