Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

NRRK28 · 24/02/2022 09:46

@Amyxkx why your daughter claim is taking so long? Do you add additional documents or anything else?

Yes I had a lot of evidence it’s because it’s a change of circumstances I’m claiming for mobility component now that shes 5, she’s in receipt of HRC at the moment, change of circumstances is taking alot longer than new claims, when forms are received they are sent to different departments depending on the claim, can’t get over how long it’s taken when we first claimed when she was 2 it only took 4 weeks

Hi all just thought I would update as I've just phoned dla with a few extra notes to add to our case. They informed me that they are now working on 12th December!

kitamummy3 · 24/02/2022 11:39

Has any body had the same problem as me forgot to sigh the declaration at the end and had it sent back to sign if so how long did you have to wait for a decision

MummyOfBoys2022 · 24/02/2022 11:53

Ade88 · 24/02/2022 11:56

Sjf1398 · 24/02/2022 13:29

Called to chase up claim from 14th December, was asked who I bank with and if my phone number is up to date so they can contact me... are these normal questions if it hasn’t been looked at yet?

Kasiek · 24/02/2022 13:42

They asked me the same questions when I called on Monday , today just like 30mins ago received a text message with decision. Hope that will help

Sjf1398 · 24/02/2022 14:13

@Kasiek thank you, what was your scan date? Never been asked bank details before so made me a little hopeful haha

MummyOfBoys2022 · 24/02/2022 14:21

@Sjf1398 my scan date was 13th December and they asked me that's not had a decision yet but said it should be with the decision maker by end of the week

CoffeeFirstPlease · 24/02/2022 14:22

It seems to me that it just depends on who's desk it lands on and how quick that individual works. When I called on Monday I was told 10-14days mine was scanned on the 21.12.

@Kasiek hoping it was a positive decision.

Amyxkx · 24/02/2022 14:29

She said 24th worth ringing you may have decision 🤞🏼

J84b04j23 · 24/02/2022 14:53

@amyxkx I'll give them a call now
Thank you xx

J84b04j23 · 24/02/2022 15:16

@Amyxkx I've just been on to them and they said another 5 working days to make a decision 🙄🙄 xx

Amyxkx · 24/02/2022 15:41

Crazy isn’t it x

Emzi89 · 25/02/2022 10:58

My new claim was scanned on 17th December I rang today and lady said new claims taking between 11&14 weeks.
They are working on vlaims up to the 12th December so I've got at least another 2 weeks wait. Good luck to all still waiting and hope you hear soon 😊 x

MummyOfBoys2022 · 25/02/2022 13:13

My received date is 13th December I called yesterday and the man on the phone said mine is down to be done by the case manager on overtime during the weekend and to call back Monday to find out there decision that's the Wolverhampton one

CoffeeFirstPlease · 25/02/2022 13:21

I spoke to them this Monday my form was scanned 21.12 and I was told 10-14days from then but judging by people still waiting from 9-12/13th ish I reckon I've still got another 2/3wks wait
