DLA waiting times 2022

Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Hi , my forms were received 3rd Dec. I have received payment . Just wondering about the backpayments mine seems to be 8 week back pay but been waiting for desicion 11 weeks

Does anyone know how the payments work

I git told you get back paid from the day they recieve it back unless you phoned originally asking them to send you the forms in which they stamp the front with the date you phoned in requesting the forms?so for instance mine were stamped 19th Nov they received them back filled in 13th Dec amd I am now awaiting tk hear a decision....hope this helps 😀

Yes I thought this too but my forms were received 3rd Dec. Got a payment today. So just over 11 week wait . I don't know what my daughter has been awarded yet as letter hasn't come through but can't seem to work the payment out . May have to ring tomorrow and ask

@Lkw15 I was told dla is paid every 4 weeks in arrears so maybe they paid the first 8 weeks and then you will get another payment at your 12wk mark I'm guessing next week? Hopefully they can explain when you call if that is the case. Happy your claim was successful though that's great news!

@CoffeeFirstPlease yes this is what I thought as payments every 4 weeks normally . I wondered if they had done 8 weeks and then another 4 will go in next week as would be 12 weeks . It's annoying that the letters take so long I've waited patiently I haven't rang once to check claim just noticed a payment today .

Yes happy to be awarded I wasn't sure of would my daughter has been diagnosed with autism she is 3 . She's has just had her final ehc made up ready for school.in September. She is non verbal so very nervous for the start

@Lkw15 you have more patience than me I've called once to confirm my evidence was received and the lady offered to check my progress so couldn't say no 🤭 I would think that you will get another 4wks payment next week when you are hitting 12wks.

That's so good you have your ehcp ready in place at least that's great. I hope this money makes a difference for you. I looked at my daughters school report today and it's had me doubting the claim now but I guess in two weeks I'll know for sure.

@CoffeeFirstPlease I've followed this thread since my claim was received 😂 I was worried I hadn't added enough evidence but put everything I had in and reports from nursery and diagnosis letter and ehc plan details .

I have been worrying the whole 11 weeks so very happy . My daughter is still young alot of people tell me I'm lucky to have already got a diagnosis for her and all plans set ready for school.

Hi, we received payment today, they also got forms back on the 3rd Dec. I phoned last weds and was told was with decision maker. Looks like been paid for 10 weeks, with a couple quid extra. Hopefully get letter soon explaining.

Not yet. I haven’t got any payment yet. I called yesterday and they said it still with decision maker. I’m getting anxious now. Have u received your payment yet?

@Tol85 did they ever call you to ask about your kid?. My friend apply dla for her son and they call her and asking about her son. No one call me or write to me. My form was received on the 3rd of dec but i dont get any payment yet. So worried now.

@NRRK28 ring them mine was recived on the 3rd and was finalised on friday and turned down due to bot enough evidence and my son being moved into my room so we dont disturb the house hold makes his night needs no longer being seen too 🤦‍♀️ im having to do a mr x

@NRRK28 no never called me either, I did get letter about eight weeks saying about delays. I sent copies of everything I had and got nursery to fill in the other part. Check ur bank in morning if nothing give them a call x

@Tol85 I was the 3rd too . I can't work the payment out tho. Seems like it's only 8 week backpay when it's been over 11. Might call tomorrow and ask them what was awarded as letter hasn't come through yet

I can't work out the payment either, doesn't work out any way I try. It's quite annoying after all the wait. No letter yet either.

@Lkw15i got 11 weeks not the full 12 weeks it was nearly at @nrrk28 I got paid this morning as been told it always worked out from Tuesday after claim in and also paid 4 week on Tuesday, they didn’t call me or contact anyone except my dr for his medical records xx

I just check my bank account and i dont received any. On decrmber they ask for more documents which i sent straightaway and they received it by 30th dec. Is it any possibility might be delayed because the additional documents?. I’m so worried now. Because i need the dla to sent my son to nursery 😭😭

I send my sons dla form in on the 11 of jan for it to be sent back to me on the 2 of feb because I forgot to sign the declaration and when I rang up to ask about it because it's bin 11 weeks since I got sent the form on 6 of December to be told it's going to take 10 to 11 weeks for a decision so mine got but back on hold because I forgot to sigh it

My form was received on 9th of December , I called on Monday they said I should have decision till end of this week
